Summer was drawing ever closer, and Caelian wondered if Millicent’s upcoming break would mean she would have to stall in her patrols. The thought made her a bit sad, to say the least, for she really had begun to enjoy going out and protecting the citizens of Destiny City. It felt good to prance through the streets in her pastels, kicking monsters in the face, talking to people who were trying to take over the world…yeah. Life was perfectly normal for a woman who was nearing thirty.
But, then again, wasn’t this every woman’s dream? To have the ability to stay young? Why, she was jumping to heights that even her daughter would have to admit was very, very impressive. She was a super hero, and…well. She couldn’t really tell anyone about it.
That was the one drawback to the entire thing. Who could she really talk too about any of this…there was Sutai, Anandi was a nice girl after all, but she was still just a child really. There was that man, Tony or whatever…but she hadn’t bothered to seek him out again…and there was Shalott, though she had absolutely no idea who that woman was outside of her super hero alter ego…so, in short. Caelian had only a teenager to converse with about her life as a page. At least it was something.
She stretched and had a good look around, yawning. It had to be nearing midnight, and that was always a good time to go home, at least it always felt like a good time to go home. Anything after that and she was all but dead on her feet. The page began walking back in the direction of her housing development, which was still a good half hour walk away, seeing as she was on the edge of the downtown area of the city.
Nothing had happened that night that had been really worth worrying about, she squashed a youma, and helped a civilian in the process, but, that had been earlier. Everything past that had been…really boring.

With summer just around the corner, Sessrumnir had just one thing to worry about — what should he do with it? Should he spend his break from teaching nerdy boys by getting a summer job, or should he just party the whole time? He was leaning heavily to the partying, if he was honest with himself. It wasn't as though he'd had that much time to actually party anyway, having spent his time after high school in the military, so why not take advantage of civilian life?
Granted, he wasn't a civilian. Not when he was running around in a strange green costume and swinging around a storm glass that could do some pretty interesting things to youma, he'd discovered. He didn't know that the little trinket could actually hold the magic it did, but now that he knew, it amused him greatly.
"Excuse me," he called to the knight he'd sensed from a few blocks away. He was sure she'd have felt his presence as well, so he made sure to approach her in as unthreatening of a manner as he could. "Would you happen to know how much a polar bear weighs?" he asked curiously in his approach, grinning as he looked the young woman over, glad to see that she wasn't in middle school. She had to be close to his age, at least.
Sometimes he got lucky when he went out on patrol. Usually he just got tipsy, dusted a youma, and went home to go to bed so he could get up for school the next day. He didn't usually run into anyone else, much less legal women.

Caelian paused hearing someone speak, then all at once the feeling of another powered presence washed over her as well. “Hm? How much a polar bear weighs?” What a strange question. She tilted her head and looked the other knight over, giving a slight nod. What kind of a person was he? “Tell me. How much do they weigh?”
If he was going to ask, she wanted to know the answer, unless of course he was just doing it to be a jerk, in which case…she would just keep heading home. It didn’t matter much. But maybe with this, she wouldn’t have to walk home alone. That would be a wonderful new way to look at things.
Sometimes she did hate being alone.

Sessrumnir grinned as he watched the knight turn around to look at him. She was good looking, at the very least. And not a teenager. He was so tired of seeing teenagers out and about in skimpy outfits when they should be at home doing their homework.
He held out a hand before answering, but when he did she would understand why. "Enough to break the ice. Hi, I'm Sessrumnir," he grinned wider, hoping she wouldn't think he was too strange having approached a complete stranger.
Then again, with the war going on, they couldn't really afford to be shy.

She took the hand, then paused. The joke took a moment to process in her head, but a second later she was overtaken by a fit of giggles. “Oh. Oh my that was a good one, thank you.”
Sessrumnir. That was a mouthful and a half. “My name’s Caelian, I’m a page of Venus. It’s a pleasure to meet you as well. What are you doing on this fine night? Just out and about making good things happen?”
She really liked the green of his outfit. He looked…cool. For lack of a better word. Though, anyone looked better than her sugar plum fairy costume. Anyone did. “I was just on my way home, if you’d like to join me, perhaps? It would be nice to walk with someone, I think. It can get very lonely on the road alone.

Sessrumnir shrugged lightly at her invitation, figuring there wasn't any harm in taking her up on her offer. He had no plans that night and if he could get acquainted to someone around his own age, that was obviously going to be a big plus.
"Just making sure the world isn't going to be destroyed, you know," he said casually as he stood to walk beside her. "It would be my pleasure to walk you home. Who knows, there might be a monster lurking around the corner."
He was a little cynical, but he didn't think that was so horrible. It was the truth, at least. There really were monsters lurking around. "Have you been doing this long?" he wondered, looking her over once more. She didn't look too war hardened, but women like wearing makeup to hide that kind of stuff... Or something like that.

She nodded, that was a feeling that she shared as well. “It wouldn’t be a very nice place to live if it was destroyed, that’s for sure…I’ve been at this for about four months now…long enough to at least have my toes in, don’t you think? But not long enough…I don’t know. There’s just still so much that I don’t know. Don’t understand.”
Caelian continued walking and shook her head. “What about you? Have you been at this long? You seem like you really know what you’re doing..did that confidence take you a long time to get? I just feel so out of place a lot of the time. And useless, I can’t forget that I feel useless a very good portion of the time.”
He was a guy, and a rather buff one at that, he must have had a much easier time at this than she did. She who never liked to get into fights, who never liked to get hurt, or hurt others. This whole knight thing had been a thorn in her side, big time.
