It was the first time in a long time that Xiu hadn't slept well. On her first night back, she had fell into an entirely dreamless sleep, but last night was different. When she thought back to the previous night, the baku realized that her firm grasp on lucid dreaming had wavered. While most of her sleep had also been devoid of dreams, the images that occasionally peeked into her mind had been both brief and unwelcome. The phoenix, the destroyed islands, Riley's stone body...
It was the closest thing that she had had to a nightmare in years. After a few hours of having the scenes flicker in and out of her mind, Xiu had given up on sleep, hoping that the caffeine in her tea would be enough to keep her awake for the rest of the day.
She had plans for today, considering that she hadn't managed to get around to them yesterday due to her exhaustion. The first and most important thing on her list was visiting Shun. Not only did she want to apologize for hitting him--what had come over her?--but she also wanted to know a little more on what happened to Riley. He had been there when Riley changed to stone, and she was desperate to know if there were any clues about how to save her...or at least, prevent such a thing from happening ever again.
It didn't take long until the baku arrived at the reaper dorm. Standing in front of the familiar door, she took a deep breath and lifted a fist to knock. "Aniki? It's me."

Two days after they had returned and the voices hadn't left him. It was making him weary quite frankly. They weren't always there, but they certainly made things a bit difficult. He had tried to meditate, but that proved to be rather hard with the noise going on.
Rubbing his head, he heard his little sister's voice at the door. Walking on over, he opened up and let her in, giving the girl a slight nod in greeting. Shun wasn't really sure what her reason for stopping by was, but it didn't really matter. Or did it? The whispers in the back of his head seemed to spark up a bit at the thought.
Once she had entered, he went to go heat up some water so they could have some tea.
"Have you been faring alright since we've gotten back?" he finally said.

It seemed like everyone else had returned home safely, the only exception being... She sighed, closing her eyes as she rubbed her chest; she felt stifled every time she thought of the mindflayer, and how they couldn't even properly put her to rest. Sure, most deaths in Halloween does not involve a body, but it felt wrong to just allow her body to be taken away by the Bogeyman.
She could only hope that they respect her remains enough to not tinker with it.
Pacing around Mac's room, she eventually grabbed her eyephone and sent a text off to Xiu; she would bother Junko about it, but she might want to spend some time with Seiji, right? It had only been a couple of days and the events that had happened at the Isles of the horseman were still fresh in her mind. Never had she suspected in her life time she would see a culture be wiped out. True a few remained, The Lost Clan, but she felt they could only hope at best to keep up the memory.
The only good that had come from it was that Mitsu was so mentally worn that at night she lapsed into a nothingness. Not even the whispers could follow her into her dreams. There she was safe until she next woke to face the day.
At the current moment she was in the bathroom washing her face when she heard the knock, voices filling the air. Was it the whispers? No, the voice sounded familiar, much clearer.
Drying her face quickly with a towel Mitsu slowly emerged from the bathroom, her ears swiveling this way and that as she took in the conversation that was present and the one going on inside her own mind. She was still in a tireless effort trying to focus in on what was being said but was having no luck.
"Xiu?" She hadn't seen the ghoul since the trip, she was glad to see she was alright. Moving further out of the bathroom Mitsu held her arms out toward her hoping to convey she wanted a hug as she approached.

Hearing Shun's voice came as much-needed relief. Though she had spent the previous day alone and resting in her dorm room, it had not been a day spent in silence. Every so often, the peace of her mind would be invaded with a soft, hissing whisper. Compared to that, it was good to finally hear a real, solid voice.
"I've been...better," Xiu admitted, the smile on face more weary than usual, "But...how are you doing? I came by to check on you, and to--Mitsu!"
She was startled when her friend stepped out of the bathroom, through in hindsight, she supposed that she shouldn't have been surprised. Seeing the outstretched arms, Xiu was quick to hurry to her and wind her arms around the other ghoul. "I'm happy to see that you're safe. How are you feeling?" Tired, she was certain. If not physically, then at least mentally from everything that had happened.
The buzzing of her phone brought her out of her thoughts, and she drew away from Mitsu, shooting her friend and her big brother an apologetic smile as she pulled out her phone to scan the text. There was a pause, and then she typed out a reply.Quote: Text to Lizzy: Hi, Lizzy! <33 Ummm, if you want to talk, sure! I'm in aniki's room with Mitsu right now though. Maybe you can drop by?

