Amon is considered as evil, only because he wants to end an era and bring balance to world, he is not evil, he is infact a good guy, I am not saying Korra or Republic City Council is evil, they are not, they just want to protect a tradition. Bending harmed world more than it helped. It caused wars, it made gangs become strong and easily threat people. Bending must be stopped, Amon is doing the good, bending must be DESTROYED.

Ozai: Wanted firebenders to be the conquering race and didn't care how many innocent people he hurt.
Amon: Wants non-benders to be the conquering race and doesnt care how many innocent people he hurts.
Jet: hated one fire-bender and didn't care if he killed innocent people to get rid of them.
Amon is evil. Instead of taking away criminals bending, he's taking away bending from everyone, including the innocent. He has a gift and he's using it the wrong way.

I understand what your trying to get at but I strongly disagree. Amon has personal reasons for doing what he's doing. Yes, the world has been thrown out of balance countless times before because of bending but your're not seeing the benefits that it has brought. It's natural. I would consider it a gift if I had the ability to bend. If you think about it mostly all of the breakthroughs we've seen so far were accomplished by bending. Everything from Airships and Electricity to Cars and Radios. Even if bending is "put to an end" someone is bound to disrupt peace and prosperity some day. It'll just be a matter of time with or without bending. If you ask me, Amon is more like an Anti-Avatar. He wants to get rid of something that's ancient, something that has meaning. Just take in consideration that no one knows who Amon is yet. He can be someone from the original series or even a bender himself for all we know. He said the spirits have chose him. Now that could mean two things, bad spirits gave him the ability to spirit bend or he's just saying that to recruit his growing army. Remember he said he has "Plans", so when they slowly begin to unravel we'll have more of an understanding of what's really up his sleeve.

Bending must be stopped, Amon is doing the good, bending must be DESTROYED. i understand what you're saying but even if there weren't benders than there still would be things like gangs and wars. i don't want to take a Hobbsian view on life, but its part of human nature whether they can bend elements or not.

I do not mind Amon's thinking, so to speak, but the way he is going about it is not right or 'equal'. Bending is not an unfair advantage or curse: it should be viewed as a gift. If all the sporting people were called 'unfair' because they were physically more powerful than everyone else and could use their skills to oppress us, wouldn't that be seen as unfair? What about the scientists and the musicians?
Bending is a gift. I acknowledge Amon's view about bending and I agree: some people abuse that gift and should be brought to justice but it does not mean that no one should be allowed to bend. Like I said: bending is a gift and should be treated as such.
