THE WEEPING FOREST

The Weeping Forest:

- Roll a 100-sided dice each time you post. Match your dice roll to the results below as to what you find. Make sure to RP out the post. You can work with someone else as well, so each of you can obtain max 10/15 items (depending on your job class)
- You can only rp here with other Lost Clans members. This will still take place in the MAIN section of the guild where all the rp goes however!
- Occasionally you will hear ??? noises. It seems minipets are pretty common in the area! You can summon any minipets your horsemen has carried with them/ found/ etc etc (or even found in the forest, as it is abundant with minis) to help you around in this area/ look for supplies/ etc etc. Unlike students, Lost Clans members use minis as tiny workers, and will only summon them as necessary and less so of a vanity item.
- Once you are done, don't forget to claim points here

- 1- 10: Thick branches
- 11- 20: Wispy leaves (easily flammable)
- 21- 30: Large hollow tree (dead)
- 31 - 40: Tree bark
- 41 - 50: Sticky tree sap
- 51 - 60: Bones from dead minipets
- 61 - 70: Dry moss
- 71 - 80: Pine needles
- 81 - 90: Large slab of stone
- 91 - 100: Simple clay

Wrapped up in his robes, Faiyum stared at the weeping forest with a strange expression on his face. He had been to the War Isle before, it wasn't as if he'd never seen trees before, but these were rather scraggly in comparison. It was fascinating, the alchemist thought, his curiosity coming to the front. He could scavenge and examine the plants and minipets in the area at the same time, he decided as he headed into the woods.

The short famine horseman moved silently, regardless of all the dead limbs on the ground. Each step was carefully placed without even looking at the ground. His hands were buried in his robes, and only a few plant heads peeked out from the scarf that was covering his head.

A dry moss covered the side of a tree, catching the plant loving alchemist's eye. Those black, soulless eyes lit up and he headed to the tree, crouching down to scrape as much of it off as he could. "What a wonderful find," he said. "This will be an excellent help to start growing my plants again."

The short horseman had a rather tall shadow, as Salbei ghosted along behind him, red eyes trained on the forest as well. It was fascinating of course, and he would have loved to take his time and poke at the trees with various sharp things to see what comes out, but alas that wasn't his focus for today. Today was gathering time, not researching time; home first, plans later. Besides, he didn't have notebooks anymore.

"Oh how I miss the dry sand already." The tall Horseman lamented, brushing a blood stained hand through his hair, just enough to make the nicknacks in his hair ties clink unhappily. Nothing quite beat the feel of dry sand stuck between the bones of his feet... With a wistful sigh he moved on, drifting away from Fai just enough to tap his fingers on some of the trees, checking for noise and whether or not it was dead; it seemed, sadly, alive and well.

"Perhaps we should focus more on the clan as a whole first?" The Sage suggested with a small sad smile as Fai mentioned his plants; he wanted to see them growing again too, though he'd never admit it. Because they tended to bite him. He continued his search, leaning down to pick at pieces of moss that were too small to use, brushing aside branches that were of no use to anyone as anything but kindling...and then he found it. Rather, his foot found it, his bones clinking off of the hard stone. Sal's red eyes drifted down to the item, and he let out a breathy sigh of remorse.

...Oh dear, that looked large. And heavy. It was just the two of them, and their scavenging had only just begun; there was no way he was going to carry that all day.

"Ahh...And perhaps we should create a pile of heavier items."

It was time.

It was time to roll up her sleeves and get down to business and to help with the rebuilding process. Determination seemed just a part of her spirit - despite being Conquest she was used to hard work but then again she was not a noble or anything of the sort. Certainly she could be off teaching or something of that sort but this seemed much more useful for the time being. To help and gather supplies, this was her use right now.

As she started looking around she found a dead hollow tree as she stood on her tippy toes to peer into the hollow she found that nothing was living in it at the moment. She gave a soft thoughtful hum.

Yes, she would use this as a base to pile things at. Maybe later they could take an axe to the tree to try and salvage the wood for kindling even if the wood was dead. Yuzhi rapped her knuckles against the dead tree's bark and a couple of pieces fell to the ground. Heh. Maybe it was just good for nothing at all...

"Fine, fine," Fai said, his attention caught on something on the ground. He leaned down, poking through the rocks and pulling out a few small white bones. "We'll hook it up behind the minipets when we're done searching," he added to Sal.

