No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings like I do and I blame you!
No one bites back as hard on their anger
None of my pain and woe can show through.

Anwen had been quite amused by the doctor's words about her 'riding like a woman'. I can only imagine his expression if I told him that I was a woman. But she couldn't. She could never give away that identity and never let him say anything if he did. Otherwise it would be her life for his mistake.

She reached the forest before he did, though, since her mare was used to jumping over fences and they'd taken a shortcut through a farmer's field in order to win the race to the forest. She slowled to a stop and turned in her saddle, watching and waiting for him to catch up, a grin plastered on her face.

But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours only lonely
My love is vengeance, that's never free.

Ewan could distinguish Andrew's grin from many paces away as he came trotting up at a light pace. Gregor had refused to follow the same hurdling route that Eponine did and developed an ill-temper upon Ewan's words of harsh encouragement. Allowing the horse to do as it pleased, including stopping to drink from a rain water trough, meant Ewan could at least stay on the beast's back. Pursuing Gregor after being bucked from the horse's back always proved troublesome after past conflicts. Chasing down the obstinate steed stressed Ewan's patience significantly more than the leisurely race. Nevertheless, the long disparity between arrival times gave Ewan enough time to come up with an elaborate excuse.

"Did you see them?" he called, finally coming to a stop beside the squire. "Dragons over by the mountains? I had to stop and take a look." Ewan never considered himself the best liar. Besides unbelievable stories he couldn't make eye contact, busying his eyes with scouting out the plants he needed despite already knowing their locations. "Ah, here they are," he said quickly, jumping off his horse and walking over to a spring strong enough to maintain a thin water surface in the warm weather. The vegetation was abundant, apparently forgotten by the local animals that fed on the plants despite Ewan's constant attempts of gating and frightening the creatures.

"It won't take long," he muttered, returning to his saddle to retrieve his collection sack.

Anwen glanced over at Ewan as he finally cuaght up and also climbed down from the mare, whom she led to the small spring and allowed her to drink to her heart's content. She watched as he went to retrieve his sack for the herbs and picked a couple herself, sniffing them, "What do these treat?" She asked before dropping them and removing the bandages from her hands and dipped her slowly healing hands into the cool spring water in order to help drown the pain slightly. They weren't the bloody pulps that they had been a week prior to this mission, but they were stiffer than a merchant when it came to lowering the price of a pricy item. Though she looked intently in the water to catch sight of a toad, a sight that she'd seen few times due to her lack of getting out of the training grounds, she was curious about the doctor. She'd heard that his ego was the size of an elephant.

But my dreams, they aren't as empty

I have hours only lonely
My love is vengeance, that's never free.

As alexandra approached the woods with her horse and lover behind her, she got down and tied angelo onto a tree. She got her bow and arrow from the sadle and climbed down. "Would we walk and talk first or would we find a nice place to play archery?" she asked ryan. she wanted to go walk around and find a place to start shooting. but she also wondered what he wants

"A variety of things," Ewan responded, busying himself with snipping only the withering leaves of the plants. "These lot handle the simple things like inflammation, skin irritation, and in some cases provide sufficient fiber for a particular Lord who thinks his daily bouts of stomach blockage are cured by a miracle weed muddled together with purple dye from the Royal Kitchen." Ewan continued to move from plant to plant, hearing Andrew transition to the closest stream but not turning to look his way. "Sometimes the key to being a doctor is simple persuasion and I am very, very good at persuading." A smile grimaced his face, he'd have to remember that line to use on his next female patient.

"Of course there are some plants that are difficult to come by that have unparalleled healing power. We rarely get so lucky to come across one in this region though." Ewan stood up and looked to find Andrew squatting along the creek with his hands resting in the ground water. Even from the concealment, Ewan could make out the bright red scar tissue spreading across the palms and down the fingers like rays of a blood sun. "Luckily for us..." he began, moving toward Andrew and offering his hands out to see his, "...such wounds can be helped."

Ewan identified the softness in his voice, a tone he reserved for frightened women and the young in order to calm their nerves after injury, but chose to remain professional. How long had these wounds existed?

Ryan dismounts from Angelo. "Let's walk and talk for a while. I am sure as we move along we will come across a good place to shoot." He says to her with a smile.

Courtney made her way through the forest, jumping over stumps and running down trails. She brought her horse to a halt, slowly trotting as they made it deeper in the woods. She knew it wasnt safe since the dark knights threat but she couldnt just sit around waiting, always afraid to get out. She patted her horse and stopped at a near by creek, letting her horse have time to drink. She only hoped the Prince would not be mad that she went with out protection.

Eliza hid in the trees around her stump area, watching people from afar and questioning them all at once. She did catch Anwen with a strange man but she did not care too much.
"If she gets in trouble, it will only be her fault."

Alexandra smiles and takes his hand as they walk through the woods to find a perfect place to shoot. " So Ryan, what tree should we look for?" she asked him, because there were so many healthy trees in the forest, why not pick one?

Anwen listened to his words, her attention upon him but also upon her hands. She wondered whether she'd be able to properly play the fiddle, let alone a set of pipes, again once the tissue had completely healed. Looking up as she heard Ewan coming closer and talking with an odd kindness, one that hadn't been heard since her mother's death. She swallowed to keep herself from blubbering, knowing that it would be useless since it had been years since her mother had originally died, and took her hands from the water and showed the doctor the stiff hands that could barely wrap around the hilt of a sword properly. She looked down at the water in slight embarassment, "I've been tending them myself for the past couple of weeks or so... but the most I've done is numb them and freshly wrap them every evenin'."

But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours only lonely
My love is vengeance, that's never free.

"It's not so much a tree we need to be looking for, but more of a place. a clearing of any size will do. Then we can choose a tree to use as target practice." Ryan says with a smile.

Ewan took Andrew's hands and ran his thumbs gently along the rough skin of the palms before tracing up each individual finger to determine the progression of the healing. The scars were hard as a rock, less so leading up to the fingertips but still impressive that the squire had managed grasping the reigns of his mare. "Slight infection has likely prevented them from healing fully thus far, but you'll still need something to combat the scar tissue," he whispered distractedly, still fully immersed in oberserving the skin. Such wounds he usually encountered with blacksmiths who reached for iron projects before they were fully cooled. "How did you get this, if you don't mind me asking?"

Anwen glanced up at him for a moment, visably flinching when he said the word 'infection'. So the herbs that the village healer had given her hadn't helped in the slightest. That made things take a nosedive, but then again, he said that there was something he could do to combat the scar tissue. "I... I was training without my mentor." She said quietly, her voice slipping into the feminine voice that was her true voice and not the faked alto of a young man. "Will I be able to use my hands properly?"

Eliza watched the conversasion between Anwen and the merchant. Her eyes leering like a snake from the trees, watching in disgust.
"She is trying to mend her scars? Does she not know that strength is never pretty?"
She whispered in a tone that could be heard by Anwen.
"Weakling..." Eliza bolted to her spot once more, leaving behind the sound of leaves rustling and the only word she said lingered. Why did she say such a word? And why did she target Anwen of all people now? It did not bother her.
Eliza was already hiding in her little home, the stump still there and the fire that was used already extinguished.
"She is indeed useless. Just like my brother, that girl will die easily."
