Let's get this started!!! *wink*
PostPosted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:06 pm

Vincent

"Clayton, would you bugger off, you over protective b*****d? I have to take a leak, no one is going to kidnap me in there. I'm 27 years old, for Christ sakes. You can wait outside. I'll be back in seven minutes from the time this door closes. If I'm not out, feel free to come storming in and find me." I had rolled my eyes good naturedly, and pushed into the men's room. Clayton didn't do well in crowds, and he did even worse when I was in a crowd. Too many people, too many potential threats.

Clayton is probably losing his mind right now. If I could have hung my head, I would have. As it was, I was too busy remaining stoic, not giving the men and women poking and prodding me an inch. As it turns out, they had grabbed me while I was in the bathroom. Well, "grabbed" is probably the wrong term. More like the appealed to my better judgement. Clayton would have been seriously injured fighting trying to save me - he would have never made it out of the mall. There's no doubt in my mind he would've taken out almost all of their forces, but these people wouldn't hesitate to use a weapon, and taking innocent lives wasn't a concern for them. They had outnumbered us at least ten to one, and those were steep odds, even for Clayton.

I continued to breathe through my mouth. The smells of the humans and their chemicals brought on a throbbing head ache, but I categorized each scent I recognized. Thankfully, that was almost all of them. The people who had captured me must have figured Clayton wouldn't be able to track my scent in the crowded mall. They were right, but not about the mall. Clayton would have lost my scent once they moved me into a vehicle. Clay would organize search parties, and would keep looking until he either rescued me, or died trying.

They returned my clothes, and then ran me through a battery of physical tests. I still wasn't sure who "they" were, but I had my suspicions, and I was keeping an eye out for letterhead, a badge, or some other indication to confirm. In the mean time, I played along. No reason to give them anything to get excited over. The bodyguards in the suits looked all too eager to take on a werewolf, and I had no intention of providing them that chance.

After the physical tests were finished, and I'd run two treadmills into the ground without breaking a sweat, they herded me into another room. A small antechamber - a room between to rooms - with a triple enforced steel door across the room, which seemed to be where I was headed. I went through the doors, and had to blink rapidly to adjust my eyes to the too bright artificial light. When my eyes adjusted seconds later, I wished they hadn't. Three pairs of eyes were locked on me, and not one of them was friendly.

Oh s**t.

Aurora Winfield
Argos Kain

Aurora had been having a lunch meeting with her Beta and Omega, that was the last thing she could remember. She woke up to being poked and prodded by doctors and scientists. She wasn't happy about being there, but they didn't really give her a choice. After the various physical tests and other invasive procedures were over, they injected her with some sedatives and moved her somewhere. Everything was blurry and out of focus; she couldn't recall what had happened or why or even how she got here. They released her from her bonds after transporting her somewhere that smelled like metal and plastic and glass. They tossed her on a cot of some sort and she quickly fell asleep; the sedatives they gave her were probably meant for elephants.

Aurora sat up rapidly and almost immediately wished she hadn't. Her head throbbed as though she'd been kicked by a centaur. "Jesus what the hell happened..." She thought to herself as she eased herself up again, slower this time. It took a while for her eyes to actually focus, her head was still feeling the effects of the drugs.
"Up now Rori? You've been out for a while." Aurora's ears focused immediately on the voice, her eyes looking for the source. Sitting on a cot across from her was her Beta, Argos Kain, looking a little worse for the wear, a bit beaten up, but otherwise he was fine. "Ugh, one hell of a party Argos, but my birthday isn't for another 6 months." Argos chuckles at this and replied, "Oh gee, I guess I'll have to take my present back. Well it looks like you're okay, and Ava is fine, though a little shaken up I think. Come on, let's get to the living room. We can talk about this there." Argos stood and helped Aurora to her feet, showing her the way to the living room.

The place wasn't too shabby; it was a fairly modern place, looked more like an actual house than a holding cell, aside from the windows which had bars on them, and a few cameras around the place. Argos led Aurora over to the couch and sat in the chair across the coffee table. "So what do we know about our captors?" Aurora asked, knowing Argos would probably have been concentrating too much on fighting them off to analyze what they were after, so the question was directed more at Ava. Before she could answer though, the front door opened and in walked... an unfriendly face. Aurora growled and readied herself to attack the Alpha of their rival pack. "Vincent... what are you doing here?" Argos had stood up and readied himself to fight as well; not about to let the rival Alpha close to Aurora.

