Prompt 1 - The Strangers

[ The Strangers: ] You notice there is something wrong with your friends, their bodies are slowly showing strange signs of infection, tips of their fingers, eyes, arms, turning grey. At first it does not seem like a huge issue, until you notice from the corner of your eye the way they look at you, hungry, as you turn around, the way they move together, eerily in unison, the way they whisper to you, sparking your greatest paranoia.

Your friends have been replaced by the Insanity, and you know it wont be long before it takes over them entirely your friends now only strange, mocking replicas. Even if you show your friends mercy, they begin to attack you, screaming and hissing about bringing you Home. Desperate, you fight them off, you realize you need to kill your friends and bring them peace. One by one, you take out each of your friends, as they chase you. One by one they turn to stone until there is only one left. Just one more person, you can do this.... You finally wake up, none of this is real, yet you feel as if you remember seeing a flash of grey tainting your friends. Can you really trust them?

Prompt 2 - The Chaser

[ The Chaser: ] You wake up, and the first thing you see in your room is a shadow from the corner of your eye. You recognize them: a person, a creature perhaps, someone from your greatest fears, but there is something off about them, the colour washed away from their appearance, grey, as they get closer they talk to you in convoluted whispers that cause you to shake in terror as you reach one hand out -

- Somehow you escape and meet up with your friends. You try to tell them something is after you but no-one believes you. They laugh it off. Slowly, during the course of the day, you watch them get killed, one by one, and even as you try to fight the assailant, seemingly invincible, off one last time, you realize that you are the only one who can see them. They make a gruesome spectacle of your last friend and slowly turn to you... you realize there is no escape. They whisper to you, perhaps words you understand, perhaps something nonsensical entirely, playing on your greatest fears and paranoia. At long last, you accept your fate, and just right before the pain escalates, you finally, truly wake up for real, but something grey shifts in the corner of your eye.

Dakota went to bed alone, lulled to sleep by the sound of snoring, talking and sounds of his fellow hunters.

---

He awoke with a warm body in his arms, the soft smell of a female and bright red buns poking in his eyes. This certain body he held, she once was taller, a little bigger then him. Now with his growth spurt and constant working out, he got to be the big spoon to a circus expertise.

He snuggled in her neck, biting a spot and grinned.

"Good morning Clerise." His voice was still groggy with sleep, rough with drowsiness. "When did you sneak in?"

She didn't make a sound though, didn't make a move. He blinked, wondering if she still slept peacefully. Well that wouldn't last long would it!?

"Cleriseeeeeeeeee...." He wrapped his arms around her waist, rolling them so that she could flip to look at him. He was still grinning as her face turned to his.

"Stop moving me you damn Brat, Damn, I heard you the first time." She shoved his face away from hers and glared, one red eye cracking open. She yawned, still shoving his kissy face away, "Augh, Is it time to get up already?"

Dakota smile widened as he attempted to bend his head down from her palm, though his face was pushed away, he held strong to her waist before shrugging. "Don't know, I was awake so you got to be awake!" He was met with a groan from her and a shove...off the small cot they had been sharing.

"Your a ******** Dakota." She flipped him off, shoving herself off the bed as well and right on to him, straddling with her knee's on the floor on each side...hands resting on his chest. Her face was the epitome of a sly cat who had found their prey. Surprisingly, he took it well, flexing his newly forming abs for the impact and breathing out as she landed on him. His head reached up greedily for the teasing kiss before she pushed off him and strutted away.

"Get ready for some mission's boy. Then we can play later."

Dakota sighed as she left and did as she said. Missions.

"I hear you Dakota, Move out of the way." Marcus slide past his moon hunter companion to slide an attack at the blob, disengrating the blob into nothing. A quick high five, a slap on the a** and a Ahem from the two moon hunters before smiling.

"What's that-" Dakota started...

"Number Eight I think..." Marcus smiled, shrugging. "It's about time we get back though, I need a goddamn bath after hanging with your stinky a** all day." Marcus stretched, giving Dakota a pointed stare.

"Excuse me, My sweat and bodily odor emits a manly and attracting scent Marcus. All the ladies love it..." Dakota took a deep whiff of himself and grinned, "Man that is GOOOOD." In which case he got a equally hard shove from Marcus and a roll of the eyes.

"Come on you weird a** creeper, I don't even just-" Marcus shook his head, heading back to the underground.

Dakota followed closely behind, Still grinning. "Hey...Is there something with your arm dude?" Dakota barely even noticed the graying of his fingers and pointed at it. "Did that blob get you or something bro?"

Marcus looked down at it, stared for a bit before shrugging it off. "Don't know, Could be dust....Ash...Once I get that shower, I bet it'll be gone." Dakota sighed and followed....and thought for a moment he heard Marcus whisper something about "home." Weird. Did the Moon hunter miss the dorms that much?