"I've felt better myself," Shun said rather flatly. As Mitsu came out of the bathroom, he cast her a glance before watching the two hug one another. He had noticed that Xiu looked fairly tired as well. Quite frankly, he wouldn't be surprised if just about everyone from that trip was still worn down.
"No, I do not mind. Lizzy is welcome to my room any time," he replied quietly. The text she had just received must have been from the spider demon. No doubt everyone was wanting to see how their friends were. Most likely, Lizzy had heard about some of the things that had happened on the islands at this point from one source or another.
He went on to check the pot to make sure he had enough water inside of it for everyone, then turned towards the girls.
While he waited, he moved over towards his wolf to lightly place a hand around her from the side.

When her phone started to buzz, she immediately checked the text, smiling when it was confirmed to be a return text from Xiu. The fact that Shun was mentioned in the text was a huge relief; she had no idea that she was that worried about the safety of the returning students, but knowing that Xiu, Shun, and probably Mitsu as well, came back safe and sound was a heavy weight off her shoulders. Just a few less people to worry about.
After informing Mac where she was going, she quickly made her way up one floor, and to Shun's room. The last time she was here, Shun had found her pretty much heartbroken and crying along the corridor... All things considered, this was still a sort of reunion. Despite the circumstances, she hoped that this little meet up would be one that is more happy than sad.
Then again, she wanted to hear more about the Horsemen, as well as... She pressed her lips into a thin line and pinched the bridge of her nose, giving herself a second to calm down before finally knocking on the reaper's door.

"I've been better but it could be worse." Mitsu said softly trying to force a reassuring smile into place. How true that was. She only heard the occasional voice that belonged to no one, she could have been a horseman who had watched the destruction of their home...or she could have been Riley now stuck in the form of a petrified statue.
After embracing the baku Mitsu pulled back so that she could check her phone, leaning into Shun as he came to stand beside her. She wrapped an arm around his waist to hold him close, her eyes lighting up at the mention of Lizzy. "Lizzy? It feels like forever since I've seen Lizzy."
Though the last time she had seen Lizzy was before the trip....when they were in the Haunted House. It seemed there was just one bad memory after another lately. Her ears folding back Mitsu turned toward the door when she heard a knock. Figuring it was Lizzy she pulled away from Shun to answer the door, slowly easing it open to reveal the spider demoness.
"Lizzy! It's good to see you." Mitsu didn't look as physically worn but her voice gave away to how tired she was.

Shun and Mitsu's answers were met with a wry smile. Yes, that about described how everyone was feeling right now, she was certain. They were all grateful of the fact that they were alive and well, but not happy. Everyone's thoughts and feelings were being weighed down by the recent events, after all.
She perked up at the knock on the door--that much be Lizzy!--but stood where she was while Mitsu went to answer the door. Turning to look at Shun, she shifted her feet uncomfortably before taking a deep breath. Even then, when she spoke, her voice was very soft, "Aniki, about what happened a few days ago when I punched you...I...I'm really ashamed. I don't know what came over me." Pressing the palms of her hands against her thighs, she bowed in apology.
After a few seconds ticked by, the baku straightened up, her eyes uncertain as she looked up at Shun to gauge his reaction. When Lizzy entered, however, a small smile spread over her face as relief flooded her. It was so good to see Lizzy again! If there was one thing Xiu was happy about, it was the fact that their friend hadn't been subjected to the insanity and experiences on that trip.
"Yes, it's good to see you!" She echoed Mitsu, before gesturing for the spider demoness to step in so that she could give her a hug.

