Prompt Rolls

Roll 1d100

1-10: You find the body of a fallen hunter, their weapon tablet lies on the ground but crumbles as you reach for it. The pieces quickly shift and expand into a large, insane creature. It's form is not very solid, and more cloud-like than anything.
Boss Stats
HP: 50
Auto Damage: 5 (hit or miss)
Extra: because of it's form, use a -8 modifier for accuracy! This does not count with charged attacks!

11-32: A small, semi-solid creature snatches at you with painful claws and teeth.
Mob Stats
HP: 5
Auto Damage: 2 (hit or miss)

33: A very solid form attacks you, it's species is recognizable despite the desaturated form and flowing eyes. It's attacks are powerful and relentless!
Boss Stats
HP: 99
Auto Damage: 10 (hit or miss)

34-65: A large, semi-solid creature barrels into you! It's slow-moving but a bit more powerful than the smaller ones.
Mob Stats

Auto Damage: 3 (hit or miss)

66: A bunch of smaller, semi-solid forms attack you in a large group!
Boss Stats
HP: 66 (collective health)
Auto Damage: 6 (hit or miss)

67-89: Nothing happens.

90-98: A small, fairly solid creature swiftly begins attacking you!
Mob Stats
HP: 15
Auto Damage: 5 (hit or miss)

99-100: A creature that skillfully shifts from solid to fog-like, it's incredibly dangerous and difficult to handle.
Boss Stats
HP: 99
Auto Damage: 10 (hit or miss)
Extra: because of it's skill with its form, use a -8 modifier for accuracy! This does not count with charged attacks!

Location: the Main Building
Amount to be cleared: 33
Until then: hunters may not leave the island except for mission purposes due to limited portal availability! That means nobody gets their personal weekends off-island! Also the newly renovated kitchens won't be usable. ): Remember what real food tastes like? (FYI: all hunters up to this point will be given a week of leave every month, and their personal debit cards. So an extra incentive for lambs!)

Molly stood at the entrance of what was home for right now, peering out into the silent and eerie fog covered landscape of Deus.

She bit on the end of her glove as something to fidget with as she just stared, stared and waited. She was…kind of hoping someone would come by who would happen to need another person on the team to go help out and clear the area. She shook her head as the doubt tried to creep in, the one that said that no one needed her to help. No, no…it was good to be open no matter what…and as a Mist, if someone was lacking a spot on their team, she could fill it!

Hopefully.

Okay, she had some clothes. All the outfits she could stuff in her bag, she had them. They were safe. Now she just had to help out the rest of the compound. Candace had priorities, okay? They were:
Clothes
Bed
Important things of sentimental value
Being able to get off the island to have some ******** personal time.

They earned it, okay?

They ******** deserved it.

Candace was just walking out toward the main building when she spotted someone nearby. She gasped, instinctively summoning Atropos in a moment of uncertainty until she realized who it was. It was Molly, not some creature. She sighed with relief, unsummoning her weapon.

"Hey there, pretty lady. What're you doing here on your own?"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 7:56 pm

Molly seemed to startle as she heard a gasp, and her hand stretched out as if she was getting ready to summon her weapon until she realized who it was.

Suddenly a wide smile broke out onto her face. “Miss Candace!” She cried, elated. “I’m so glad to see you!” There was a spring in her step as she moved closer to the older Hunter, her hands clasped over her heart. “How are you feeling, are you doing alright?” She was rapid firing questions at her, and remembered that she had asked one of her own. “Oh! Me? I’m uh…just waiting around to see if anyone needs help or an extra team mate for the clearing jobs…because I think it’s dangerous to go alone…like Otto did…but I followed after him, so he wasn’t alone!”

It's okay. It's just Molly. Juuuust Molly..

...It was Molly, right? Not some trick? Candace looked somewhat wary as she looked toward the fog, narrowing her eyes at the occasional movement she could see within. This had to be the real Molly. It had to be.

Candace kind of wanted to ask if she could carry around one of those thermometers.

"I'm...o..kay? I think. I'm not hurt, I managed to get out of the mission relatively fine." Physically. Mentally? Emotionally? Not so much. More like the total opposite. "You're so sweet, Molly." Candace said with a soft chuckle, smiling and gesturing out toward the base. "You and I could go. I don't exactly excel at it but I could act as a Moon for you if you like."
PostPosted: Thu Apr 26, 2012 6:14 am

Molly nodded her head at Candace’s reply. “…I think…um…that’s the best anyone could ask for right now. I know I’m glad to see you walking around and talking, that’s for sure!” At her compliment, the trainee blushed a tad, rubbing her cheek. “Aw, shucks. Thank you…” Her eyes lit up as Candace mentioned they could go to together and something in her head seemed to nag that Molly should he the Moon Shield, because she was no where near as skilled as Candace was as a fighter.

W-what ever you think is best, Miss Candace! I’ll be your Moon if you want me too as well, or I can be Life…” She tapped her bottom lip, looking out towards the main building. That was somewhere she hadn’t been yet, and seemed like another building that would be really important to clear out. Curls bounced as Molly nodded her head. “Alright! I think this sounds like a good idea! I’m ready!”

Candace felt sheepish at Molly mentioning it was nice to see her 'walking and talking'. "..Yeah...sorry about that. I.." She scratched at her cheek, blushing from embarrassment though it was hard to tell with how her skin had tanned in the Sahara. "That was unacceptable of me. I should've handled...that better. I'm so embarrassed." She sighed, shaking her head a little. She really, really should've handle that better. At least he was okay now; she could function well enough, but it was still pathetic that witnessing what could have been his death had caused her to become so..robotic? Was that the right way to describe it? No one else's death had ever done that to her...

