Biography: Rose was raised in a small Earth pony town. Her family owned a farm like most of the other ponies in the town. However, her family had a secret; her father made her hide the fact they were unicorns. She could not do magic, and always had something on her head to hide her horn.
The only reason she survived the oppression was her wonderful Aunt, who wrote her letters in secret. Her Aunt lived in Canterlot, and encouraged Rose to try magic and not listen to her parents. When Rose got her cutie mark, her Aunt decided enough was enough, and convinced her parents to let Rose move away.
To Rose's surprise, she didn't go to live with her Aunt; she was sent to the academy.