---

"Dakota!" A voice muffled by a mask called out to him, the moon hunter turning his head to look over before catching glance at his Brother Wilson. As the Death hunter came over, his weapon desummoned and set back into the goggles Wilson wore his neck all the time. "Dakota we got a serious problem." The death hunter's voice was hurried as he pulled Dakota to the side.

"Look I don't know how it happened but there's an infection in here." Wilson pointed at Eva...Reine who sat by each other. Their bodies covered in grey, their eyes sunk in as they whispered to each other. "Of Insanity? Maybe another attack from the horsemen but I don't know. Everyone has been weird..."

"What the ******** is it? Are they going to be okay?" Dakota blinked as he continued looking at the hunters. It looked like Eva and Reine weren't the only victims, Rep...Ryan....Harrison...Jordan....Molly...Otto....Jude....Gale...Jesus even Candace's mocha skin was tinting with gray. And they were whispering...so much ******** whispering. Looking at each other, looking at him.

"Dude, what the hell is wrong with everyone?" His voice seemed so loud among their whispering, echoing that had each and everyone of his friends looked over at him. Their eyes though...it made his hair stand up on his arm, shivers down his spine.

As if they communicated telepathically, they formed together in one group, turning on him and the Death hunter.

"s**t we need to get out of here Wilson-" He turned to his brother, who was fading to gray.

"Home...Da..ko..ta..." Wilson creaked out, grabbing Dakota. "Home!" He screeched as the hunters descended on him like a pack of wolves. He kicked Rep away, then Candace before making a run for it.

They followed him, screeching home...home...home. His body felt heavy as he tried to pick a path out...though it wasn't long till they caught up to him. He sucked in breath as he was tackled...Harrison? No, it wasn't the moon hunter anymore...It ...was something else.

"You guys aren't...." Dakota sucked in breath before shaking his head. It was them, taken over by insanity. He punched Harrison in the face but the thing rebounded back quickly.

With no other choice, he pulled Chama out and took a threatening slice at the Moon hunter. His brother...His moon brother. A thin line of blood streaked along the gray skin, a contrast.

"Harrison, Back the ******** off bro.." Dakota scrambled up as Harrison moved back. He thought he was getting through..."You just want to stay there..." But then Harrison was joined by the other hunters.

They were all chanting home. Come home.

"No...No Stay back Harrison." He breathed in as Harrison moved to attack again, he brought Chama up at the same time and time stopped. Time stopped at his will as he felt that same red flow over his hands. Looking down he saw the blood staining his skin, staining the hunter jacket of Harrison before pulling back. "s**t, ********, Harrison."

"Home, Come Home Dakota....So alone...Home." The thing reached out using Harrison like a puppet before it stopped moving completely.

Dakota choked on a sob as he faced the other hunters....His only escape...his only way to freedom was to kill his friends. But There was Eva...and Reine and Candace and Jordan-So many...he couldn't.

"Home." They said in unison as they descended on him again. He choked on another sob as he twirled Chama around in his hands, switching from right to left as he killed them.

A slash to Candace's throat, a stab to Jordan's heart, He flipped down, kicking Rep in the face knocking him back as he fought them off, he ignored the red curls of Molly, the petite form of Reine. This weren't his friends, these weren't his friends. . And when he finished....he stood past a pile of dead bodies. He didn't notice the stone bodies though....He didn't see how they faded from red to gray and covered his face, He saw blood...the blood of his friends on his hands.

His hunter jacket wasn't faded with blood but stone dust. He didn't see it.

"I killed them all." He just stood astonished....Marcus, Wilson, Ryan...Eva...Reine...Rep...Molly-The list went on. They all lied behind him in stone. And he moved away, looking away...All of them but one...All of them but one....

And heard her. One last body. One last member. His hope died at that moment.

"Clerise..." There she stood, Bright red hair tied in her little cat ear buns. Tight leotard with her jacket over. High heeled boots. He could see the clothes...he could see her skin: Gray, he could see her eyes: Hungry. "You too huh? Figures haha." He just stood as she came to him, wrapped her arms his waist.

"Home....Home....Home....Home" She repeated, her voice starting out as a whisper then gaining volume as she screeched in his ear, clawing at his waist, his arms. One single tear fell from his eye as he held her close.

"Guess we don't get to play after all." He held her tight....and plunged Chama into her back. He saw red fall....and then stone.

----

He woke with tear's staining his cheeks, touching them. He woke aware and scared and just for a moment briefly...he saw the flash of gray. Chama slipped from her sheath in a instant as he looked at Wilson who had come to check up on him.

"Dakota..." Wilson's voice was stern as he pushed the dagger away from him and frowned, "Have a Nightmare brother?"

A nightmare....or a premonition?
