Maswali shuddered against the cold bitter rain that lightly beat down against her fur. She was tired of all this rain, that's partly why she was out here so far from the pride. She just wanted a change of scenery - something that wasn't completely swallowed in dreary grey clouds. But, even here she found no relief, and it was far more than frustrating. Angry with herself, she found herself thinking again of that male she'd met while in the Roguelands. He had been so sweet, and seemed to have genuinely been interested in her. Obviously, she had been interested in him, and that's why he still plagued her thoughts to this day. But she had let him slip through her paws and now she had to deal with that.
Thunder cracked loudly in the sky, and Maswali let out a small yelp, skittering under the nearest tree. Her thought process was as normal scattered in fifty directions, so the thought of taking shelter under a wet tree - never crossed her mind.
The rain didn't seem to be letting up, and although it wasn't heavy the thunder warned that it would be. She'd never make it home in time to escape it, especially with how far out she'd gone. With a sigh, she unsheathed her claws and began to slowly climb the tree. Another flow of memories flooded over her and a pang of guilt washed over her again.

The loud noises made Pandra jump a little in fright, but like her mummy always said after the rain and storming is done rainbows liked to appear. Rainbows. She loved their multi-coloured lights and ironically Pandra had been born after a storm with a rainbow in the sky. A loud crack brought her to the present. It was a good thing she was safe with her mother inside their cave home she couldn't imagine walking around in this sort of weather.
Pandra turned to her mother as she calmly told her as well as her siblings that the sounds were getting farther and farther apart meaning the storm was about to come to an end. "Gewd, I don' like stormin' I wanna see a rainbow!" Cautiously she poked her head out and got a drop of water on her nose for the trouble. Going out even further she heard her mother caution her to stay close. "Alright mummy, just wanna see the rainbow. Love you!"

Another rumble shook the sky around her, and again it shook the lioness from her stupor. She hadn't even been paying attention to how far apart the cracks were, which she probably should have. But how could she when there was only one thing on her mind? She was utterly lost, what was she supposed to do now?
Lightening stretched across the sky, illuminating the darker spots of the horizon. She blinked a few times, hoping to maintain a good look at what was around her. But her terrible vision won, and as the sky darkened, so did her view.
A low rumble slipped up her throat as she looked up at the sky. She wished this rain would stop, the scenery might take her mind off the troubles she was stuck in. But she wasn't exactly good with the weather, so she didn't really know what to expect.
As she lie there, her tail swinging loosely along the branch, a strange scent filled her nose. It was new, but then again everything would be new here. Though, the scent didn't smell threatening she knew never to trust her assumptions. Then again, her curiosity was beginning to kick in, and she lightly pounced down from her low branch, cautiously intent on discovering the cause of the strange new scent.

"You're my honey bunch, sugar plum, pumpie umpy umpkin... you're my sweetie pie." Pandra paused as she made a leap from rock to rock. "You're my cuppy cake, gum drop, snookum snookums you're...the apple of my eye! " She cooed out the last part, it was her favourite song her mother sang to her when she was a little cub and for some reason Pandra sang it every now and then. A faint rumble sound came from off in the distance, it wasn't so bad. It was kinda relaxing. The dampness in the air was annoying though. Usually after storms came a coolness in the weather and made Pandra want to burrow down with her mummy. For some strange reason she felt like doing the opposite today and looking around her home to see what she could see.
She was just rounding the corner when she stopped when she spotted a dripping wet interestingly pattern lioness. "...'ello." Pandra squeaked out and cautiously took a step back. "Never seen you 'afore(before)."

Well - that had been relatively easy. Maswali blinked bewildered as she stared down the cub. At first, she could only make out her white. But with a few blinks to accustom herself to the scene she began to pick up on the faint colors on her pelt. She - she was gorgeous! A striking cub, with an adorable speech pattern. What was it with these cubs and these cute ways of talking? She shrugged it off, quickly summing it up to a dialect of the area. Cubs where she came from, weren't so adorable.
Maswali took a small sniff of the air, confirming that this cub was the oddly sweet scent she had smelled moments ago. "Hello!" She cooed softly, stretching her neck out towards the cub before stepping forward. She giggled at her next words, still transfixed by her coat. "Well that's because i've never been here before." She dipped her head lightly. "But it looks like you've been here quite a while. You must be comfortable with the area to be out alone at such a young age." With a small purr, she winked at the cub quickly and lowered her voice softly. "Good for you! It's never a bad thing to know your boundaries."

