Arwen sighed as she collapsed on the stone bench in front of the house. "I'm such an idiot," she muttered, covering her face with her hands.

A slightly chilly wind blew through the garden, not one of ominous characteristics, but of a winter breeze. Following that very wind was the emerald eyed man Navarre, his eyes glued to the house he grew closer to. Yes, this was the place, he was sure of it. Now where was Arwen?
Navarre wandered around aimlessly, searching every crook and nanny(?) of the place until he heard faint murmurs. He listened to it intently and followed it to Arwen. "There you are." he said softly.

She turned at his voice, shocked, then stood to leave. With her back turned, her reply floated over to him on the wind, her voice soft and thick with tears. "Don't you understand a goodbye when you hear it?"

"Arwen," Navarre started. "I know about you're real age, and about our... 'marriage'."  

[Mayah Playah]

"Then why are you here?" she questioned, refusing to look at him.  

[Its Smiley]

"Because we've got to talk about it." he sighed and sat down on the bench, gesturing for her to sit next to him.

"No, there is nothing left to say," she replied.  

[Its Smiley]

"If that were the case then I wouldn't be here." he remarked. He curled his fingers around the knee over his other knee and studied her a minute. "I know you don't want to talk about it, Arwen, but you also know that there's no way to run away from it."

Her shoulders started to shake as Arwen started to cry. "Why can't you just go and stop haunting me? Your presence has followed me for eleven years, Navarre. Just when it stops, you come back, and my heart can't handle much more. I've loved you since I was five years old."

"Oh, Arwen," Navarre frowned and held a hand out to her when another voice came from his mouth, the same, yet with a different handle on things. "You don't mean that. It was just a childhood crush, and nothing more." He pulled his hand away and glanced down at him, wondering if it was really him who said it.  

[Mayah Playah]

"Dont tell me what I felt was just a kid thing, Navarre," she snapped, turning to him. "Eleven years, only you echoed through my mind. I tried to forget you, and for a moment, I did, but then...then Quadrille died and you came back...it's too much. It's just too much."

"I can't tell you if it's a sign or not, but I can tell you that it can't be love." he said and stood up. "I wish to only be your friend, not to hurt you."

Arwen laughed bitterly. "I don't want to be with you, Navarre. I want you to be wary of your actions." Picking a dark red rise from a nearby bush, she crushed it in her hand, emotionless as the thorns sliced her tender skin and overflowed the skin with dark red blood. Her hand fell to her side, staining her dress, shoes, skin, and the white roses by her with the red liquid. Although it hurt, she kept her eyes closed. "Listen to my goodbye, please. My heart broke when my Quadrille died. I can't afford to have it hurt more because of you."

"What do you have so much against me that the very sight of me disgusts you?" Navarre demanded, a fiery look in his emeralds of eyes. "You lead me to believe that you are my wife, how else was I to treat you? Then you go on about these things I've no recollection of? If it is a goodbye you want then fine, just tell me, without any way of dodging the question, tell me what exactly I've done that tortures you so! Because Lord knows you are torturing me now."