Vincent clamped down on his automatic response, not letting his shock at seeing three members of his rival pack sitting in this strange room show. He did, however, shift his stance slightly, into a more ready position. Not a defensive or offensive position, just one that would allow him to move faster, a slight bending of his knees, a sharpening of his senses.

Vince ignored Aurora's warning growl. If there was anyone to be concerned with at the moment, it was Argos. He had shifted into a fighting stance. Someone unfamiliar with fighting or werewolves probably wouldn't have noticed, but Vincent rarely missed anything. It was this attention to detail that was part of what made him an excellent Alpha. He also noted Aurora's readiness for attack. Ava was tense, and would fight if he attacked Aurora directly, but she wasn't in a fighting position now.

Even still, he was out numbered, in unfamiliar territory, with no chance of backup. Fighting wouldn't be an option, although he did allow a growl past his lips, reminding the others that he wasn't going to lie down. Vince took a deep breath through his nose - metal, glass, the three werewolves, food in the fridge, and not much else. Whoever brought him - them - here had been careful not to leave any sort of scent behind that could clue the werewolves in to who was holding them.

Aurora's question suggested this wasn't some elaborate ruse the A's had cooked up to try and kill him and take over his pack. They were just as uncomfortable here in this atmosphere as he was, and from what he knew about Aurora, her sense of honour wouldn't allow for a kidnapping. She would want to fight on equal terms, and these certainly weren't equal. For now, he'd have to do the best he could to find out more information about what was going on here.

"I was about to ask you the same question, Aurora." Vincent didn't look at Argos, instead leveled a steady gaze at Aurora, not breaking eye contact. In a wolf pack, a member had to earn the right to make eye contact with the Alpha. Vince was forcing Aurora to treat him as an Alpha as well. Her Alpha status would require she didn't break eye contact in order to teach him a lesson as she would with another pack member, because it would mean she was acknowledging Vincent as her Alpha. He held her gaze, and waited to see how she would respond.

Aurora noticed the scent of fear on Vincent even through her muddled senses; he was in front of the Alpha, Beta and Omega of his rival pack, and he would have to be an idiot not to be. She locked gazes with him and could tell he wasn't a part of this any more than they were. She continued staring him down and said, "Same as you I think. We got jumped and thrown in here. My best guess is that they want to experiment on us somehow. Though there are better ways of doing it than tossing us in a fully stocked condo..." Aurora continued staring Vincent down, barely even blinking. "Argos, calm down, he's not about to get in a fight with the three of us. He may be our enemy but I don't think he's suicidal." Argos glanced back at Aurora as if to question her, and she merely glared back at him. Relaxing his stance he sat back down, propping his feet up on the coffee table.

Aurora looked back to Vincent and said, "I don't think they know anything about us; if they did, they wouldn't have thrown you in here with us. That's tantamount to tossing a fresh steak into a crowd of hungry wolves. Since they don't know much about us, one can assume that's why we're here; so they can get information." Aurora put one of her legs over the other and gauged Vincent carefully, her gaze not wavering an inch. Chuckling lightly she simply said, "Alright, I have an idea. These guys know so little about us, but had the gall to kidnap us and treat us like animals? We can show them what a bad idea that was. We work together to get out of here, and once we're out, we can make them pay, big time. So..." Standing up, Aurora walked up to Vincent, her eyes locked on his. She extended a hand towards him and asked, "Truce? At least for now." Argos started to protest but Aurora simply said, "Don't wanna hear it Argos. Two Alphas, a Beta and an Omega is better than only one Alpha, Beta and Omega." Argos was quickly silenced, lest he feel Aurora's wrath. He could take it up with her later if he absolutely had to, but for now, he shut up.

Vincent weighed his options. He knew Aurora wasn't lying - she and her pack members had been abducted in much the same fashion he was. He also believed she knew as little as he did about their abductors. She had a point too, about the two Alpha's being better than one. Provided Argos doesn't murder me in my sleep. Vincent thought. I doubt he'd kill me out of spite if Aurora wishes us to work together, but I'll have to tread carefully. Argos will be looking for reasons to take me out. Better not give him any.