Ah yes. Xiu had gone to strike Shun back then. And he even had half a mind to attack back, but was preoccupied at the time. The Reaper shook his head to her.
"Do not worry about it. Quite frankly I wouldn't blame you or anyone if they were resentful towards me. I did try to kill Riley and that wasn't something several people did not appreciate," he said plainly. Though, he paused as the voices picked up once again, uttering what sounded like venomous things. Taking in a deep breath, he just focused on Lizzy as she entered the room, nodding quietly to her in acknowledgement.
While the girls were having their little reunion, he went ahead to pour four cups of tea.
"I have some tea here if anyone wants some," he said quietly while setting them onto the desk. He wasn't really sure who wanted what, but they were there just in case.

She could hear voices coming from the other side of the room, and she grew a little anxious as she waited for someone to get the door. When it opened and she was greeted by Mitsu, Lizzy couldn't help the smile on her face as she pulled the ghoul into a tight hug, giving her a squeeze before letting go, holding the ghoul's shoulder and looking at her from an arm's length, "Mitsu! Ohhh, you sound tired... But yes! It's good to see you too!"
What Shun told her about Mitsu's feelings towards the Seeds mission made her feel almost too guilty to look her in the eye and smile, but all the relief at seeing her friends relatively well after a school field trip seemed to override that at the moment.
A hand went to take Mitsu's and she was pulled over to Xiu, where another hug occurred as she pulled both ghouls into a group hug, "I missed you all. I was so worried when you guys didn't return on schedule... It's good to have you back!" She then looked expectantly at Shun to join the group hug.

As soon as Lizzy came through the door Mitsu's arms were wrapping around her in a hug. Squeezing the ghoul lightly Mitsu pulled back, a weak smile on her face. "I'm sorry we made you worry."
She followed Lizzy the short distance into the room, her ears not catching the conversation between Xiu and Shun. To Mitsu it was nothing more than the whispers she had been hearing which she had been doing her best to tune out.
Gathering again for another hug, the lycan looked at Shun expectantly waiting for him to join them. As an added incentive Mitsu rose one of her arms toward the reaper to beckon him over.

Xiu looked a little taken aback by Shun's answer, and though relieved that he was not angry with her, her lips tugged downwards in a very obvious frown. She spoke in a whisper so that she wouldn't startled Mitsu or Lizzy, though her displeasure was evident in both her tone and on her face.
"No, aniki! I do not resent you for what you did! What...what happened to Riley came as a huge shock, but I refuse to blame you or any of the other students for it." After all, she had attacked Red during that particular field trip. At the time, it had just been because it felt like a "kill or be killed" situation. She wouldn't fault anyone for defending themselves.
Xiu definitely wanted some tea--she was probably some kind of tea addict--but she decided that that could wait until after the group hug. The baku squeezed Lizzy back tightly before drawing back and turning her own gaze towards Shun.
"Aniki?" There was an expectant and hopeful note in her voice.

Shun merely shrugged at what Xiu said. She might not resent him but as he said, he would not blame her or anyone if they did. It was probably a natural reaction, he figured. At Lizzy's words though, he raised an eyebrow.
"It must have been something waiting here after the delay," he remarked.
The girls were all in a hug... and now it looked like they wanted him in on it too. The reaper stared for a few moments. Really? Group hug? The one eyed reaper did not look particularly amused with this. With a slight twitch, he slowly and almost begrudgingly made his way over. He didn't extend his arms out though.
He just. Stood within their reach.

Lizzy might had sparkled as Shun came forward, but her RPer still needed to get that out of battle skill from the open classes, so this is a different sort of sparkle. The moment he was within reach, she extended out a hand and tugged him into the hug, "Good things are always worth the wait. I was worried sick though, and Jericho and Mot didn't do too well either."
Mac was probably the only one who kept his head through the wait; he probably kept her sane.
Giving everyone a brief squeeze, she paused; hug done, now what? It seemed a little awkward if they just... Started talking about all the depressing stuff right? Wriggling her toes, she offered a smile, slowly letting go, "Uh, so... Tea?"