She didn't want to think about it anymore.

"Well, I have the fighting experience. I'm good. Plus, it's easier for you to reach around me with your lance than it is for me to get around you with my boots." Candace smiled. "I'll Moon, you'll Life. Sounds good to me. Let's go." Candace couldn't resist first reaching out to gently tug and release one of Molly's bouncing curls, watching it spring back into place and giggling before gesturing for the girl to follow.

She waited for Molly to follow her before leading her into the main building of the facility, remaining silent as she ventured in. Fog everywhere. Everywhere. She saw the occasional moving figure and she tensed, the whispers in her head flittering about like annoying little birds. God. That was so annoying. Stop. Just. Stop. ******** turned, pressing a finger to her lips and gesturing down the hall. Keep quiet, be careful. They wanted to clear the place without being overwhelmed and attracting everything at once.

“…O…oh!” Molly waved her hand a bit at Candace, eyes wide. “You don’t need to apologize to me, Miss Candace!” She hastily corrected. “I mean…when you lose someone you care about…you mourn…that’s normal, I think. It’s what makes us human…” The Misty trailed off as her voice softened and for a moment she seemed to be somewhere else. Losing someone and mourning. Molly bit her lip, her heart feeling heavy before Candace’s words snapped her out of it.

Alright…!” Logic. This was why Candace was an excellent Intermediate trainee, and she smiled for a moment as the older woman tugged at one of her curls. She trailed after Candace once motioned to, hazel eyes sweeping back and forth as they made their way into the main building. Molly nodded her head and stayed silent for the time being as she followed, though it seemed like they weren’t in there for too long before her eyes landed on the body of a fallen hunter and a weapons tablet. Molly gasped softly, immediately reaching out for Candace’s hand, not just for comfort, but to stop her as well.

Molly watched the tablet closely, waiting. She’d had this happen to her enough to know that…yeah. The trainee tensed as the tablet dissolved into another monster.

Don't apologize? Heh, alright. Candace smiled. "You're lucky. The last person who told me not to apologize to them? I promised him I'd never apologize to him again...a promise I've held true to, too." She chuckled, sighing and shaking her head. That had been a good day, a very good day. "It still wasn't reasonable. Being useless like that was..unacceptable." Sighing, she shook her head and smiled anyway. Chin up. He's fine, just sleeping off the apocalypse and a near-death experience. Maybe she'd go visit him later..at least get a hug out of the man. That's all she needed right now was a hug from him. She didn't need anything more than that.

As they walked she kept a watchful eye on the foggy figures she would see in the corner of her eye. Every now and then she would jump and nearly summon Atropos, but it was just her imagination. Just..just her imagination. When Molly held her hand she jumped again, looking down at--oh god. Another hunter body.

Candace did say she was terrible at defending. Her surprise got the better of it, barely holding back the creature from hitting Molly. Barely.

Molly blinked, looking over at Candace, and laughed softly. “Well, it’s good to keep promises!” She agreed, “But yes, I also think I’m very lucky indeed!” Molly hummed thoughtfully before reaching out to give Candace a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “But we’re here now, and he’s alright, and you’re alright, and that’s all that matters.” The young woman paused again, and seemed in thought before shaking her head. Nah, now wasn’t the time.

The Mist Trainee was cautious as they started to engage this creature, and she let out a bit of a yelp as it charged them, feeling Candace take away a bit of the blow. Immediately Molly tried swinging out with her lance, but the creature easily dodged it. “Oh dear!” She called out, “Seems this one is going to be tricky, Miss Candace!”

Goddamnit! Candace couldn't fail. Not again. Not this time. "Tricky little bugger, yeah. Watch out, okay?" Why did she pick Moon she was a terrible Moon she should've called Harison or let Molly take care of it she was so STUPID!

Candace did slightly better the next time. Only slightly.

I will!” Molly returned.

As Candace defended her once more, Molly moved around the older Hunter and thrust her lance at the creature. She felt better as she grazed it, Vaska soaking up the FEAR eagerly. Something was telling her they were going to need all the charged attacks they could get…

Why did Candace think this was a good idea? She should've just called Harrison or another Moon, let her do some fighting. Or Molly should've defended. Maybe that would've been better. Goddamnit...Candace could take more hits than Molly.

Okay now she felt like an idiot.

Candace threw herself back as the creature's arm came down, catching herself on her hands and kicking her leg up to ward it off. She did it! "Now's your chance!"

Molly was safely behind Candace once more, and watched, now in awe as Candace dodged the attack and proceeded to deflect it from hitting her at all.

Now was not the time to ogle in admiration.

Good job, Miss Candace!” Molly cheered as she stepped around the woman a bit once more, and jabbed her lance into the creature. Once again, not a big hit, but a little went a long way, right?

Candace grinned. "Thanks. Starting to think I should've called a real Moon, though. I've never been good at this. But I guess the practice is good...don't worry about hitting me, okay? If you feel like getting creative with your lance I can avoid it." She had been somewhat agile to begin with but training with Atropos had just made her quicker. She tumbled to the ground and kicked a leg out, hooking Atropos' blade around the creature's leg and pulling it out from under it. The creature crashed to the floor, dazed.

"Didn't think that'd work. It's weird how solid these things are."
