(( This takes place between the War and Death Clan trials. ))

The lammit squirmed under West's palm as he pushed it firmly against the table in front of him. Today was the seventh day, the last day he would be expected to take care of the creature. All he had to do was apply one final protection charm and he would be free to hand the blasted thing over to the school nurse.

If he was being perfectly honest with himself, West had no idea why he continued attending sex ed classes at all, since they were almost always embarrassing in some way. He supposed he had gone back this time because of the whole mold revelation. Who could have known that incompatible fear had the potential to cause vital parts of him to... rot. Ew. It had never been a problem before. Not that he'd gotten any in a whi...

He closed his eyes. Now was really not the time to be thinking about things like that.

"s**t." The lammit, taking advantage of his distraction, had scampered halfway down the row of desks, its little legs propelling it forward to freedom. West had chosen an empty classroom near Cricket's office as the prime location to give the creature its final rune, but he had left the door open behind him, inviting the lammit to escape. "Ge'back'ere!" he shouted, taking the two steps it took to catch the beast. He quickly knelt, slamming his arms down around the lammit and fencing it in. "Piece a'crap," he muttered. "Hold still." West stood straight again, fumbling through his pockets for the foil-wrapped charm while his lammit began furiously chewing at its own leg. As soon as he had straightened again, the animal ran off without a backward glance.

Levi was keeping her lammit as well taken care of as the rest of her minis, if not better. Giving it lots of space, she only cuddled it when it approached her; this was actually quite often. The little critter was just about as affectionate as her Sweets. Though, Levi would have no need to apply protection charms to her candy corn treat. It was a complicated subject matter. Raising the lammit was an assignment for a very special class. Sh took to applying the charms diligently every morning along with her other morning rituals.

Levi was both nervous and excited about completing this assignment successfully, carrying her lammit in one arm with her last protection charm safely in her pocket. Why was she particularly interested in this class? Levi actually liked scrapings. She hoped to have some of her own one day. Was this her way of practicing for the future? Well, yes. That was the point of the class, right? She would never have been so interested in learning these things before; if she never came to Amity. Levi was truly becoming more and more curious about these matters- those who exchanged FEAR. You exchanged FEAR with another to make a pumpkin. Any exchanges done without a successfully applied protection charm had risks. Levi sought to prevent such things.

Peering about for an empty class near Cricket's office, Levi ducked into one that seemed empty- only it wasn't. Her face went into an automatic glare, then softened seeing the runaway lammit and the boil after it. He looked to be thinking the same thing she was; that earned a smirk instead. Finishin' up are ya? Yea'll need ta be doin' it too. Promptly shutting the door behind her with her free hand, Levi stood there, watching the great chase. Eh... ya'll be needin' a hand thar? Figured yew'd be faster than that by'now, boil. Cackling, her tail swayed, obviously intrigued to see west catch the lammit. Similarly to Sweets, Levi's lammit pawed at her shirt, wanting to stay as far away from the hyperactivity. Okay- it was more of a scaredy critter than Sweets was.

West didn't look up as he continued the chase. Instead of snapping at her or turning a sneer in the ghoul's direction, he grinned and sped up, neatly heading the creature off as it resumed its scampering. He plucked it off of the desk, finally looking up at Levi once the animal was firmly in his grasp.

"An' whose fault woulddit be if I couldn't catchit?" he replied, squeezing the lammit until it went still. "It'd jus' mean m'trainer sucks, right?" West continued grinning, his eyes narrowing slightly as if daring her to take a swipe. He'd show her fast.

His fingers loosened as he deposited his homework on the table in front of him. The lammit remained dazed long enough for West to retrieve the charm from his pocket and quickly unwrap it, the delicate rune now resting in a foil nest. He placed it on the table as well, then held the recovering lammit in place as he took a seat.

With nothing left to occupy it, his attention bounced back to the tatzel. Then, as he suddenly realized that they were alone in a classroom together about to apply protection charms, the boil swiftly averted his eyes, determined to look anywhere else. He nodded. "Wanted t'put th'last charm on near Cricket'so I could dump the thing wit'her when I was done." He ran his palm over the lammit's messy fur, and it responded by nibbling his thumb a little bit harder than was strictly necessary.

Means ya'll got'a smart mouth, boil. N' yer trainer ain't pushin' ya hard 'nuff. Levi paused for a moment considering that she might have unintentionally demerited her teachings. I'll give ya'a good whoopin' next time'round. Levi's lammit tried to run up her shoulder when she approached the wrath demon and his sex ed assignment critter, but Levi's tail came around and cut it off. Tugging it back into her arms, Levi cradled it so it's head would be facing inward at her and not at the others in the room. Yers gotta sort 'a spunk, eh? Grinning smuggly at the lammit gnawing at his finger, she chuckled and took a seat opposing him, lammit in lap.

Hmm... thinkin' bout tha same thing, really. Tha critter's just missin' its kind, I reckon. Sure is mighty quiet. Handling the shaky fluff of fur, Levi settled it in her hands atop the table as well. It was likely it flee, she could tell already. Before letting go, the tatzel coiled around the lammit like a nest and topped it over with the end of her tail like a lid. Hush now... Out of a pocket in her shorts, Levi took out the wrapped protection charm she had as well, carefully ripping one side of the packaging with her teeth straight across so the rune would be easily removed.

Looking up at West again, a bubbling in her stomach caused her to try and find something else to say besides so these keep us from getting mold, that's good right? Given her situation with the boil in the haunted house, West was likely the last person she wanted to discuss mold with. Coughing to simply clear the dense air of the subject matter, she gave in and said what she could. Wonder what 'happens to 'em...

