History: Unlike most Soul Reapers, Jisaku wasn't born in the Soul Society. He was brought there by an unnamed Soul Reaper after his hometown was obliterated in a mysterious explosion. Afterward, he spent some time wandering through the East Rukongai until he came across some information. He heard about creatures called Hollows and, based on their description, deduced that they were the ones responsible for the destruction of his old home. Because of that, Jisaku decided to become a Soul Reaper to prevent this tragedy from happening anywhere else.
After he came across a retired Soul Reaper, he begged her to train him and make him stronger. It took a while to convince her, but it was well worth it as, upon completing the six year courses, he was granted Lieutenant position of Squad Five right off the bat. However, when he heard a friend of his (the previous Lieutenant of Squad Four) was out of action, he started taking over her duties little by little until he decided to transfer altogether to Squad Four, believing he could do better there. After achieving his bankai, he was promoted to Captain of Squad Four.
Seven years later...
Changes come more often than go. As Jisaku has grown in strength, so has his love life as he and Lieutenant Ayumi Korogame are now actively dating. In addition, he has also been appointed godfather of Rei and Jasmine Seshiro's two children, Cedric and Kimi. But where there is good news, there is also bad news. Jisaku was struck dumb when he heard that the indiscriminate bombing by the Observers had taken the life of his mentor, Natsuko Himawari.

Shikai Incantation: "Glow, Hotaru!"
Shikai Appearance: With the release command given, Hotaru's blade splits into eight glowing green orbs, each about the size of a billiard ball.
Shikai Abilities: At top speed, each orb is capable of piercing cleanly through solid stone i.e. not leaving any cracks. Their piercing power comes from an actual blade fragment which rotates like a gyroscope at an immeasurable speed. The light emitted also seems to act as a "life meter" for Jisaku (the brighter, the better). If he were to take damage, the light would grow dimmer and would turn back to eight shards of metal if the shikai is broken (or he dies. Whichever comes first).
Shikai Techniques: Chiryō (Therapy) - By focusing more of his spiritual energy into the orbs, the light seems to have a sort of therapeutic, stress relieving effect. As a member of Squad Four, this is vital in order to calm down patients.
─Zanpakuto Information {Bankai}─
Bankai Name: Raikouhi Hotaru (Lightning Queen Hotaru)
Bankai Incantation: "Bankai! Raikouhi Hotaru!"
Zanpakuto Appearance {While Bankai is Active}: The shikai itself turns from green to a near blinding shade of blue and the orbs are crackling with electricity. Not only that, but Jisaku has linear green tattoos covering his body and his glasses turn into tinted goggles for increased accuracy.

Bankai Attacks/Abilities: Jisaku's speed and spiritual pressure practically double. Plus, the tattoos covering his body keep him from getting zapped not only from his own bankai, but any electric attack coming his way. Any other elemental attack, however, is fair game. While stationary, the orbs crackle with about 500 volts of electric energy each. They can gather more energy while moving and can strike like lightning bolts.
Kaminari Atsuen (Rolling Thunder) - All eight orbs get in a circle (3 feet in diameter) and start rotating to build up energy. At its maximum, the circle can build up to 100,000 volts. After which, the circle is launched and starts rolling like a wheel towards its intended target, zapping or shredding anything in its path. After about ten seconds, the whole thing causes a huge spontaneous electric discharge about 100 feet wide. There are two downsides to this attack, however. One, it takes a while to build up energy. Two, for those of you who weren't paying attention, Jisaku really doesn't like explosions. If ever he manages to pull this off, Jisaku immediately deactivates it and curls up in the fetal position with his hands over his ears.