Carefully, and with a deliberate, slow movement, Vincent shook Aurora's hand. "Truce."

Ava watched the exchange between Aurora and Vincent, looking for any sign Vincent was lying. So far, he seemed to be sticking to the truth. Ava didn't know Vincent personally - as a member of the rival pack, no one did - but she resolved to watch him carefully, and do what she could to separate truth from the rumors.

With the truce declared, there was a moment or two of uncomfortable silence, then Ava decided it was time to answer Aurora's question. "The people I've been exposed to have all been human. I seriously doubt they're the ones responsible for abducting us. They don't even know we exist, nor should they, which leads me to believe someone from the supernatural community is hiding behind them to learn more about us, bank rolling the project." Ava tucked her long blonde hair behind her ear, and continued speaking to her Alpha.

"However, we're too valuable to be left completely in the hands of humans, so I know there are some other super naturals involved, higher ups in the chain of command. I'm sure there's some demon muscle here too 'in case we get out of hand.'" Ava's obvious sarcasm showed how she felt about that. She took a deep breath and lifted her chin, Ava's pale blue eyes meeting her Alpha's. "I think we're dealing with a Cabal."

Vincent was inclined to agree. Cabal's were like the Supernatural world's mafia, except they were a thousand times more dangerous. There were four main "families" and each had more money than God. They all had their own agendas, which comprised of usurping the others, gaining control of their secrets, and ruling the rest of the supernaturals. Werewolves stayed out of the political game, having been deemed "uncivilized, unpredictable beasts" and therefore unfit for such games of intrigue, much to the werewolves delight. Vampires were lumped into the same category. Most of the supernaturals didn't trust beings that wanted to eat them. Can't blame their survival instincts for that.

Not being a part of the "game" though, meant not a lot was known about either species, and if one Cabal could convince a werewolf to join them, it would be an almost unparalleled asset for that family. But the question remained - "Which Cabal would have the balls to pull off something like this? This kind of operation would be very difficult to keep under wraps...the others are probably hoping this blows up, and we wipe out the entire Cabal, so they don't have to do it themselves."

Vincent thought that would be exactly what Clay had in mind when he found out who had taken Jeremy. With a conscious effort, Vincent kept his face neutral. He knew his abduction would be tearing Clayton apart. Clayton was Vincent's beta, and would see Vincent's kidnapping as his own personal failure to the pack. Clay would be hell-bent on finding Vincent, and when he did, Vince had no doubt Clay would try to offer up his life in sacrifice. Vincent would have none of it, of course, but those were concerns for another time. With an effort, Vince brought himself back to the conversation at hand, waiting to see how Aurora would respond to Ava's thoughts on the issue.

((Sorry I missed you last night, I was in class from 6 to 7:45))

Aurora turned and sat back down on the couch; she could tell Vincent was distracted, so she took the opportunity to go sit back down before her head decided to throb any harder. Her face neutral, she listened to Ava's explanation, it all made sense, but Aurora was doubtful of their motives. Once Vincent had given his theory, Aurora spoke, "Only a Cabal would be dumb enough to do this to us. I know the ones who took me had to drug me on top of shackling me down, which means they were human; supernaturals wouldn't need to do that. As far as the muscle goes, we'll have to be careful, I don't think they'd be too opposed to killing us if we get too rowdy." Crossing her legs and propping them up on the coffee table, Aurora smiled and said, "I say we play along for now, let them think we're being compliant and get ourselves into a striking position. For now though... they're taking a decidedly hands-off approach to this, that may change soon though. For now I say we try and take things easy; take stock of this place we're in." She looked to Argos who nodded in silent agreement and then she looked to Vincent before asking, "What about you Vincent? You alright with that plan of action or do you have a better idea?" Aurora's challenging tone was just her way of letting Vincent in on the conversation, if they were going to work together, she would have to at least hear his opinion.

((It's okay, I forgot you might still have classes. I'm sorry if I interrupted anything!! I'll be around most of the night tonight, so if I'm not on MSN just text me and I'll check in))

Aurora sat, and Vince was inclined to do the same, but the only seating arrangements available would bring him close to Aurora, and Vince wasn't sure Argos would allow him to get any closer to her just yet, so he resigned himself to standing.

