Vengeance From The Skies

Sephiroth was chased down, all across three continents, but everyone, was far too late. Cloud is gone, unable to resist the lure of the Reunion, Aeris never summoned Holy, because Sephiroth never needed Meteor. A worse outcome has evolved out of the crisis, the Reunion was complete, there are no more children with geostigma, no more SOLDIERs with Jenova cell infusions, even the once great Sephiroth is no more, his insanity leading him to resurrect the calamity from the skies, whom he called mother. Jenova has been reborn, with her original power combined with the skills of Sephiroth, and the world faces a new crisis far worse than Meteor.

J-E-N-O-V-A Resurrection

The planet searches for a new hero, someone with the skill and power to defeat the Calamity Reborn, and its running out of time...

Yep! 3nodding

The sleek helicopter streaked over the city of Midgar, towards the landing pad on the top of the Shinra building. There seemed to almost be an unnatural calm in the area. The lights of the Shinra building were subdued. Reeve waiting atop the building for the helicopter to land. Elena was piloting the craft, as usual, while Tseng and Aeris sat behind, regarding one another, niether knowing what to say just now. Below them in the top story office of the grand structure, Heidegger was arguing with Scarlet who was sitting in the presidential chair, which the guffawing general wanted for himself. Far to the north, the horizon was lit by an unearthly glow, the cyan of the life stream blending with the purple reds of the sunset, and the black smokey tentacles from the crater. Little detail could be seen from this distance, but the occupants of the helicopter knew what it meant. Almost a year had passed since Rufus had dissappeared, and the self proclaimed ex-soldier Cloud Strife had died after giving the black materia to the hybernating Sephiroth. Tseng only earlier that day caught up with Aeris Gainsborough in Cosmo Canyon. She'd chosen to accompany him back rather than stay with the remnants of Avalanche there. The everpresent shadow from the northern crater was an ominous reminder that no one was out of danger. It couldn't be long before one side won, in that contest of wills betwen the life stream and the reunion. No one could get in or out of the area for the fierce battling energies. All they could do, was wait, and see. All this and more was etched in the minds of the three exitting the now landed helicopter, waiting to be greeted by Reeve.

Elena was subdued and quiet during the extent of the flight. She had only just become a Turk when the disaster had struck, she was still kind of in shock. Glancing covertly at Tseng she lost herself in thought once again, Why had all this happened? What had they done wrong?? And now Rufus was gone, Shinra seemed on the brink of collapse... and the rest of the world seemed ready to follow. She shut her eyes tightly,... somehow it seemed to be all her fault...

Tseng held a sigh inside as he once again saw the darkness far against the horizon. Straightening his back determinedly, he gave a reassuring nod to Elena and walked forward to Reed. He held his hand out for a polite greeting. "It would have been better to meet in less troubled times, but that was not our fate it seems." He said with a nod. They were indeed evil days, and if the people wanted to keep together, the members that were left of the ShinRa company would have to be the ones to do it. For if not, then who would?

Reeve shook Tseng's hand then turned to Elena for the same gesture. Finally his gaze fell on Aeris. "It is good to meet you in person at last, I am Reeve Tsuesti, I'm sorry any troubles my alter ego may have put you through, but I really was trying to help." He sighed, hearing a particularly loud shout from the office behind him. "I can promise you I am prepared to do everything in my power to help you and protect you." He left it at that, waiting to see how she would respond, he was still a little surprised she'd agree'd to come with them, perhaps the death of that soldier in the crater had something to do with it. He had observed the two of them seemed to have some sort of bond. His insight had been a gift, or a curse depending on how one looked at it, and given the chance he probably would have said they were perfect for each other.

Aeris was still in something of a daze as the helicopter landed and she was helped out of the vehicle. It was all to surreal, the way things were so quickly falling to pieces, it would only be a matter of time before everyone died. She looked up and managed a weak smile as Reeve(yes I'm going to spell it that way) introduced himself. "You look a lot less...fuzzy." She managed with a shallow laugh. "I'm not sure why I'm so important though...I don't think there's anything I can do really..." She shook her head. "I'm not sure there's anyone who could do anything about it."

"And that is exactly why we have to try." Tseng replied to Aeris' musings, giving her a nod of reassurance. "We'll need everyone we can to help out, and hopefully someday, the world will be restored." He said, perhaps too optimistically. "Anyway, let's get inside so we can figure out whats steps we have available for us to take." he suggested to Reeve, ((that's what I figured. ^_^)) and held his hand out to Aeris, offering to escort her.

Reeve smiled, nodding at Aeris then turning back to Tseng. "Tseng, there is something I'd like to talk to you about as soon as you have a moment. Allright?"

Tseng replied with his own nod. "Of course, sir." he said, then turned to his Turk associate. "In fact, Elena, why don't you take Aeris inside with you, while Reeve and I find someplace to talk." he suggested, looking with a sigh at how small the numbers of helpful people had become. They had had a chance, but where did they do wrong? Was it really anyone's fault that the planet's condition had spiraled down so quickly?

Elena looked up startled, and was ashamed to find that her mind had been wandering. "Yes sir," She nodded and gave a short salute. Whatever happened they could always keep trying! The Turks would not die out... she hoped. Elena turned to Aeris who seemed to be in no better condition than herself, "Come on, lets go." She said curtly, but tried to smile, wrapping one hand in Aeris's as she began to lead the young woman into the building.

"I guess it's just us girls then eh?" Aeris said in a too-cheerful tone. Her voice was like everyone and everything these days, brittle and about to break, it seemed only a matter of time now, before no one could hide behind a weak smile and weaker hope anymore.

OOC: Sheesh, it's gotten angstier with Cloud gone rolleyes
