Dr. Hughes appeared in his lab via elevator. How he did this, no one but Dr. Hughes would know. Quickly however, he went to the wing of his lab and placed Jon's unconscious body on a stretcher. Then before waking him up, he went over to the power source of the lab, and flipped the switch, many dark blue lights came on as the humming of the power core in the middle of his lab buzzed to life, immediately filling the metal chamber with a machine like humming. To others this place was very uneasy, to Dr. Hughes though, it was his safe haven. Soon computers came to life and with it more mechanical whirling. Indeed this was a true lab. After marveling at his home however, the good doctor went over to Jon, and touched his neck, and in the process touching his chi point which would immediately wake him up. To Jon, the process of sleeping and waking would be something like instant transportation.

"I take great pride in my laboratory, few know it exists, and even fewer know its location. I intend to keep it that way, so certain precautions must be taken when I bring visitors into my home". The doctor walked away from the stretcher and got up onto a chair...a rocket chair. The chair hovered up in the air with the doctor looking down upon Jon. He controlled it with a simple lever, and despite a bit of heat emanating from the bottom, the chair was cool to the touch and no sound was made. Hovering downwards, the doctor took out a clean syringe, and without much warning he quickly, but quite surprisingly painlessly drew blood from Jon. "It will take me a bit to analyze this blood sample, so until then make yourself at home. The restroom is to your right, there is a stocked fridge in the backroom, and there is computer for visitors use over on the left wall. In it you will find digital versions of all the book in the school library so feel free to train as long as you don't wreck anything. Think I am angry when people make small jokes? Try breaking something in my lab..you'll wish death had come much sooner". And with that hearty but rather scare warning, the good doctor went over to one of his tables, and placed the blood of Jon under the microscope. For a good while he would observe the sample, writing down notes as he looked through the glass.

"Hmph, if humanity would gets its head out of its asses and not worry so much about greed and power, places like this could be all over the world....dedicated to the betterment of humanity...Until then however, that is where you will see amazing things like this, in books and movies". Observantly he spent a good hour doing nothing but staring at Jon's blood, his facial expression going from one of interest, and to that of worry. He scowled as he noticed something interesting as the doctor said, "It is as I feared. The ki in your blood is already starting to destroy cells..soon you will be suffering tissue damage as your own ki will begin to disintegrate your organs". The good doctor tore himself away from the blood staring straight at Jon saying, "The simple matter is that the average human body was not meant to support so much ki produced by two Gene-X's. You have to much ki running through you...and from what I have seen from your blood...We have less time than I originally thought".

The doctor thought about it, and answered with, "Not much time, less than 2 weeks I would assume". The doctor hovered over to Jon and stared at him, straight into his eyes saying, "All is not lost though...for now...I cannot come up within a immediate solution, but I have a temporary solution to your problem, and a method you could possible level up at the same time".

"We need to get rid of all your ki in order to gain some time for me to find a more permanent to your dilemma. I suggest we put you in a situation where you will expend ALL of your Ki...after that happens...it will take some time before your body to start regernerating that ki...But in order to expend as much as possible, we need to put you in a highly stressful situation". The doctor then smiled mischeviously.

Doctor Hughes scruffed his mustache, already knowing what he was going to do. Oh he marveled at how much of a genius he was..if Jon didn't know better, he would say Doctor Hughe's head was getting bigger every moment. But indeed what he was about to do could possibly change the way how people react to the Gene-X. Most importantly, it would answer a very important question...one the Doctor himself had been much inclined to solve. "Follow me", with that he took his chair and hovered off to the otherside of the lab, where an elevator awaited him. He beckoned for Jon to follow.

With Jon on the elevator, the elevator began to quickly descend a vertical tunnel. Strobing lights flickered as they went down until finally the elevator got to the point where it entered a big room. Since the elevator was just a platform they were standing on, Jon could see what this room was comprised of. It was a big, stadium sized room...it was completely empty save for the ridiculously large machine smack dab in the middle of the room. It was huge, it looked like a giant metal pillar with computers surrounding it. The room was filled with a loud humming noise, no doubt caused by the machine. Electricity sparked and traveled up and down the giant metal pillar as what seemed to be Ki energy itself in its purest form surrounded the pillar like rings surrounding Saturn as they made a constant revolution.

Getting off the elevator, Dr. Hughes made his way towards the machine in his hovering chair. Approaching it, Dr. Hughes neared the part of the machine that would decide Jon's fate...and the fate of many others. "Sit", Dr. Hughes said, as he gestured to a chair in a hollowed out space within the machine itself. The chair was also metallic but it looked peculiar. On its arm rests were 2 large tubes, specially designed for someone to put their arms in..and connected to those tubes were many wires.

As Jon would go and sit down (assuming he didn't chicken out), The doctor activated a very large computer screen in front of him, the screen blaring to life as it displayed machine statistics, graphs, and many other representations of the machines functionality.