Vince took his time to think for a few moments. "The hands off approach troubles me. I find it hard to believe they're only studying our physical abilities. Perhaps that's just a starting point for them."

Ava's skin bristled. Despite the order from her Alpha, it still rackled to find she agreed with Vincent. "They know we're dangerous, which makes me think the humans won't be too inclined to come in here with us. How do they re-stock our supplies? How will they inform us when they want us for more testing? Ava perched on the arm of the couch, beside Argos, who was still standing. "I think there has to be some sort of microphone or intercom around here somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if there are cameras too. I think we should take some time to find out how thoroughly they're watching us."

Ava looked from Aurora to Argos, her discomfort plain on her face. They were in a glorified cage, and the whole bunch of 'unknowns' in their situation were making Ava anxious. She hoped Argos would offer to look through the house with her - she always felt more comfortable, safer, when he was around - but she doubted that he would leave Aurora alone with Vincent.

Aurora nodded at both Vincent and Ava's ideas, they would probably be watching and/or listening to them somehow. They should figure out if there were any blind spots in their security systems before they actually went further with their plans. "You're right Ava, if they know what we're doing, they'd probably be able to prepare for it. We'll split up to search the house. Argos, you got with Ava, I'll go with Vincent." Argos was about to protest about leaving Aurora with Vincent, but the glare he received from her silenced that before it ever began. Aurora sighed lightly, it wasn't that Argos was a disobedient Beta, he'd listen to anything Aurora said, he just had trouble keeping his opinions to himself. He wasn't afraid to share his disagreement with Aurora, but oftentimes that just got him into trouble, so she saved him the exasperation and just said no when it came to decisions like this. "Vincent and I will take the first floor, Ava, you and Argos take the second floor." Aurora stood and ran a hand through her hair, moving some of the white strands out of her face before walking over to Vincent. "We can start with the bedrooms Vincent, there's bound to be some cameras there." She turned and headed into the bedroom she had woken up in, not bothering to check if Vincent was following her.

Argos didn't like leaving Aurora alone with Vincent, but she wasn't about to let him protest it. He sighed lightly and smiled at Ava before saying, "Well let's check out the second floor shall we?" He headed out of the living room and to the small staircase that led up to the second floor. Argos and Ava had looked around the house for a bit before, but they hadn't actually gone up the stairs yet. Carefully making his way up, not sure if there was anything or anyone hiding up there, Argos rounded corners carefully; making sure Ava was always behind him so she wasn't in danger. It was his job as Beta to protect members of the pack; which meant Ava was under his care since Aurora left him with her. After making sure nothing was hiding at the top of the stairs, Argos relaxed a little and said, "Well, we're looking for cameras and microphones right? You know more about this stuff than me Ava, so tell me where we should look first." He smiled at her, he could tell she was a little anxious, but he would do his best to protect her.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2012 8:14 am

Vince raised an eyebrow. He'd expected more of a fight from Argos at Aurora's decision to partner with Vince. It was a sign of trust between the two of them that Argos didn't argue.

Maybe he's just confident Aurora can handle herself. He thought as the other two A's made their way up the stairs. Or maybe he knows I wouldn't be stupid enough to pick a fight against all three of them. Vince nodded, and motioned for Aurora to lead the way. He needed have bothered, though, as she was already half way across the room.

Presenting her back to the enemy. I guess she does think she could handle herself. Without bidding, Vince had the sudden mental picture of the two of them locked in an embrace, his blood roaring in his ears as they vied to take charge.

Whoa, where did THAT come from? Vince gave his head a shake. Those were definitely not the kind of thoughts he wanted to be having about the Alpha of his rival pack, and certainly not in these conditions. Actually, he'd never really thought like that about anyone before, and the idea gave him chills.

Of course she wants to check the bedrooms first. Vincent gave himself a mental eye roll. Keep your s**t together Vince. He thought and followed her into the room. "I'll check the ceiling and the walls, you look in the ground vents, the closets...anywhere you think they might have hidden them." With that, Vince turned his back on her and stood on the bed, checking the corners, picture frames, and window sills for anything suspicious.

