He had a step-father always ignoring him and when he did pay attention, it was only to beat him for being pathetic in his eyes. But he did have one thing he enjoyed doing despite the pain, and that was taking care of his grandfather's plants. He considered the plants friends and always did research to find new plants to grow appearance: (one in the hood)

Garett was walking towards the park to try and cool off. he had new bruises on his face and neck but he shook his head and pulled his hood up to hide his face as best as he could from people passing by. He shivered from the pain but did his best not to make a sound

A strange man came out of the bushes and went up to him, "Hello there young man. I see you are in need of a friend." He said laughing his head off. "Here." He took the boys hand and placed a fairly large seed in it and closed his hand around it, "Plant this outside and in two day's time a friend will pop out. POP OUT!" he yelled before running away laughing and screaming like a crazy person.

garett gasped and held onto the the seed tightly, watching the man run off quickly before looking down at the object in his hands. a new friend apprantly could come out of this seed but he was thinking it was another flower. Garett just shrugged and walked back to the house trying to hide it from his father

The man was drunk again. He looked at him, "Where the hell have you been?!" He yelled throwing an empty bottle before falling onto the couch passing out.

Garett had flinched and managed to dodge the bottle but he walked away and headed outside to dig a new hole for his flower. he smiled at the familiar dirt on his hands as he put the seed in and patted the dirt ". . . .you'll be my new friend. . .alright? and I'll take. . .good care of you here. I promise"

Two day's passed and in those two day's a large plant grew and there was a flower pod waiting to open up. Finally in the late morning the flower started to open.

Garett had been watching it grow in amazement but he blinked when he came to water the plant and see it open. he dropped the can and backed up seeing it open in front of him "w-what the hell. . .i-is going on?!"

When the flower finally opened up there was a girl about the same age as him sleeping inside. Feeling the sun on her she woke up opening her eyes and stretching. When she saw him she smiled, "Are you Garett? I heard you talking to me as I grew..." She said softly.

Garett's eyes widened seeing the girl but he blushed from shyness when she spoke his name. He breathed in and walked to touch her hair and see if she was real ". . .I. . .y-yeah. . .my name is Garett. . . w-who are you?"

The girl smiled, "I don't have a name...." She said softly feeling his hand on her hair. Tilting her head a bit, "Will you give me a name?"

He pet her hair and smiled feeling how real she was. he held onto her hands and helped her stand on her feet ". . .Writh. . . I'll call you Writh, okay?" he nodded and brought her into his arms for a hug

Writh smiled and hugged him back, "It sounds beautiful. Thank you Garett." She said softly blushing a bit.

Garett blushed and smiled but he looked back seeing the time. he bit his lip and held onto her hand to bring her upstairs "stay in this room please, and don't come out, no matter what" he asked as he rushed down to start cooking, knowing his father would be home soon

Writh blinked at him but nodded. She sat on his bed when she heard his father come home slamming the door, "WHERE IS MY DINNER?!"
