After they had been dismissed, Shun had pretty much spent a full day resting. Sleeping in the gym had helped a little, but he was still extremely worn from everything that had happened. He had practically gone through a war in one day. At least, that was how it felt.
When he awoke in his bed, he stared up at the ceiling, still feeling incredibly sore from everything. Despite having rested rather thoroughly, he still felt somewhat anxious for some reason. It didn't help that he noticed that there were whispers here and there. Or at least he thought he heard them. They weren't very understandable, but it did not make him feel very at ease.
Slowly, he forced himself into a sitting position, feeling his muscles ache as he did so.

Rest had been welcomed when Mitsu had gotten back to the dorms. She had barely made it through the door and into bed when her eyes had closed once again welcoming her into darkness.
It seemed luck was on the lycan's side, her sleep was dreamless, void and black. Her mind was too weary to fabricate a nightmare or even a memory. Instead there was only timeless darkness until she opened her eyes next. Blinking her eyes a few times it took Mitsu a moment to realize where she was. As if the room she was safe and sound inside was actually the dream she had missed out on.
Every muscle complained as soon as she shifted, an angry throbbing greeting her head. Slowly a hand came up and touched the tender wounds finding the dried blood in her hair. She had been too tired to shower, it hadn't even cross her mind.
"Shun?" Her voice nearly cracked, not quite up to speed after having just woken up.

Shun had been trying to push the whispers aside when he heard another soft voice. One that was far more welcomed. Turning, he looked down at the wolf girl, reaching out to place a hand over hers.
"..Morning," he murmured, working on getting his body up and ready. Seeing her touch her head, he could only assume she wasn't feeling much better than he was at the moment. He had a few injuries of his own that could use a bit of extra tending.
"Did you... sleep well at least?" he asked, not bothering asking if she was alright. He had a feeling on the answer to that one.

As soon as she heard Shun's voice faint murmurs seemed to follow. It made Mitsu lift her head for a moment trying to discern where the voices were coming from. She was used to hearing things that some failed to catch but it was unnerving hearing things and unable to pin point the location. The voices sounded distant but at the same time close.
"I...I suppose. How did you sleep?" She asked, flinching lightly as she laid her head back down. Mitsu was fairly certain she had done a fair amount of damage to her own head, tentatively touching the area trying to access the damage. "Are you hurt badly?"

"Well enough... and.. no. I'm fine. Sore and a bit battered but it is not anything to worry about," he said before furrowing his brow as he looked her over.
"What about you?"
As he waited for an answer, Shun gingerly crawled out of bed to fetch a first aid kit.. as well as some pain killers. Both things sounded pretty good to have right about now. Just as his hand touched the case, he paused as he could have sworn he heard something once again. There was no one else in the room aside from Mitsu and himself though. With a light grimace, he picked it up and returned to the bed.

"Sore mostly..." At least that's what she hoped, it was hard to tell how her head looked without being able to see. It probably felt worse than it actually was.
Once Shun had managed to crawl his way out of the bed Mitsu struggled with the thought of whether she should sit up or not. She wasn't exactly comfortable but something told her getting up would only make that feeling worse. After a long mental struggle Mitsu finally determined it would be best to sit up so Shun could help her treat the wounds on her head. With a grimace she pushed herself into a sitting position, the expression on her face pained until she was finally seated upright.
With a groan she placed a hand against the side of her head. "Make that very sore.." Letting her hand drop she stared at the floor for a moment before her ears perked hearing the whispers of distant voices again. She tried to follow the sounds but there was no discernible direction. It was starting to put her on edge, an uneasy feeling washing over her as she continued to listen trying to distinguish what was being said.
"It really happened didn't it?" She said after a long silence. "The Four Clans are really gone..."

Shun caught that look of pain upon her features, and it was then that he opened up the bottle of painkillers to offer her a pill. It should at least help her a little. He went ahead and took a couple for himself as well. Scooting closer to her, he took a wet rag and began to gently dab it on her head to clean the dried blood away, as well as to help him see where the injuries were exactly. He wouldn't really be able to bandage it easily, but he could try doing what he could anyway.
"Yeah. They aren't all gone though. But it will take some time before they can really recover from this blow," he said quietly.
The reaper closed his eyes as he heard something once more. It was like a chill brushing down his back as it was trying to tell him something. He didn't know what that was though. Though, he did notice that Mitsu's ears were moving about, as if she was hearing things as well.
"... Can you hear it? The whispers... They're around, but I can't understand what's being said," he added. Perhaps she could make it out better than himself.