Argos lead the way up the stairs, and Ava noticed he was careful to keep her behind him, protecting her from anything that might be waiting above. That natural protectors instinct marked him as a perfect choice for Beta. Despite Argos' size, Ava found she was tense too, and ready to dart past him should there be any sort of threat upstairs. Aurora and the pack needed Argos to keep them safe, and she'd be damned if she let anything happen to him.

When they reached the landing, Argos backed off, and allowed her to take the lead. Ava smiled at him, and then tucked her long blonde hair behind her ear again as she turned to survey the hallway. Getting down to business, Ava said "My best guess is we'll fin more bedrooms, maybe some sort of study or something, and a bathroom. We should probably just start opening doors, and check the hallway as we go."

Ava's eyes were already sweeping the upstairs landing, looking for any kind of reflection off a lense, or something to indicate there may be a microphone. "We're going to want to look for open spaces, but ones that would be easily over looked. Places that would offer a good, unobstructed view of the room or places that would allow a microphone to pick up sound. I think it's more than likely every inch of this house is bugged, we just have to find out where, and how well." Ava turned and smiled at Argos, then lead the way to the first door.

Even though she was a werewolf, Ava always seemed to inspire others to think she needed protection. Perhaps it was her slight build, or her tendency to be soft spoken, but not many others seemed to think she could handle herself. Only Argos and Aurora believed she could hold her own in a physical confrontation, and even they would still worry about protecting her in a fight. This sort of thing, however, was where she excelled. While the others were more instinct or emotionally based, Ava was a logical thinker. A logical thinker who, on more than one occasion, had saved the pack with her rationale. Some pack members thought of Ava as a burden, because she wasn't the strongest or the fastest, but she was the most cunning, save for Aurora, and Aurora trusted her, which was all that mattered to Ava.

They came to the first door, which Ava noticed locked from the inside. She tried the handle and found it unlocked - another bedroom. "I wonder how many of us they were planning on taking." Ava mused aloud as she stepped into the room. Her light blue eyes were already moving around, glancing at objects and categorizing likely hiding places. "Would you like to search each room together, or should we split up and holler if we find anything? Ava asked.

Aurora may have had her back turned to him, but all her remaining senses were on Vincent, if he so much as twitched the wrong way in her direction she would rip him to shreds. Aurora may not have been as large as Argos or some of the other stronger wolves in her pack, but she, like Ava was logical in her thinking. She was larger than Ava, and many of her pack mates, at 6'2" tall in human form and a little over 8 feet tall in her werewolf form, meaning she was one of the heavier hitters. Vincent was a few inches taller than her, and well built, but she could easily match him; she wasn't Alpha for nothing. As she looked around the room she didn't have time to survey when she woke up, she noticed a tenseness behind her coming from Vincent, she in turn tensed as well. She wasn't sure what was wrong, but she still didn't trust him completely; he was still her rival after all.

Not seeing anything visible immediately, she thought about where to search next when Vincent told her where to search, to which she replied, "Good idea, splitting up the room will mean we'll get done quicker. Though don't think you can order me around Vincent." She checked the opposite side of the room from Vincent; still making sure to keep an eye or ear on him at all times. She didn't like the vibe she had gotten earlier, and wasn't about to put herself in a tight enclosed space where he could take advantage of the situation. Her mind raced at the thought of him attacking her in such tight quarters and she glanced behind her to make sure he was still across the room.

Sighing Aurora checked the vents on the ground and the ones in the nearly empty closet. She didn't expect to find anything, the spots were very poor for bugs and cameras, not having very good sight of the room and the audio would be horrid from in the vents. Looking through the closet she noticed a few sets of similar clothing, black jumpsuit-like outfits, no doubt theirs to be worn. Aurora looked at the outfits and said, mostly to herself, "They expect us to wear these things? Feh, wouldn't be caught dead in something like this... though if they don't give us a washer and a dryer..." She hung up the jumpsuit again and looked around, there wasn't much else she could search through, there was a small nightstand or two with a lamp on top, no drawers or compartments of any kind, extremely minimalist. She moved to check the tables and lamps for anything suspicious and paused, keeping an eye on Vincent for a moment before continuing with what she was doing.

