It was really good to be back.
A long sigh escaped from the cat-king's throat as he passed through the portal; marking the end of his long week on the conquest island. He wasn't saying that it was terrible - in fact, part of him ached to just jump through the portal again to stay longer, but tired feet, a muddled head and a sore, possibly broken, bleeding hand was saying otherwise.
Taking a moment to look around, he waited until he was certain he was alone to find a wall and just slide down it, the floor cool and welcoming to Jack as he slumped down on it, letting himself flop to his side, the tile cooling his face down immediately, eyes closed and aching slightly from the welcoming darkness.
He wondered if he should go for the next week, the memory impressed on him from that hidden lair had made it . . . unwelcoming to consider another week of the classes, even if the horsemen had been comfortable to be around.
Sighing out loud, he decided to let his wall of pride down, allowing himself solace in this quiet hallway for as long as he could handle.

The school was lonely when there weren't as many people around for her to be with. No really, she'd spent a lot of time just roaming and making sad faces of loneliness with her little pack of Bakekitsune. It wasn't as though anybody was going to come across them as they roamed, after all. Nobody was there!
Or rather, it seemed somebody who was supposed to be out on their lovely trip wasn't, as Tomoko rounded another hallway and suddenly Desades went bounding towards the familiar figure, barking and tapping at Jack's knee with an assortment of happy noises to his name. All the happiness. All of it. Tomoko frowned lightly.
"Jack? You're back so soon?" she asked as she approached to give the nekogami a hug. After all, he did look like he wasn't doing too great, even as she sat down next to him and put her arm around his shoulder, leaning her head against his with a small noise.

The nekogami didn't know when he had fallen asleep, but it was when the Bakekitsune he knew as Desades started nudging at his knees, that he woke up again, his eyes lighting up and opening at the yipping and quirks. As his consciousness bubbled back up, he gave sound liken to a cat being woken up from a wonderful nap, before realizing that Tomoko had sidled up beside him, her arms draped over his high shoulders already, asking him questions that took him a moment to register.
"Tomo?" He murmured softly from his sleepy lull, the fog of his eyes disappearing momentarily, before he lifted himself up to his full sitting height again, lifting his hands to his eyes to rub them, his raw hand aching as he pressed it against his face. "We were allowed a stay for 24 hours, to let us catch up with those who stayed behind." He explained, lowering his fine hand to pay attention to the little fox who was nipping at his knees playfully, rubbing it behind the ears.
"I must have been tired, I don't remember when I fell asleep . . . or really getting here." He murmured, a little bit of confusion in his voice, letting his head lean in to her golden hair. "But, you should have seen it, it was kind of like a dream, so much happening at the same time. So many rules and clothes and colours . . ." He trailed, softly.

Desades was appreciative of the attentions he had gotten, leaning into the ear scratches he received, his little tail wagging. Oh, he liked Tomoko's friends always and a lot. They were so good to him. Always good to him.
Tomoko herself listened to Jack attentively as he explained what it was he was back home already. A day off between islands, hmm? It sounded like it would be potentially pleasant to Tomoko, and the kitsune brushed her fingers through his hair thoughtfully. "Oooohhh, it sounds like you had quite the time, Jack." she said as she groomed him over, fussing over him like he was one of her younger siblings.
"It sounds like it was beautiful." she noted, seeming to sigh sadly. She very much would have liked to see it herself. Maybe in the future they'd get a chance to go and take a look at it again. Maybe. She imagined there weren't many 'HORSEMAN ISLE VACATION' pamphlets floating about, however. So it would be a dream put on the back burner for the time being. After a moment, she looked to his hand, frowning as she took it, her fingers running over it delicately with a small frown. "Jack." she said flatly, the smallest of a frown on her face. "What happened to your hand?" she inquired, giving him a sad look.
Had he gotten hurt by something on the island?
Were the islands being mean to her friends? She wouldn't stand for that!

Smiling softly to the little minipet, he continued the affection, whispering lyrics of some song softly, mixed it with a soft murmur as her fingers ruffled his hair. One ear was pinned to Tomoko at all times. He would give anything to hear what she said - her opinion rest highest of all those in Amityville.
Green eyes peered over at her when he heard the saddened tinge of her voice, he attempted to look a bit apologetic - he knew she was interested in the lands and what he could explain, he closed his eyes for a moment before admitting "I actually have compiled a bunch of drawings and pictures and a bit of fabrics I was able to secure from the island." He wanted to surprise her later, but the pout she had on her face was just too sincere.
A sound emitted from the large cat when she asked him the question he dreaded, kind of like when a cat is caught doing someting wrong. LIfting his hand from his face, he looked at it momentarily, with a frown on his face. "Uh, classes on Conquest had finals, and mine was to get these pretty orbs from . . . well it kind of looked like a bear trap? It had teeth." He murmured, before clenching his hand slowly, the pain a fresh reminder. "I missed a few times, safe to say."
"Guess I wasn't as quick as I thought."
