From BethBlog Time sure flies. 10 years ago this week, we released the PC version of the The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. While I was still a senior in college at the time, I remember it being a monumental release, and I was envious of PC gamers playing it before it released on Xbox. In the five years I’ve been working at Bethesda, I’ve learned to appreciate the game even more. The game was vital our company, and allowed us to continue the series with Oblivion and Skyrim. It never ceases to amaze me how strong Morrowind’s community remains. The modding community continues to push the game to its limits and Morrowind will always be the sentimental favorite for longtime fans. Want to go back and play the game? Grab it on sale on Steam and GameFly. Feel free to share your favorite memories in the comments section Post below.

I've got somewhere near 600 hours on both of my copies of Morrowind. What a fantastic game.

That game dragged me kicking and screaming out of the blood soaked, gibb-filled, bullet casing strewn, FPS womb that was my early gaming career and into the light of the world of RPGs that changed my outlook on life. Now I no longer just kill people for their ammo. Now I kill people for everything from their weapons, to their clothes, to their very souls!
Thank you Morrowind. You will always be the best RPG I have ever played.
Now if you gents will excuse me, I have to go kill people and take their stuff.

Morrowind is what got me started in the Elder Scrolls games. I had seen it originally in a Garage Sale when I was still in HS. I had never seen the game before, and I was intrigued to see what it was like. I popped it into my Xbox, and thus started my journey down the path of the Elder Scrolls. Of course, it took me three or so characters to get myself started, but soo I beat the game and went on to save, KILL EVERYTHING, save, complete all the guilds, KILL EVERYTHING, KILL EVERYTHING KILL EVRYTHINASODGBOUIAHSB....
Anyway, Im glad that I bought the game all those years ago, and I believe its never been better.

I was thinking about installing a fresh copy off of steam and trying the game out as something other than an Argonian, out of curiosity.
...I've never played anything but Argonians in TES games. Seriously. 3nodding
Is anyone else here that devoted to one of the races? Or am I just a big lizard-loving freak? xd

Nope I'm Dunmer all the way...look at my Gaia Avi its a Dark Elf, look at my name...it's safe to say I got a hard on for the Dunmer.
Although I have played as other race's before, I always end up spending the most time on my Dunmer characters.

Funnily enough, NT, I was considering a Dunmer for my next Morrowind run through, for the magic tanking.
...and this time, I won't jump everywhere. I promise. xd
