Mot dropped off Lizzy, and after going inside to feed his minipets, he simply waited outside his door. He sat in that hallway for what felt like ages. He braided and unbraided his hair just to kill time. Took off his hat and memorized each stitch, imaging Hel as she might have looked while making it for him. He patted the harmonica inside his pouch, wondering when he might be able to play for Hel the songs he had learned.
Tick tick tick went a small pocket watch inside his vest. The noise was driving him mad. The strange flames Jericho had thrown at him were still playing with his emotions. What if Hel didn't come back? What if she contracted the Insanity? What if he would remain a useless shell of a man for all eternity?
He sighed deeply, staring down the hall in hopes his split tone ghoul would show her pretty face again.

Hel stared up the first flight of stairs; her posture slumped tiredly as she looked less than impressed. She should have flown up to her room more, she idly noted. Now…now she had to really use the stairs like a non-winged reaper should. She sighed, shaking her head a bit and started the slow trudge up them, the steel plates of her boots tacking noisily against the stone as Hel dragged her feet. She was tired. She felt drained…or maybe she was feeling repressed. In disbelief still, shock, maybe. As she rounded the first landing, hushed whispers seemed to echo through the stair case, but at this point, she just didn’t care.
She paused and sighed. Two more to go.
What marked that there was someone coming onto the third floor of the reaper dorms was the scraping of metal against stone. Loud, slow footsteps, as Hel was still tiredly dragging her feet. The ghoul was still slumped, her head cast downwards as she just stared at the floor as she walked, hands idly holding onto her bag. She looked frayed, battle worn, a bit singed in some places from that one attack from a hunter with a bazooka, but at least she wasn’t missing anymore limbs. The ghoul was caught up in her thoughts, replaying moments from the last few days. She didn’t know she had a ‘waiter’.

Mot's heart skipped a beat or two as he heard scraping metal. His eyes focused on the dark hallway, waiting for the source to show itself. Soon, he could see her, the small yet beat up form of his ghoul. She was worse for wear, but that didn't matter. She was alive, walking, in one piece.
Mot shot up from his spot on the ground, and ran full tilt toward the ghoul.
"HEL! HEL!!!!!" He yelled, the only warning she got other than madly clinking spurs before she was lifted into a tight hug. Her feet surely dangled above the floor, his head nuzzling the crook of her neck.
"You're okay! You're okay, right? I'm so glad you're back.." He sounded choked up, as if he'd been deprived of her for much too long. "You're back... Don't ever leave me again."

It was like a knife through the fog. Everything had been so…blurred and fuzzy and ran together, but his voice, the sharp clinking of spurs, everything suddenly seemed to come into focus. Like the voice she had heard which called her back from the Cross Roads, only much stronger now. Hel’s head snapped up, and she only caught a glimpse of him before she was pulled up and tightly into his arms. The reaper froze, hesitating for a moment as she dangled there wide eyed.
Mot.
He was….happy to see her? Even after all that…
She felt a lump in her throat as her arms came up now to wrap around his neck tightly. Her back ached in protest. His arms were squeezing the wounds too hard, but she didn’t care. “I am fine.” She whispered back hoarsely, burying her face against the side of his neck as well, taking in his scent deeply. This was home. “I missed you.”

"I missed you too! I missed you so much. I shouldn't have been so cowardly. I should have just gone with you! I'm so sorry! I'm so so sorry, Hel.." He uttered shakily, holding her tightly despite knowing she must be hurt. He was afraid if he let her go she would disappear again. Hel was here. He could see her, touch her, breathe her scent. It made him so happy that tears burned at his already swollen eyes. He'd done a lot of crying that day.
That vision of a stone statue of Riley flashed in his mind again.
"I'm so sorry..."

“…No…It…it is alright, Mot.” Part of her was glad he wasn’t there. Not because she wanted to be alone…but because of just…everything that had happened there. “Do not apologize, Mot.” She murmured. “It is alright…it…” It wasn’t alright…no it really wasn’t. “…Do not apologize…If…if anyone should be apologizing…it…”
Her fingers dug into the material of his shirt. “…It…it needs to be me. So…so shhhh…”

Mot's breathing seemed shaky. He almost couldn't believe he'd see her again. How was it he could be allowed such a privilege? That ray of hope he'd been praying for was now in his arms. He could go on trying now that Hel was here. Hel was his strength, his reason for living. He knew that now that she was here in the flesh. He just couldn't go on without her.
Perhaps that how Jericho had felt without Riley.. that sense of loss..
He slowly set her down on her own feet after a while, cupping her cheeks and pressing a needy kiss to her lips.