Looking at the medicine offered Mitsu hesitantly took the pill and held it in her fingers undetermined what to do with it. She rolled the pill gently back and forth before she finally slipped it into her mouth and struggled to swallow without the aid of something to drink. She made another face, this one showing her distaste for the bitter medicine since she hadn't been able to swallow it before it began to dissolve. It left an odd taste in her mouth, one she wasn't certain would go away any time soon.
Mitsu only winced again when she felt the cloth dabbing at her head, closing her eyes against the pain she tried to focus on the conversation instead. "T-That's true." She struggled to keep focused, though the more it hurt the louder the whispers got. Shun had managed to loosen the tangles of blood soaked hair revealing four long gashes down the side of her head, gashes that were mirrored on the other side. "Some made it here but many didn't. It won't be easy....they just lost their home, their friends...their families." The thought saddened Mitsu greatly. She had lost her true family long ago but had since built a new one, one that she knew she couldn't handle losing.
"H-Hear it?" Mitsu's ears fell back as she looked around again trying to pin point the noises. "I..I do. I can't understand them either." She shifted in her seat, her arms wrapping around her torso. "What do you think it is?"

Once he could see the wounds, Shun frowned at them. These didn't look like someone else had clawed her head... Grimacing, he gently continued to try and treat them however he could.
"Indeed. But, they are strong. At least I know the heirs are. I don't doubt that they'd be able to pull together," he said quietly before pausing as she answered him regarding the voices. So then she couldn't decipher them either. This was slightly concerning seeing how she had keener hearing than he did.
"I'm not certain, but I don't like it. They sound.. suspicious. Sometimes it sounds as if they're trying to suggest things to me," he murmured while trying to listen to them right now. There wasn't anything in particular that he could pick up on, however.

"I seem to remember...feeling this way when we were at the portals." Her hand came up to her head where the claw marks were, the whispers varying between being distant and close. One moment it sounded like the voices were out in the hall the next like someone was trying to whisper a secret into her ear.
What were they whispering? If only she could understand them. Maybe that would put her mind at ease, instead she could only imagine the sounds of conspiracy. Like someone was talking behind her back even though she was within earshot. Were the voices laughing? Taunting? Talking about how useless she had been? There wasn't anything she could have done was there? For once Mitsu was certain everything had been beyond her control and there was nothing she could have done but she could have swore the voices were saying otherwise.
Shifting again uncomfortably Mitsu's fingers curled inward toward her scalp making it very apparent how she had been injured in the first place. "They won't stop..."

That sounded about right. Though, at the time, he thought the voices were from the masses of people that were in the area. He recalled feeling an unnatural amount of rage as well. Did that have something to do with this? Shun wasn't entirely certain.
"No.. they won't. It is making me a bit uneasy," he murmured while watching as Mitsu's hands inched towards her head. Gently, he took her hand to try and stop her from hurting herself further.
"I think that phoenix did something to us. Either that or the hunters did."
A chill ran down his spine. They seemed to be insinuating that he can't protect Mitsu. At least, that was what he was getting. It was never easy but the feelings were eating away at him.

A small sound of protest bubbled up when Shun took her hand pulling it away from her head. She didn't fight it but it didn't keep her from whimpering softly before leaning in to rest her forehead against his shoulder.
"Do you think it will go away?" She was hopeful but the whispers weren't being too reassuring at the moment.

There was a moment's pause there as he thought on that. Were that 'no's he was hearing?
"I hope so. This is.. distracting. I prefer having a clear mind," he frowned while rubbing his head with his free hand. He went on and squeezed hers gently. Shaking his head, Shun was trying to shove the voices out, but it didn't really work all too well.
There were a few other things going through his mind, regarding the recent events.
"Mitsu... do you resent me?"

Mitsu wasn't sure if she found reassurance in his words but she clung to them anyway in hopes that this would fade. It had to get better otherwise what would she do? Could she somehow learn to live with this? Would Shun's mediation help? Something told her that her feeble attempts would be even worse with whispering going on in her head.
And then the question. It was rather unexpected. A few seconds passed while Mitsu actually digested the fact that Shun had asked and it wasn't the voices she had been hearing. "R...resent you? Why would I resent you?" She asked, pulling away slightly so she could look into Shun's good eye.

Shun shifted a bit, thinking that over for a few moments. He seemed almost hesitant on explaining himself.
"I tried to kill Riley. And while we were by the portals, I had wanted to kill the hunters. Really badly. A part of me was actually looking forward to watching them bleed. To watch them die."
Something about the latter actually disturbed him to some extent. While he did want to kill the hunters, he didn't take any actual satisfaction out of doing the actual kill, from what he had actually experienced before. But the things he felt back there... it was as if he was going to enjoy doing it.