Argos followed Ava closely as she looked around the floor, ready to pounce on any danger that appeared. She let Ava handle the specifics of their searching, because while Argos wasn't a dumb brute, Ava's intellect had saved him more than twice, and he respected that. She knew what she was doing, and she was more suited to this situation than he was. When she commented on wondering how many of them they were going to take, Argos responded with, "I think they may find and take more, especially if we don't get back to the pack soon, they lack leadership without us and are most likely going to be making themselves known." When she asked him what they should do, he nodded and answered, "We stick together and go room by room, we're less likely to miss anything that way." He followed her into the room and looked around, for any possible threats rather than cameras and hiding places at first. "Should be easy enough, there's not many places they could be hiding these things..."

With that Argos moved to the nearest bed and stood on it, with his height, it would be easier to see the corners and high ceilings, Ava could search the closets and vents and paintings around the room. He kept and eye on Ava, making sure she was alright; he was protective of her, as he was with any member of the pack, but Ava more so, mostly because to him she seemed... fragile. It wasn't the fact that she was a woman or her fairly small stature, it was more the fact that she oftentimes relied a little too much on her wit. She thought when she ought to have fought. Argos didn't begrudge her, as he was guilty of the opposite, he simply wanted to keep her safe. "I hope Rori knows what she's doing, trusting Vincent seems like a bad idea to me. The guy is trouble, plain and simple. Do you get how she's so quick to trust him Ava?" Argos asked, stating his opinion out of earshot of Aurora.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2012 11:11 am

Vincent jumped down off the bed, landing with a barely audible thud, and walked over to the closet. Aurora was tall, only two inches shorter than Vince's 6'4, but it still gave him some small amount of pleasure to know he could grin down at her, so he did.

"Huh, would you look at that. Black's my color. Happens to look great on me." Vincent shot her another cocky grin, and then put his hands in the back pocket of his jeans. "Looks like we're clear in here. No microphones, though there is a small camera in the top corner above the bed, clear view of the whole room, except inside the closet. If you didn't find anything in there, I'm going to assume the closet is the only blind spot in here."

Vincent stretched past Aurora to close the closet door, making note of just how much space the closet offered. It wasn't much, but two people could fit cramped inside if need be. Argos would have to duck. The closet door opened to block the view of the camera though - a handy coincidence he made note of for later. "I think most of the bedrooms will be set up the same way, but we should search them, just in case."

After a quick search of the room, Ava called Argos over to the closet, and opened the door, hiding the two of them from the camera while making it seem like an accident. "The only camera in this room is in the corner above the bed. No microphones, but I think if there are any, they'll be in the common areas, like the kitchen and the rec room. I don't think they're so much interested in what we're saying, as what we're doing. We'll have to be careful." Ava shut the closet door and shrugged, keeping her face neutral for the camera, then nodded to the hallway and followed Argos out.

Back in the hallway, Ava opened two more doors to bedrooms almost identical to the one she and Argos had just left. The next door opened into a deceptively large bathroom, equipped with both a shower and a bathtub, as well as two sinks. "I think Aurora knows what she's doing. She trusts Vincent didn't get to be Alpha by accident. She knows he has to be smarter than trying to attack her now. Bottom line is he's out numbered, and he'd have to be very stupid to try something with these odds."

Ava opened the door to the shower and stepped in. The shower seemed like a bad place to put a camera, but she didn't think the humans holding them were all that smart - she would have at least bugged every room - but she didn't want to assume anything to put them in danger, so she checked it out.

A few minutes later the entire top floor had been cleared, and Ava motioned to Argos that they should go back downstairs. The werewolves gathered in the rec room, Ava taking a seat on the arm of the couch. "One camera per room, although they spared us our privacy in the bathroom." Ava's cheeks colored just slightly, glad for that little reprieve.

Vince spoke up from his position near the door he'd come through. "Same with this level. The closets are a blind spot for the cameras. There's a small blind spot in the kitchen as well, with the cupboard and the refrigerator door. No microphones, but I think if there were any, they'd be in this room. Actually, I'm fairly certain there is one here, but I think it's only on when they want to talk with us, and would be interested in what we have to say."