The first step to rebuilding was gathering supplies. Tseng could do that much. He might not be of the famine clan, but it really couldn't have been that hard to find some materials. Though, he was a little late, and so he practically ran from the reserve to the woods to catch up with the others.

"I'M HEEEERREE!" he called out as he jumped into the clearing.

It seemed like the others were all rather busy searching. Oh! And there was his sister nearby. Grinning, he waved to her before looking around for something to grab. Not too far off, he spotted a rather large slab of stone. Perfect! Making his way over, he tried to see what the best way to pick it up would be. He then crouched down and lifted it up with a grunt.

"Got it!" he chimed as he heaved it up and over his head.

The forest was alive with noises, which he did like. The sound of the living (either true or -un) was a great hear for sore ears...but there were a few noises that stood out to him. The knocking of knuckles on dead wood, for example. So far he had yet to hear anything make that particular noise and so he cocked his head, turning an ear up to listen for it; he heard it once more, this time followed by the sounds of something falling. Either one of the forest creatures was being careless, or there was someone else out here, scavenging alongside them.

"Pardon me." Sal murmured towards Fai before taking his leave, curiousity getting the best of him despite his warning to his clanmate. Either way he would win; either the creature could help him locate some easier to carry materials, or he could find an old (or make a new) friend. What he didn't expect to find was a tiny ghoul in pretty clothes standing near a hollow, dead tree. Moreso; one he didn't recognize.

"Oh my! Aren't you an adorable Little!" Sal greeted in a cheerfully doting voice, making his way over to the much smaller (and decidedly Conquest) Horseman. "Are you out here alone, my dear?" Terrible shame to have such a precious little one out by herself! He almost wanted to ask where her parents were, but he saved that question for later because they could very well be in this forest as well, scavenging somewhere.

But then someone very loud showed up. "Ah. Apparently not?" He answered his own question, an amused smile forming on his lips. "You certainly are the life of the party, aren't you?" He chuckled softly before nodding his head in greeting, the trinkets in his hair clinking together softly.

Her eyes glanced around until she saw some wispy looking leaves on the ground near the dead tree, she began to scoot them at a pile near the base of her tree. Suddenly her brother came out of nowhere it seemed her pale gold eyes flicking over to Tseng with that sort of amused gaze one would have of 'oh, he is such a special child' despite him being older than her by some bit. Her gaze tore away from her sibling up at the new figure that had approached her and was talking to her.

Though at the moment all she heard was Little. Her semi-brow gave a bit of a twitch and her cheek puffed out a tiny bit but otherwise she let it slide for now, "My brother just arrived, Sir. May I be of assistance to you somehow?" Though she was a bit terse with him her tone was not unfriendly with the Sage before her.

She had noted the other horseman here as well though they seemed a bit busy with the gathering of things as well.

A rustle of leaves from above was the only warning the other horsemen would get before the Ashen Soldier dropped down with a soft fump from the sky above. Dark blue wings quickly curled in behind her as she took a moment to look around.

"I take it I'm not the only one who decided heading into the woods would be a good idea for supplies?" Glancing around she made note of the other horsemen nodding to each in kind, though it seemed she was the only one from the clan of Death currently around.

It was while she was looking at Tseng that she noticed the damp clay left behind from the slab he had moved. Without a word she moved over tugging a bag from off her shoulders pulling out a few small pots to fill with clay.

"You found more then a slab. There was clay underneath it," she said as she passed the by the Conquest horsemen.

Shifting the slab so that it rested on his shoulder, Tseng grinned over at Yuzhi before turning towards one of the horsemen that had found some clay under the rock he had picked up.

"Aha! Not a bad find indeed. We need all the things we could find, and the forest should be bountiful in such things! " he nodded while motioning towards the woods all around them.

For the time being, he had missed the fact that his little sister got all puffy over the comment one of the Famine boys had said regarding her size. No, he was busy searching for things.

There was another big rock. Making his way towards it, the Imperial Soldier set the slab he already had before on top of it before hoisting up them both.

"Oh! Yuyuuuuu. Do you need any help carrying things?" he called out to his sibling. She was the smaller one and all.

Her fingers worked the clay quickly scooping the moist substance from the earth and into a few of her small jars. Just as quickly as she had found it, it was gone. It wasn't very much at all really she realized as she tucked her jars back into her bag.

"A good find, maybe, yes. But not nearly enough to do any real work. We might need to flip more stone slabs to seek more." She glanced around spotting a dead hollowed tree sighing, "Even the trees here are sometimes not worth harvesting." Standing up she dusted dirt and grass from her knees before following Tseng towards the other horsemen.