Anymore words she wanted to say for now died down as she just simply hung onto him. The ghoul almost didn’t want to be put down as she felt her booted feet touch the floor and his arms loosen around her. She was ready to be selfish and protest that she wanted to stay like that longer. Until he cupped her face and then pressed his lips against hers. Nothing was timid, shy just…there, full on.
Her heart fluttered painfully, and she only hesitated for a moment before her hands slid up to cup his face as well and she returned it.

He held that kiss for what felt like forever, only parting because he wanted to look at her. He rubbed her cheek with his thumb, smiling, relieved. His Hel was here. His Hel. He'd never take her for granted again.
He pressed another few kisses to her lips before hugging her all over again. He could handle the torment and pain he'd gone through. It was okay now.
"I have so much to tell you." He murmured as he buried his face in her hair. "But you should shower first. You smell terrible." He joked cheekily.

When they did part, Hel just stared at him. In awe. In disbelief. In amazement. The look in his eyes, the concern, his voice…all for her. Her heart was beating painfully again as she leaned her head into his hand, and her thumbs rubbed over his cheeks as well, testing. She held onto their next few kisses, her hands moving from his face to grasp onto the sleeves bunched at his elbows tightly. Hel choked a bit as she laughed as well, though it died down quickly, replaced instead by worry.
“A-alright…and…” Her voice dropped down to a soft, pleading whisper. “…And will you still be there when I am done…I...I need help…with new bandages and…and I want you there…”

Mot had to chuckle as well, smiling ear to ear. Pain melted away with Hel here.
"I will. I'll help you any way I can." Mot said with certainty. If he could help, even a little bit, he would. "Come on. Let's get you fixed up." He pulled away from her a soft noise muffled in his pouch pocket. Heimdall popped his little head from inside out, yapping at Hel exciedtly. "You can say Hi later." he scolded the fluff, tugging Hel toward her room.

Relief. That’s what she felt. She held onto his hand tightly as he tugged her towards her room, and she looked down as her poof poked his head out and looked up at her. She hoarsely cooed at him, reaching to gently rub his head with a finger before pushing him back into Mot’s pouch pocket for safe keeping. Upon being led to her door, Hel fished her key out of her tunic pocket, fumbling with it before she unlocked her door and led the cowboil in.
The ghoul dropped her bag first, and then kicked and stumbled her way out of her boots, her stockings, and she started to drag her feet over to the bathroom, just to get it over with now. Hel didn’t bother closing the door, and just climbed into the shower stall, a haphazard trail of clothes marking her way towards it.

Mot watched as she stumbled about, but turned his attention away once she began stripping her way into the bathroom. Out of curtesy of course. And perhaps he was still shy about naked bodies.
As she washed up, Mot started to look around for bandages, as well as heating up a kettle of water for tea. Jericho's attack was fading ever slightly, now that he had Hel to fuss over. He was needed. He was. He wasn't useless. Not now.
The grim reaper continued puttering about for things, kicking off his boots by the door as well. He had no intention of leaving his Hel any time soon.
It would also be noted he neatly gathered Hel's discarded clothes and tossed them into a hamper.

Hel didn’t bother spending too much time in the shower. It made her anxious to have Mot out of sight, even if she could hear him shuffling around. The ghoul quickly washed her hair and stood under the hot stream of water, letting it roll down her back as well before she got out of it. Some things hadn’t changed about Hel, despite everything that had happened, and walking out of the bathroom in only a towel loosely draped over her torso was no exception.
The ghoul looked puzzled though as she glanced around the floor. Weren’t there clothes here? She knew she took them off…oh well. The valkyrie wandered over to where Mot was, wet fingers reaching out to grasp onto his sleeve momentarily to let him know she was there, and then she wandered over to a stool and sat down, waiting. Hel pulled her hair all around to the front and let her towel drop to expose her back, and waited.

Mot had prepared tea and all the first aid supplies he could find by the time Hel made herself known. He turned his head down as she tugged his sleeve. He wasn't surprised to see her walk around half naked, but t didn't mean it didn't startle him. He watched as she made her way to sit down, blushing a furious red as she let her towel slip enough to expose her back.
However, he let the extent of her old and new injuries settle down his pounding heart. Mot took his tray of supplies and got himself a seat to sit behind Hel with.
She was letting him take care of her, and he couldn't be more grateful.
Mot started to disinfect her wounds, just to be safe, before attempting to get out the roll of bandages. "It's looking better." He mentioned softly, gingerly attending her. He applied gauze pads over the wingless back of the Valkyrie and then hesitated as he took up a roll of bandages.
He'd... have to wrap this around her, right? But... that meant touching some assets.
With a furious blush across his pale cheeks burning his already hurt skin (from all the sobbing earlier that day), Mot started to wrap the gauze in place.