Aurora sat on the couch while Argos stayed standing up, his arms crossed and his eyes on Vincent, but his attention on Aurora. Aurora nodded and said, "I don't think they're interested in what we have to say. It's more like they want to observe us. Kinda like rats in a maze; they're looking at behavior." Aurora was about to continue when there was a loud click and a voice came from seemingly nowhere, saying, "If the four of you are done sweeping your living arrangements, we can begin. First of all there are a few rules we need to go over-" The voice was cut off by Aurora, "Just you wait, rules? You kidnap us, toss us in this barely furnished condo and then say we need to abide by your rules? How about you start by explaining, then we'll see about your rules." The voice remained silent for a few moments then answered back, "Very well. If you want an explanation, we can go over that first. You four are part of an experiment. In order to better understand your race, we need to perform tests on various subjects. You four are extremely good specimens of your race, therefore you were chosen to be our test subjects." The voice on the speaker went over various reasons for the tests, but Aurora knew they were all pretty much false; even if the people testing them didn't know that, someone was pulling strings.

"As far as the rules go, before I was so rudely interrupted... Rule number one: do not disobey us. While you are all exceedingly good specimens, we will not hesitate to use force if necessary. If you all comply, you will not be hurt. Rule number two: Do not break, destroy, or disable any of our monitoring devices or equipment, or else we will be forced to detain you all." The voice on the intercom went through a few more rules, all of which were pretty standard for this type of situation. Aurora didn't really like it, but she wasn't about to argue with a voice that wasn't even in the room with her. Sighing, she shook her head and said, "Get to the point, what are you going to do now?" The voice went silent again after her interruption. A moment passed before they spoke again, "We are going to be taking two of you for some testing, the other two will be taken out to the physical activity area for the duration of the tests, then the four of you will be placed back into your living quarters. I advise you not to struggle, as the guards have been instructed to use as much force as necessary and have been armed with silver stun batons, and won't hesitate to use them. Take the blonde and the big one, leave the white haired rude one and the other man."

The front door opened and about ten guards walked in, all wearing some advanced sort of protective gear and carrying electrified silver batons. They approached the four and Argos stood in front of them, barring their way. One man went to grab him and Argos broke his arm like a twig, elbowing another guard in the face and kicking out another's kneecap before he got zapped by four batons at once. He let out a growl and grabbed a man by the throat, lifting him and pinning him against the wall before the batons did their job and brought him down. A few more guards rushed in to help move Argos and carry out the wounded while the rest moved on the other three. Aurora stood firm and said to them, "Alright, Ava, you go with them, Vincent, I guess you and I will see this 'physical activity area'." Aurora knew that Argos wouldn't have gone quietly even if she had ordered him to; he was just too stubborn for that. But she knew he could take it. She just didn't want to see anyone from her pack seriously injured because they resisted.

Aurora and Vincent were "escorted" to the "physical activity area" which was pretty much a large indoor field, the size of a few football fields. It had obstacle courses, running tracks, even a sparring arena. "Well... Didn't expect that. So... what do we do? Just run around or something?" Aurora hated to admit it, but she was impressed, this sort of place would be a haven for a werewolf; it had space, utilities and pretty much everything they could want. One of the guards behind them said, in response to her question,
"You're allowed to do whatever type of physical activity you like, just don't break anything." Aurora whistled quietly and said to herself, "Where to begin..."

Ava watched as the ten guards entered the rec room in a military fashion. They were trained well, but no human is trained well enough to stand up to Argos without technological help. Still, Ava had to fight back a flinch as Argos was electrocuted, and then electrocuted again before they finally brought him down.

Ava took a breath, and nodded to Aurora. She didn't need to say anything, Aurora knew she could count on Ava to bring back a report as detailed as she could manage. With straight shoulders, Ava walked towards the armed guards, satisfied when they shifted uneasily. One soldier reached out and grabbed her by the arm. Ava couldn't resist a small warning growl. The soldiers around her tensed, and one even began to raise his weapon, but Ava had already started walking, forcing her escorts to get moving or risk being left behind.

"Oh no you don't....miss." One of the guards amended at Ava's frosty look. "We can't have you seeing where you're going." And with that, a bag was thrown over her head, leaving her blinded and without her sense of smell. Ava had to choke back a cry of protest. Breathe Ava, just breathe.... She thought to herself, and worked to gain control over her sudden panic. Focus, just...focus on where they're taking you."

Right.....right....left....right....right....right...left and left again and...

