User Image It was a fairly pleasant sunny day, the birds were lively, singing blissfully under the warmth of the sun's rays along with the cool breeze in the air. Sitting on a patch of grass, Aalina was taking in the day's weather while twirling one of her blonde braids of hair, before her thoughts wandered off to what she could do beside sitting around. Well she could be a responsible student and walk home so she could start to work on her assignments. Nah, it would be insane to pass up this perfect napping weather for walking into the stuffy indoors just to work on the usual boring old homework. She could start and finish her schoolwork later anyway when night began to fall. With a small smirk on her face as if amused by her own decision, she casually laid her back on the grass with her arms tucked behind her wild hair and her ankles lazily crossed. She closed her eyes slowly as she began to drift off under the sun's warmth.

User Image It was rare for him to come out during the day. Seraphim tended to prefer to be out at night time, when there were less people around to see him. However, as he had started to read through his beloved collection of manga, he realized he wasn't being effective. He had powers and he had a presence of sorts. He wanted to let people know they could look to him for help. At least the help he could provide. A part of him feared that he was making his appearance out of a desire to be admired. He was proud of his wings, and proud of his angellic image. Yet at the same time he felt the real reason he did this...was just for the chance to walk.

Seraphim's bare feet made hardly a sound as he walked over a grassy area of what he assumed was a part of the local park. He liked the warm feeling of the sun on his wings, the wind ruffling the feathers as he ambled along. His sword lightly smacked against his thigh, making a little 'flap' sound that seemed so very ironic when he considered that was the sound his wings would make if he could fly.

As he walked along, he noticed a girl laying on the ground. For a moment he was a little startled, as she laid with her eyes closed from where he could see. Well, since he was hoping to establish himself as someone to be trusted when needed, he wandered over to where she laid. She could have been hurt and unconscious right? As Seraphim drew closer to Aalina, he felt a shy nervousness making him uncertain about what he was doing. "H-hello?"

On the edge of drifting off into her evening nap, Aalina heard the faint sound of what she thought was beating of a small bird's wings. The sound seem to gradually grow closer and closer to where she laid in the grass. After a few moments of the constant fluttering noise it had soon stopped as quickly as she had picked it up. Shortly after the flapping had ceased, she heard the uneasy “hello” of a boy's voice. What a coincidence that the flapping seem to stop right before this unseen nervous stranger addressed her.

Aalina opened her eyes to see a wavy purple haired boy standing over her. “Hi,” she said in the most cheerful tone she could muster. A friendly tone might shake off the poor boy's shyness or nervousness a bit. She realize the boy she just greeted was wearing a winged headdress of some sort, then shifted her view to see a matching glistening golden robe. Well that is one wicked costume, even though it was not a character she recognized, which is nothing out of the ordinary as she only paged through her brother's manga and comics he had left laying around the house. Not the best way to keep up on the latest manga and such. Wait, why was there a cosplayer in the local park? Was he lost? No, he couldn't be a cosplayer, as far as she could remember there wasn't any conventions that where to take place anywhere near the area for awhile. Well he certainly isn't some crazy loon in a costume, his clothing war far too detailed. Unless he is a loon who is a decent tailor.

Something else seem out of place though, but she couldn't pick it out right at that moment. The sword at his hip? The collar around his neck? The wings that appeared to be sprouting out from his back? The wings, that was it, from her angle she could not see how attach the wings were attached. The feathers were also not sticking out in clumsy way or layered unevenly like the usual costume wings. His wings overall looked very realistic, maybe too realistic. Unless this guy pried the wings off a very large bird of prey it was very likely, at least from the visual evidence she could gather, that they were real. The fluttering of the small bird she heard before the boy spoke, that wasn't a bird, was it? Well, Aalina's mind could only wander to one thought at this point: a real angel was standing before her. Some hysterical death must have just taken place on a peaceful day in the park, hysterical if she wasn't the one that was dead. Aalina felt like there was an uneasy knot forming at the pit of her stomach. She should have gone with the choice of being a responsible student rather than be a deadbeat taking a snooze in the local park. The warmth of the sun, she could still feel it tickle her skin, dead souls can't feel such sensations, something she hope was a fact at that moment. If she wasn't dead, then he might be her guardian angel who didn't think ahead of time of how to make a proper entrance. At this point it was best to take this situation head on, whatever it was she got herself into by simply choosing to take a nap.

Aalina then realized she must have looked like an idiot for lounging on the ground while gawking at him for several seconds after she had respond to the angel's greeting. Seconds or was it minutes? Her perception of time was certainly off after the flurry of her inner questions. She quickly sat up, even though that action could not make up for what odd first impression she may have just made. Looking up straight at the boy, she spoke what was intended to be a lighthearted tone but instead came out as stern voice. Her subconscious must have wanted to take this situation more seriously. “So.. did I just happen to croak in the park on such a wonderful day or did my guardian angel decide to make a not so subtle appearance?”

When the girls eyes opened up, she greeted him with a simple 'hi'. Seraphim's lips pulled upwards into a faint, but embarrassed, smile. She wasn't unconscious or hurt...she'd been napping. He should have thought of that rather then jumping to the conclusion that she had been hurt. Honestly, he clearly was thinking too pessimistically lately.

"I apologize if I have disturbed you." He felt the urge to apologize for disturbing her nap. She was looking at him a little speculatively. Perhaps he was standing too close? Seraphim took a small self conscious step backwards. She did not reply right away, and Seraphim's discomfort grew as seconds turned into minutes. He must have been completely wrong about this. His appearance had frightened her maybe? Or made her question her own sanity? He hadn't heard much about other strange looking people being seen around town. As far as he could tell, a lot of magical kids worked at night. She sat up rather quickly then, which made him wonder even more about her thoughts of what she was seeing.

"What?" He responded with more then a little bit of surprise. Her question had the hint of a joke but...was spoken with such a serious tone. Seraphim's cheeks flared a bright red in contrast of his silvery eyes. "N-no! Your not dead. I just..." He had just thought she'd been hurt. If he could think that just at seeing her laying there, it was so sensible that she'd think she was dead upon seeing a angel staring over her. The guardian angel thought was so..flattering but...it made his blush travel all the way up to his ears.

"I am sorry. I am not a guardian angel. I mean..I suppose I am in a way?" He was wasn't he? He protected people and was there to help anyone that needed it right? "I am called Seraphim. I saw you laying here and thought..well..I wanted to make sure you were not hurt or anything. It...it seems sort of silly now. I apologize if I scared you any."