Sadly the next slab the boy moved had no clay and left Nirva glancing about with a slight frown, wings shifting irritably behind her. "This place is... not exactly what I would call home. Not enough stone, or a single mountain."

"Sir?" Sal parroted, his eyes widening for a moment in surprise. "So polite! Very good, but please do call me Sal." He gave a small bow to the little one, and then became absolutely delighted to see more and more horsemen (and women) come out of the woodwork so to speak. He bypassed the little Conquest's question completely in favour of observing the going-ons around them for now.

"I find the woods more resourceful." Was his simple answer to the Death Horsewoman, that smile ever present on his lips. A moment later he looked thoughtful, tapping a blood-stained hand against bloody lips. "However...I am sure that those that go visit our neighbours will be just as fruitful." He shrugged. Resources were resources, and every little bit counted in some way. "Unfortunately my dear, this is what we must call home from now on. We will just have to make it feel a little more right, I suppose." He understood where she as coming from though, as he looked down to once more lament the lack of sand between his bones.

Speaking of resources...the amount of large items seemed to be increasing in numer, he thought as he observed the tree from the little one, the two stone slabs from the loud one, and then his own stone slab. Certainly a good haul for the beginning of building, but at the same time they were just beginning! With this in mind, he turned his attention back down to the small apparent child.

"Perhaps it may be beneficial to create a space for the heavier items? If you do not object to sharing a space for the time being." And so long as people were honest as to what was theirs and what was not, of course.

The shared space became more appealing as he found yet another heavy slab. Siiiigh. "I do believe this forest is more stone than wood." He clinked at it a bit, tapping his bones against the cold stone surface.

"Perhaps it has something to do with where you're looking, Sal," Fai said dryly, pulling off a strip of tree bark from one of the trees nearby.

"This can be used in several ways as well--most importantly it can be used as a sled for carrying objects on. A bit of rope and Specimen A, we'll have a decent transport system," he said as he laid it down next to the rock pile. Then he looked at the other horsemen, smiling faintly.

"Greetings fellow Lost Clan members. I am Faiyum Riaz, Alchemist of the... previous Famine Clan. And I am freezing, so I hope you don't mind my rushing to gather materials and return back to the tents. This land is several degrees too cold in my opinion." He shivered slightly, tugging his robes even closer around him.

One of the strange plants peeking out of his turban styled scarf turned, looking straight at Yuyu and opening its mouth. Fai reached up, tucking the plant back into the scarf with an idle motion.

"If that is what you wish, Sal," she said amiably enough she watched him for a moment or two more before her eyes stared at her surrounding area, "I am known as," then her brother called her by her nickname and she let out a small sigh, "Jiang Yuzhi, you may call me Yuzhi if you wish, Sal."

She then turned to look at her brother and gave him a small smile, "I am fine, Tseng. Do not fret on my behalf~," Yuzhi then started to poke around the area of her little tree for now until she found a slab of stone of her own she dug it up a bit since it was slightly buried only to find two of them and then dragged them both to the pile she was starting at the base of the tree. She looked at Sal and then at her brother, "For the time being we could pile them up here at the tree I found?"

It was a suggestion to everyone and not just the 'new friend' and sibling.

Tseng eyed the Death Soldier for a moment, but then shrugged as he hauled his rocks around.

"It won't be the same, no. But! I bet we can make our new home awesome," he said optimistically. He was going to miss the structures and the ponds and whatnot for sure. However, this was where they were to stay and he supposed that in a way they were lucky to have some space after what had happened.

He thought about Sal's suggestion for a moment, but he was fine lugging around his rocks. He wasn't a little weakling! Well, they were kind of heavy, but it wasn't anything he couldn't really handle right now. And so he kept on carrying them. Though, it seemed that his little Yuyu wanted to pile them up. Hmmm...

Ah he'd just hold onto the rocks for now anyway. Moving on along, he noticed some loose bark from one of the trees. Grabbing onto it, he yanked it back to get a pretty good strip. It might be useful for something. And indeed, the one that had just introduced himself as Faiyum explained some of its uses. Nice!

Turning towards the others, the Conquest horseman bowed down rather deeply despite the load he carried. He probably would have done more but the rocks did keep him from doing anything wild.

"Lee Tseng of the Imperial Soldiers of Conquest at your service!"