Blinding white light as the cover was removed from her head. Disoriented, Ava was lead to a medical type bed, and strapped down. She tested the bonds carefully, and found them strong.
"Careful now, don't fight us on this. The bonds aren't tight enough to hurt you, but they will if you struggle." A woman off to her left said. Ava scanned the room, looking for any type of indication as to who these people were. As she looked around, she noticed one of the people in lab coats readying a syringe.

Ava couldn't help it, she whimpered and started to struggle against her bonds.
"Doctor, you're going to have to get over here quickly, she's fighting."

"No matter, it's ready." The doctor came over to the bedside, and Ava started struggling in earnest. "Don't worry," The doctor soothed as he pushed the plunger. "You'll thank us for this. You'll feel better than you've ever felt. I'm sure a pretty little thing like you, you'll do just fine."

"Yeah, if the big one doesn't tear her in half..." Ava's world went black to the sound of the humans in the room laughing.

Vincent allowed himself to be lead to the Physical Activity Area, and was surprised to admit he was impressed at the facility. "I guess so, yeah." Vincent said, a grin splitting his face in two as he headed towards the obstacle course. "I bet I kick your a**." He called over his shoulder as he broke out into a jog, smiling the whole way.

Argos slipped in and out of consciousness as they carried him down the hall, they had strapped him down to a gurney and wheeled him to the same room as Ava. Once they took off the bag they put over his head he looked around and saw Ava strapped down as well. He noticed her struggling and saw the doctor try to inject her with something and laughing about it. He couldn't break his bonds, they were made of something infused with silver. It didn't deter him, and he fought harder to break free, but still couldn't get out of the restraints. It was when the doctor came over to him brandishing a syringe. "I swear to God if you stick that in me I'll beat you to a bloody pulp with your own arm." The doctor just laughed and replied, "You'll be too busy with your blonde friend big guy. Go easy on her, she looks fragile." Argos struggled even further, flexing his arm muscle as the doctor tried to inject him, breaking the needle in his arm. The doctor swore to himself and asked the nurse for anesthesia. Argos simply laughed at the doctor and said, "What's the matter doc? Mad that I broke your needle?" The doctor didn't reply, and things soon went dim as they applied enough sedatives to down a T-Rex into his system before injecting him with whatever it was they had in the syringes.

Aurora chuckled to herself as Vincent ran past her towards the obstacle course. "Bet you don't" The facility was nice, and it had been a while since she had been able to really go all out. She stretched a bit and set off at a run, full tilt, breezing past Vincent's jog moving faster than most cars would on a freeway. She had been itching to go for a run, but the public tracks were always taken by other people; here she didn't need to worry about revealing herself to humans, she could go as far as she wanted. Despite their situation, she used this time to try and enjoy herself, running over the obstacle course, sprinting along the track. Aurora didn't really care about what Vincent was doing, concentrating on what her body wanted her to do; push her limits. Eventually she slowed down to catch her breath, coming to a stop on the running track. After a few moments she was ready to go again but her readiness was quickly dashed when a familiar voice came over the speakers somewhere in the room, "All test subjects are to report back to their living quarters. Repeat, all test subjects are to report back to their living quarters." Aurora swore to herself and after a brief stretch walked her way back to the entrance she had come from; a few guards were waiting there for her and Vincent, but she simply gave them angry glares and headed past them back inside.

Returning to their quarters with no less than seven guards behind her the whole way, Aurora sat on the couch and relaxed, her body covered in a thin layer of sweat. It had been some time since she had gone all out like that, and she was certainly tired. Sighing, she stood up again and went to the kitchen to grab a drink; the fridge was full of bottled water and food, but she was thirsty, not hungry. Grabbing the water she downed the bottle in one go, grabbing another and heading back to the couch. Sitting down, she unbuttoned the front of her shirt a little more; her clothing wasn't ideal for exercise, a pair of black pants, more designed for fashion rather than comfort, a small button down grey shirt, designed to show off the body of the one wearing it. Sipping the water lightly, she propped her feet up on the coffee table again, wondering where Argos and Ava were, if all subjects had to be back in their quarters. She was slightly worried, but she didn't think they could get rid of Argos that easily; he wasn't one to go down, even if half the bones in his body were broken.
