Library Rules
Here are the rules of the Gaia Library! These rules are to be followed throughout the whole guild. 1. Follow Gaia ToS 2. Be nice 3. No spamming 4. No bumping 5. No trolling 6. Do not steal anything in this guild 7. Each subforum has it's own set of rules, follow them 8. In the subforums don't post a new topic unless the subforum's rules say that you can 9. Most official topics (meaning topics that were made by me or the guild mule (librarian nadeshiko) that are official books of the library or something else that I can't seem to explain right now, so I'll edit this and explain it when I can. If it was made by the guild mule it's always official, if it was made by me it's not official unless said otherwise.) will have their own set of rules, you must follow them 10. The main forum is sort of like the chatterbox, you can talk about many things in it, you can make your own topics, that stuff, but don't go off topic in the subforums 11. If a book was made by someone else I will include a link to the topic and say who it was made by, if you like the book be sure to click on the link to the topic and <3 it 12. Include flying llamas at the end of your post when you post to say that you read the rules and to tell me when you joined, and make it white 13. If you have any questions about the guild go to the Questions & Assistance subforum, read the rules, and ask your questions 14. If you have any questions about the guide, feel free to ask here 15. Everyone must have a Library Card 16. If you don't follow the rules, I have the right to disregard your post, topic, or PM and/or delete the post or topic if necessary 17. It is your responsibility to check each of the subforum's rules to see if they've changed, not my responsibility to notify you 18. No duplicate topics/guides (Meaning no topics of the same thing by the same people) 19. Be nice 19. Have fun

Library Cards
Hm, it seems the machine to make the cards has broken down! This feature will be unavailable until we get it working again! We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
You need a library card to access this Library. It will look something like this:
You need to have a library card! So fill out this form: Avatar URL: (This is found by right clicking your avatar in the header (where you would press to dress your avatar) and pressing copy image URL. Then you just paste it here.) Name: (This is what you would like to be called or are normally called. It must be part of your username.) Title: (This can either be your rank in the guild or a part of your username, for example notice how in librarian nadeshiko's library card the title is librarian and the name is nadeshiko.) To make sure that no one uses the library without a library card you have to fill out the form before you join.
Here are the current members' library cards in order of their rank in the guild:
I will update this list each time a new member gets their library card.

You can also make your own banner if you want to! Just make it and post it here!

FAQ
This is the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). Currently there are no frequently asked questions, so ask them! I might put a few that I have thought of on my own here, but they're not really frequently asked questions if I thought of them are they? So ask away!
Q: What is the Gaia Library? A: Well that's simple! It's a library for gaia! It has all sorts of guides, quizzes, and books! Some books are user made, others aren't! Some guides were made by others and were put here with their permission, and others weren't.
Q: What can be done in the Gaia Library? A: Well, you can participate in various quizzes for prizes. You can look at various guides to help you around gaia. You can read various books too that might help you around gaia. You can create your own books under their respective categories. You can make your own quizzes. The more the guild develops, the more things there will be for you to do!
Q: How did you come up with the idea to make a gaia library? A: Well, this guild use to be something else, but it failed. I was going to sell it, but I couldn't figure out how. Eventually I decided to make it into something else. The problem was that I didn't know what to make it. So I searched gaia for ideas for a guild, and I came across a post saying that a good idea would be to think of something both creative and helpful. I had to take a shower at that point. While I was in the shower I was thinking of what I should make the guild into that is both helpful and creative. I thought of a guild for guides, that's helpful right? All I needed was a fun and creative twist to it that I can use to make sure people are active and using the guild. Soon I thought of making there be quizzes too! Next I started thinking of the name. I spent most of my time in the shower trying to come up with the name for the guild. The reason it took so long to think of one is because ideas for the contents of the guild kept popping into my head. Eventually I thought of the Gaia Library! I can't remember if I thought of users creating books in the shower or after I got out of the shower, but I think it was after I got out of the shower either when I was creating it or a few days later when I was working on it.
Q: Is this the first gaia library? A: I don't know, so far I haven't found any gaia libraries other than mine that are for all things gaia. I looked up Gaia Library in the gaia search and narrowed it down to guilds only, but I didn't find any guilds that are libraries for all things gaia. Do you want to check? I came up with the idea for the guild and started making the guild on the same day which was Friday April 27, 2012. Go ahead and look it up if you want, let me know if you find anything!
Q: Are there books about things outside of gaia? A: At the moment there aren't, but I will probably be making a few subforums for each genre, if you have made your own book or are making your own book you can share it in the correct forum. There is already a subforum for history, but it's not for things outside of gaia, yet. In the future I might make these subforums of genres for published books as well, but if I do there will be rules for it, one of which would be that you can't write out the book there, you can only put a summary of it, and if there are multiple books, the title should be the name of the series not the specific book, and your first post shall contain the first book, the second post the second book, the third post the third book, and so on. If you want this to happen please let me know!
Q: What are official topics? A: Official topics are official library books or things that are official for the guild, like the rules are official, the affiliates are official, stuff like that and official guild quizzes. Still confused? Sorry, I can't explain it any better.
Q: Can my topic become an official topic? A: Yes, it can. If your topic is a guide it can become an official book, but it needs to be up to date to become an official book. If your topic is a book you made yourself it can be an official book, but it has to be considered good. Both will have to be entered in a contest by a user who didn't make it and voted upon to become an official book.
Q: What are Official Book Contests? A: Official Book Contests will take place every now and then. If you have a guide or a book in the guild it can become an official book, that is what the contests are for.
Q: How do Official Book Contests work? A: If you have made a book or a guide your book or guide can be volunteered to be entered in the Official Book Contest by someone else. A book will be entered right away, however a guide will have to be review to see if it is up to date before it is entered. Once the maximum number of entries has been reached the voting will begin. There is a certain amount of books that can become official books each contest. Lets say this contest is allowing a maximum of 5 books to become official books. Each user will vote on which book they want to become an official book, however no one is allowed to vote for their own book. You are given points on your library card equal to the amount of books that are going to become official books to spend on voting. Since this imaginary contest is having 5 books become official books, everyone gets 5 points to spend on voting. You may use them on as many books as you want, or just one book, but you can't use them in the next contest so use them in this one! The voting ends on a specific date no matter how many people have voted as long as there is at least 1 vote, lets say this imaginary contest ends on the fourth of November. Once the voting is over the 5 books with the most votes become official books. Each of the users that created the books will get a prize depending on what place they are in. The last 10 users to vote on each of the books will get a prize depending on which place the book they voted on is in.
Q: When is the first Official Book Contest going to be? A: Well that depends on the users, of course! For the first contest there will be a limit of 30 books that can be entered, each time a new book is made by the users it will be entered into the contest. There will be a maximum of 6 books that will become official books. The date it ends will be determined when it starts. This is only for the first Official Book Contest!
Q: Can I ask questions? How? A: Of course! You can always ask questions! Make sure your question hasn't already been covered, if your question hasn't been covered go to the Questions & Assistance subforum and read the rules, once you've read the rules ask your question!
