The stronghold of the west is exactly what the Fiddler Estate is what it looks like: a place of safety for peasants in a time of war, famine, and disease. There are plenty of rooms and places for noble guests to stay, but the peasant and servant quarters are less than pleasant due to Lord Fiddler's beliefs that the peasants and servants should be grateful for having even a solid roof over their heads and food in their bellies.
There is a large barnyard area where all of the animals are kept, as well as the lucky servants that are placed to keep them in check.
But please don't think it a dismal place! Once the Lord dies, Young Lord "Andrew" intends to make the living conditions for the servants much more bearable and will treat them as if they are humans and not the scum of his boot.