He snorted.  "Yeah, we'll see."  West was far from certain that he was capable of beating her at all, but he wasn't going to admit that, nor would he stop trying if he failed.  One day he would fight Levi and win, that much he was sure of.  The boil was normally the very opposite of patient, but he could wait for this.

The lammit chirped and squirmed, and West responded by flicking it in the tail.  "Shut up.  Not you," he added for the tatzel's benefit, not completely sure why he had done so.  It wasn't that she couldn't usually do with a bit of shutting up too, but in this case he didn't want her to.  "Yeah'ts been nothin' but trouble.  I'll be glad t'be riddof it."  He had never considered that it might miss others like itself, but such a thing was possible, he supposed.  Still, it seemed to have no interest in interacting with a fellow menace, now that one was in proximity.

"When we put these on?" he asked.  "Dunno.  Guess we'll find out now though."  West gingerly retrieved his protection charm from the table and held it out to his lammit, grabbing the creature by the scruff of its neck and pressing the rune to its fur when it seemed less than interested in touching the thing on its own.  The lammit screeched and writhed for a moment, then went motionless as if it had gone into shock.  A few seconds later it was moving again, seemingly jolted back into action by a need to groom.  West had to admit that probably wasn't a bad idea.  The animal's fur looked even more bedraggled than it had a second ago, if that was possible. "Think maybe I diddit wrong," he muttered.

Watching West's application of the rune to his lammit, Levi indeed noted the particular scruff added to the critter. Hmm... maybe. Guess ya'll might need 'a bit more practice, eh? Better luck next'time! kekeke! Levi was feeling confident that surely hers would have a different result given how well kept her lammit was. She had done everything feasible to keep it happy and well-groomed while applying the protection charms as comfortably as possible for it. There was no way she'd get this wrong.

Allowing her tail end to lift just enough to work in the rune, Levi peered through the light of the reaction to see...

...exactly the same effects as West got with his lammit. What in'tha- Starring toward the boil with a raised brow, she had to wonder if his application had somehow effected hers.

"I dun need pra—"  West frowned and crossed his arms.  There was nothing good that could come from finishing that thought.  The sound he made instead was more along the lines of one that might come from a disgruntled terrier. Surely it couldn't be that difficult to use a jackdamned protection charm?  And if this was what happened when you did, he didn't see the point.  He narrowed his eyes, watching Levi's attempt. When it seemed to go similarly, his arms dropped from their knot across his chest and he pointed, a nasty snort of laughter escaping him.

"'S'not me, see?" he chuckled.  "'Less y'wanna admit you suck too."  He was willing to entertain the idea that Cricket had given them faulty charms, if only because that alternative meant...  West shuddered slightly.  He really didn't want to get mold.

He watched his lammit groom itself for a few more seconds before rubbing his hands together.  "Welp, done withat," he said.  "Th'nurse'll hafta deal with 'em now."

Her brows straight-lined and the words weren't even needed to know what she thought about his comment. It would be left with that. For now. The boil would get his; if a

Now fer'all we know this'ere could be tha way ta do it. He didn't seem sure either, so it was possible they had both done the application correctly.

She wasn't admitting anything regardless.

Ya'll might'a just been lucky I was 'ere fer it ta work proper. - if not the reverse of his being there and ruining her work on the now scruffier lammit that was clawing from within the spiral of her tail, agitating the scales. Tch-! Levi wasn't really looking to have any scales ripped out by tiny sharp nails so it seemed wise get the suddenly rambunctious critter back to the nurse's office as well. Guess so. With the door closed and the operation complete, the tatzel uncoiled her tail, preparing to pluck the lammit up with a hand at the scruff.

The lammit, however, hand other plans. Seeing the other ball of scruffy fluff yielded a snarling and then a bound over the top of the grooming lammit. AYE! Standing to lean over and catch her critter, Levi actually was closer to climbing over the thing. Prying her lammit off of the other, the urgency to get it back to the office was all that more necessary. What in the heck had that charm just done. Alright. We're headin' on out then. She held the lammit up and glared at it sternly like a teacher disappointed in her student's behavior. The thing went from docile to scrappy in a matter of a minute and Levi wasn't sure what to make of this sort of energy.

Heading to the door, keeping the thrashing critter at an arm's length, Levi looked back before opening it to make sure West's lammit wasn't going to run right through. So they make ya'spunky, I guess... Lessons learnt by this assignment; it was one of them.

Faced with a sudden lammit attack, West's creature let out a hiss and batted the air in a poorly directed slap fight with nobody.

"Dumbass," the boil muttered, finally retrieving his own homework assignment once Levi had hers in hand.  He shrugged.  "Yeah.  Mighta been th'right thing t'do."  Even if it wasn't, he'd better not get a bad grade.  It was obviously the charm's fault.  He was sticking to that story.

West moved to follow the ghoul to the door after she turned to face him, but stopped moving once she had spoken. Spunky.  Um... yeah.  He was sure some kinds of protection charms had... added... ingredients...

He coughed.  He frowned.  He covered.  "Seems like."  He very nearly pushed past her in his hurry to get out of the room and away from the subject of protection charms and their effects on one's energy.  West peered down the hall.  There.  Cricket's office.  He cast another brief look at Levi before hurrying off in that direction.

Raising a brow momentarily to West's sudden eagerness to get to the office, she simply walked along after him. At least she could be correct in saying that energies were there that made one more actively aggressive.
