Well, this was certainly a 'pleasant' little island.
The seabreeze was nice, the ocean was near, there was plenty of foliage to be found, buuuut nevertheless it wasn't quite Keela's preferred type of place. Still though, she figured she may as well have a look around and see if there were any interesting meat sources here that couldn't be found on the mainland. As it was she had already spotted a number of rather unfamiliar birds and such in the trees, so it couldn't hurt to look.
Of course, she was distracted from her hunt for a meal when she caught a scent that was clearly 'kirin' nearby. It was odd though, there was something vaguely familiar about it... She followed the scent to it's source, curious, and had to pause when she finally found the kirin in question. "You're still alive?"
... Perhaps not the most 'courteous' of greetings that she could have given to the four-winged stallion before her, but given how their last meeting had gone she'd have figured for sure that he'd have finished himself off from paranoia or something by now. It had been a very very long time.

This place seemed quiet enough, the stranger creatures left him alone for the most part. After running off a few predators that thought he would make a good meal, Draven had settled on this small island and considered it home. wandering the shore line for a time, letting the salty sea air fill him before heading back into the forest, It was here that something caught his attention as three words reached long ears. Turning his head he watched the raven like mare appear from what her thought shadows.
"And here I thought you would be happy to see me." He said sarcastically before shaking his head and looked away from the mare, "The mainland lose your interest? It did mine."
While he was still a bit paranoid about his whole experience with humans. He had grown a little out of it and was living a little more reasonably. Out here on his own he had little fear of endangering anything and anyone. Now that this mare was here, someone he just barely remembered. He never remembered her name, but he knew that there was only one raven like mare out there. That he ever met anyways..

"Every place loses my interest after too long," she replied wryly. "That's why I keep traveling." But in all her travels thus far on this new land, she'd had yet to ever run into another that she had met before in their old home. It was a bit odd, perhaps, but she had simply assumed that most hadn't survived the journey. Apparently there was at least one familiar stallion around to prove her wrong. "Nice little piece of land you got here. Been here for long?" She didn't intend to stay for very long herself really. Just long enough to explore a bit and maybe get a few meals out of it. Then it would be back to wandering.

Draven gave a sort of shrug when he was asked how long he had been on the island. It hadn't been all that long, but long enough to have a cozy cave to himself and all the greens he could eat. "Long enough to make myself to home. Though some of the locals didn't much care for the idea. But they seem to have accepted my presence on this island." Lifting his head some to the air, he seemed to sniff at it before turning and walking in another direction.
"Also seems that some of the locals head this way. I'm not a meat eater like some, so I just move along." he glances at the raven mare. "But I imagine that you might be?" leaving that one loose ended, he stepped through the ferns as the scampering of feet grew closer. Large horned deer loped just past the trees behind where Draven had been standing. A lone stag seemed to lead a small herd of does and fawns. "Going to try your luck?" Draven's voice drifted from the shadows as he seemed to stand, watching.

The 'locals'? Keela turned her head toward the small herd, eyeing them vaguely curiously, but without much actual interest. "They're a bit closer to us than what I care to typically eat," she said with a light shrug. Not to mention the waste of good meat with their large size. "Find me a lone wolf or jackal or feline or something and we'll be in business." Of course, she could always just stalk the herd to see if anything else tried to hunt one of their members. It was a bit of a slow strategy, but it usually worked sooner or later. Glancing back at the shadows that the other had stepped into, she said, "What of you? You must have such a thrilling time hunting down those plants and all." Of course she had come to realize that most kirin didn't feel the need to hunt their meals down, but that didn't mean that it had to make sense to her.

"And here I didn't think you would care of what you ate. They never cared what they killed or tortured." Draven shook his head before turning again and heading deeper into the trees. The meat eaters I have encountered don't seem to care either. Most even kill their own children, eat them as well, sometimes."
Flicking his tail behind him, Draven moved away from the herd of deer like animals and back towards one of the many clearing on the island. Here the light seemed to dim down a bit no matter how bright it was elsewhere. Around the fringes were dark tangles of vines and brambles. Nothing seemed to be growing on them at the moment, but if one were to look closer at the clusters, there would be small buds dotting the vines in between the dark colored leaves.

'They'? Was he talking about those stupid two-legged creatures of his again? She followed after him uninvited and snorted at his remark on eating children. "Think what you will, but I'm not a cannibal. I just enjoy a more varied diet than most." She did still eat some plant matter, after all. Namely fruits and the like. It was just that she had a very strong preference for meat over greens. If other Kirin tried it more often then perhaps they'd see why. "Nice little clearing here. Rest here a lot?" Of course, why she was bothering to try to make conversation even she wasn't entirely sure. The stallion before her wasn't particularly the most sociable of creatures, and neither was she more often than not. Still, when traveling around, occasional conversation with others couldn't hurt. ... Maybe.
