The sandy hollow is where most battle-training takes place for apprentices. Its open space, soft terrain, and plentiful textures make for a good rescource
for teaching growing cats the way of the warrior. Since this place is so often used by cats, Its not the best place to find prey lingering about. Most often the
tests apprentice are put under, start here and end here.

The silver tabby she-cat padded into the hollow, slowly and cautiously, aware of every little pebble, every little stick that was in her way, and sat down beside her mentor, every muscle in her thin little body screaming at her not to do this.

Pepperdust took notice that no other cats had accompanied them. "It looks like I will be your opponent." She said to Silverpaw. "For what it's worth, I promise, I will be careful." Then she stood up, to face Silverpaw. "Let's start with Front paw attacks." She said. "How many Front paw attacks can you think of?" She asked, deciding to test Silverpaw's knowledge first. ... teach, not fight.

The silver tabby she-cat tilted her head to one side, hearing that Pepperdust would be 'careful' with her. Front paw attacks? What are those? Isn't that just attacking with your paw? She thought as she mewed, "One?"

The silver tabby she-cat nodded, pretending to understand what Pepperdust was talking about, and when Pepperdust asked her to attack her head with her paw, Silverpaw was more than happy to comply. She lashed out with her paw and tried to slap Pepperdust across the face, all the while trying to keep her expression neutral so it didn't look like she was still upset at her mentor.

pepperdust stood still, waiting for the blow with her eyes closed. She could concentrate better that way. As soon as her whiskers detected Silverpaw's paw getting close to her face, Pepperdust sidestepped ever so slightly, so that the paw only touched her head for a moment, rather then hitting it down, as the move was intended to do. When she was done moving she opened her eyes. "That was good, and probably would have hit, if I wasn't expecting it." Pepperdust said to Silverpaw. "Did you see how I dodged it?" She asked her apprentice. Dodging moves was also important to know. ... teach, not fight. occ: A scary two-leg, probably.

The silver tabby she-cat watched as Pepperdust stepped out of the way so that her attack didn't land. Her eyes narrowed when her mentor made it look so easy, but she nodded, feigning interest when her mentor asked if she'd seen the dodge.
"But if you close your eyes, what if you don't see the hit?" She asked innocently.

Pepperdust nodded. "If this was a real fight, and if I wasn't expecting your attack, I wouldn't have closed my eyes, because then I couldn't see if you were going to attack me. But for practise, it's a good way to train your senses other then your eyes." She paused, inhaling loudly to empathize what she meant. "In battle, your eyes can play tricks on you, and you may not be able to rely on them. Now close your eyes, and see f you can dodge it." She said, getting her paw ready. occ: twisted ... teach, not fight.

The small silver she-cat nodded, trying to understand even though she didn't actually care for battle training anyways. With her mind closed off to the things she was supposed to be learning, she actually learned nothing from her mentor. However, she nodded, and closed her eyes, trying to keep her eyes closed but instead keeping them a little open so she wouldn't get too badly hurt when her mentor decided to attack her.Unmotivated ThunderClan Apprenticeooc ;;

Pepperdust sighed. "Close your eyes all the way, or it will do nothing to train your senses. I will be careful not to hurt you." She said more frustrated then kind. "Why doesn't she care to learn?" Pepperdust thought, remembering why she'd always been in awe of the warriors skills, and enchanted when she got to learn from Antswarm. ... teach, not fight.

The small silver she-cat suppressed a sigh and closed her eyes, trying not to openly glare at her mentor, who definitely was sounding less kind by the heartbeat. And the way that Pepperdust was saying it, Silverpaw could tell that her mentor did not actually mean what she had just said, and so she braced herself for the impact.Unmotivated ThunderClan Apprenticeooc ;;

Pepperdust lifted her paw, trying to remember her promise to be gentle, and swung her paw downward toward Silverpaw's face. She hoped Silverpaw would take the excursive seriously and dodge without opening her eyes. "It will be a miracle if I can make this apprentice a warrior." She thought. ... teach, not fight.

Feeling the energy from the swing of the blow, feeling the way the wind around her changed, Silverpaw darted backwards and opened her eyes, swinging her paw up to meet Pepperdust's. Her eyes were serious now, all fear banished from her mind, and all that was in her now was her will not to lose to her mentor.Unmotivated ThunderClan Apprenticeooc ;;
