OPTIONAL QUESTS
OPTIONAL QUESTS WEEK 1:
gaia_crown [ Selecting an optional quest ]: Your horseman character can select ANY of the optional quests available, follow the instructions and RP, and RP out the results. You can do this in a SOLO or PRP thread with another player! You will not get any scavenging items from it, but it could be fun and you could discover things about the current status of your clan! If you do it as an rp with another player, both of you will need to fulfill the requirement.
- Each time you finish a quest you gain +2 RP points and another +1 if you go over 800 words. This only counts the FIRST TIME you finish this quest. You also get +3 Four Clans Token per quest you take, again only the FIRST TIME per quest.
gaia_crown [ One optional quest at a time ]: Your character can only participate in ONE optional quest at a time!
QUESTLINE: Planting the trees
As you walk around the reservation, you notice a few former War clan members squabbling amongst themselves. They seem to have dug several rather large, impressive holes.
"Did you bring any seeds?" The female clansmember seems extremely agitated, literally harping on the male. He in return, says nothing. "We need seeds of strong saplings, nothing else will support our huts."
She suddenly spots you. "'You there! Come here." She points the ground, where a few small seeds are buried." I need you to go to the Weeping Forest and find tree seeds exactly like these ones. We need to grow the strongest trees."
Before you can argue she points you in the direction of the Weeping Forest. Oh well, better get started
OOC
- Roll a 100-sided dice and match your dice roll to the results below. Keep on rolling until you obtain at least 2 perfect seeds. You have completed the RP once you have fulfilled this requirement.
- 1-20: The tree you manage to find and scale is weak and sickly. It does not seem like it will be suitable
- 21 - 40: You find a particularly large tree, and rather nasty too, as it swings its branches, nearly disemboweling you on the spot. You manage to snag one seed from its branches before you have to flee away from it. +1 seed
- 41 - 60: The tree seems to be very promising, but it seems to only be budding at the very very top. The branches are too dense to fly, so you take the dangerous trek of climbing up, but can only reach one seed before you fall back down. +1 seed
-61 - 80: You look around, trying to find your way... you could have sworn you took this path before. You feel a little lost....
- 81 - 100: You see a suitable tree, but before you can grab at it, a minipet runs away with your find. Maybe you should find that minipet and skin it...
QUESTLINE: A Source of Water
"Wait wait, stop, wait a second!"
You pause for a second as a Famine clansmember apprehends you. You notice they are standing in a very very large ditch, carrying a shove. There is nothing in the ditch however, as you peer down into the six-foot deep expanse.
"Okay, here let me explain." She points downwards into her little project. "I am trying to create a reservoir, you know, of water. So that we can build farms again." She scowls. "Don't give me that look, it is important to cultivate as much as it is to collect. Now, I need a few good sources of water, I'm hoping once we get enough supplies to create some piping down into the water."
Did she mean, literally take from a water reserve? Well, hopefully not.
OOC
- Roll a 100-sided dice and match your dice roll to the results below. Keep on rolling until you find the perfect water reserve. You complete the quest once you have done so!
- 1-20: You reach an area that seems to be particularly wet, close to Amityville, but there also seems to be an awful stench nearby, probably not...
- 21 - 40: You head into the Weeping Forest, but only manage to get yourself lost, though you could swear you hear a trickling noise
- 41 - 60: You see a small pond close to Amityville, but it is filled with Minipet life. Maybe not....
-61 - 80: You see a well close to the Weeping Forest and hurriedly rush towards it. It is empty...
- 81 - 100: At last, deep in the Weeping Forest, you see a well. As you look deep into it, and pull the bucket upwards, you realize the water is not only fresh, it is rather delicious as well! This will be perfect! Water Reserve Found
QUESTLINE: To Trance of Not to Trance
You wander around the edge of the reserves, where there seem to be more of an abundance of natural supplies in the forms of flowers, leaves, tiny saplings, even a sampling of wild herbs and more hostile vegetation, when you notice a lost-looking Death priestess. She stares at you, blinking. In her hand is a basket, mostly empty, with only a small collection of leaves.
"Can you help me for a second?" She looks straight up at you, pulling her basket towards you for you to examine. "I forgot what supplies are needed for Trance."
Hell if you knew.
"This is important," she pleads, all but clinging on to you as a lifeline. "Can you help me grab the proper reagents to use for Trance?"
OOC
- Roll a 100-sided dice and match your dice roll to the results below. You will need to roll 5 times. You complete the RP once you have done so.
- 1-20: You see some flowers, they look familiar, snapping dragons perhaps? You grab some, though one of them takes a chunk of your finger. Ouch!
- 21 - 40: You reach over for... some poisonous mushrooms? Why not...
- 41 - 60: You get to working on chopping some of the large, overgrown wild grass, but it seems to have other ideas as it nearly strangles you. Fortunately, you defeat the wild grass.
-61 - 80: You see an exotic vine, well, that looks fun. As you grab it you suddenly feel drowsy and..... well you wake up a little later, feeling slightly refreshed, if not miffed okay.
- 81 - 100: You see a few tree branches, they look harmless enough.... until one smacks you in the hand. MINI BOSS: This tree branch is actually an angry minipet. You have to placate the minipet/ defeat it to point of near-consciousness to use it okay. Roll 2d8-8 to determine your attack, the minipet does 5 auto damage to you and has 15 HP. You need to keep on hitting it until you defeat it.
QUESTLINE: A Modest Proposal
A Famine alchemist suddenly stops you for a second. "Hey you, come here!"
You look around.
"Yeah you, here here." They suddenly press something into your hands why, they look like a bunch of flasks.
"Look, I need you to hand these flasks out to people, you know, so they can try out my works." That sounded potentially dangerous, just sort of. "I won't know if my works have succeeded unless I have results you know. Okay, how about this, you can take all these flasks for free, just don't forget to come back to me with the results from each flask when done."
OOC
- You will need to make a PRP thread either in this subforum (HORSEMEN EXPERIMENTERS ONLY) or in the main thread (for Amityville). If you make it in the main thread, simply label it as PRP, you can now invite students to try out these flasks, and rp the results. The status effects affect anyone trying out the flasks.
- They will need to roll a 100-sided dice, which determines which status effect they get. Don't forget you have to record the results! Once five people have tried a flask, you can then wrap up this quest and post a conclusion/ give the results to the NPC. You complete this quest once you have done so.
- Anyone who has had a flask can keep the status effect for 24 RP hours
- 1-20: Whomever trying the flask doesn't notice much different... that is until they start growing mushrooms all over their arms, and then grass and then flowers and... wow... they look like a walking garden.
- 21 - 40: Whomever trying the flask suddenly turns very very fluffy - holy crap they are an alpaca! Maybe you should just leave them be... (they are stuck as an alpaca, they cannot talk)
- 41 - 60: Whomever is trying the flask suddenly feels very light - they are floating away. They have suddenly lost the ability to maintain gravity, unless they are being held by someone, they will simply drift off into the endless sky... until the status effect wears off.
-61 - 80: Whomever trying the flask suddenly falls in love with (THE FIRST PERSON THEY SEE IN THAT THREAD), they can't figure out why, but there is just something so beautiful and enchanting about them, they have to be with them forever!
- 81 - 100: Whomever tries the flask suddenly turns into a minipet (of their choice), they still seem to be able to talk though, I guess they are just stuck like that for a while...