"Ayup! I'm the greatest explorer and soon to be hunter in the whole world!" Pandra wriggled her head up in child hauntiness and straightened her body proudly. "My mummy said so. Oh! Welcome to the rogue lands then! Yeah I'm not to far away from home-" Pandra gestured with a paw, waving away from her body. "What brings brings you 'round here? Oh! How wude of me! I'm Pandra and you are?" She beamed out a smile towards the adult awaiting the answers. Assuming the role of an adult. "Maybe I can help ya with sumfin."

"Well! That's quite a goal! But you look like a big girl, I bet you could do it easily!" She chuckled playfully at the cub. She was so adorable! "That's a pretty name, my name is Maswali!" Puffing her chest out proudly she smiled down at the cub. "And I come from the Pridelands, but i'm a little far from my home."
Maswali was taken aback slightly by the cub's comment. It was strange that she had hit the nail on the head. Though she needed help, she wasn't entirely sure a cub was the best one to help her. "Hey now, I thought you wanted to a be a hunter? What's with the multitasking?" A little sign of confusion on her face, she stepped ever closer to the cub. "You're quite the juggler aren't you?"

"Why thank you so kindly!" Pandra blushed cutely and pawed at the ground. "Thanks! Mama said it means 'chief dragon' cause my fur looks like a dragon!" She mumbled the adults name under her breath a couple of times inorder to say it correctly. "It is very nice to meet chu Maswali! Oh! Pridelands huh? I've never heard of that place 'afore! Ayup! My mommy always says I bounce all over the place when I talk. Always in motion." Pandra giggled before wiggling her tail. "How come you ain't in the pridelands but here?" She knew she was being nosy but hey she was curious why one would leave ones home.

"Well, i've never seen a dragon so I should probably take your Mom's word for it. But I think she got the chief part right. You're a very dedicated young lady." She smiled again nodding her head in approval of her own comment, but even as she spoke her mind was off traveling yet again. She could hear most of the cubs words, but they seemed to have less of an effect. "And it's never a bad thing to be in motion! It just sets you closer to your goal. Good hunters have to be very fit! I should know - I am one!" Though she wasn't trying to boast, she realized a little late that it was exactly what she'd done. Oh well, too late to take it back now.
Moving on, she took a moment to try and answer the cub's next question. It wasn't really right to throw her problems onto a cub, and she knew that. But, she was really not in a state of mind to judge morals. "Well, I was thinking about going to look for someone. But, I don't think it's such a good idea afterall..." She sighed audibly, allowing all of the air in her lungs to come out. "He might think i'm weird for it."

Pandra giggled. "Yeah chief is a silly thing but that's okay! I mostly get called Dra or Pan." Pandra nodded in agreement. "Yeah I train all the time." What Maswali didn't know was that her idea of training and Pandra's idea of training were different. Jumping small rocks and dancing around wasn't really the best way to hone ones skills.
"Oh," She stared at Maswali with her headtilted. " Well if you don't try you won't know will you? I mean you could miss out on the bestest thing you've ever known!" Pandra smiled and patted her paw to the adults shoulder."Sometimes the bestest things in life are worth going after or so my mommy says to me. I wish you luck on finding who needs to be finding!" Pandra looked at the sky once more. "I should be going back home soon I've been gone a while even before I met you. Wanna come meet my mom? It's drier in my home if you are interested."

"You know something Pandra? You may just be the smartest cub i've ever met." She exclaimed softly, her faded smile slowly returning. "Even if those are your Mom's words, you're a very smart lioness for using them like that." She smiled appreciatively at the cub's pat. It was comforting even from the young cub.
"Well then, I think you're right. You wouldn't want to scare your Mom! Go on and get back home, I think i'll stay here a bit." Shaking her head lightly, she nudged the cub gently in the side. "Besides, Mom might not be too pleased to see a complete stranger in her den, especially if you have brothers and sisters." A bright crack of thunder spayed the sky, followed by a bright flash of lightening. Giving Maswali a good look at the cub by her feet. She truly was the spitting image of her coat. A bright light at the end of a dark tunnel. A very bright colorful one.
