Putri had once more found herself stumbling around the pride without much thought as to where she was going or what she wanted to do once she got there, but that didn't bother in the least. In fact she seemed to enjoy the not knowing. Surprises were very much welcomed to this small cub. Her green eyes showed intensity as she walked, taking in everything she passed as she made her way through the soft sand that covered the beach. The sun was shining brightly above and light white fluffy clouds floated by occasionally. It certainly was a bright and beautiful day.
The small yellow cub with a black tribal design on her back stopped mid stride. Her eyes were now focused on a small cave that was situated towards the end of the beach. For some reason she had never been inside of it before though she had known it was there for quite some time. Today seemed like the perfect day to explore it. The cub ran as fast as she could towards it's entrance.
After several minutes Putri arrived at the mouth of the cave and she quickly turned her run into a slow walk as she went inside. "Wow!" She yelled into the cave as she ventured in. It seemed so big to her, even though in reality it was just a few inches larger than an adult lion. There was a pond of water on the left side of the cave that seemed to shimmer and glow in the small amount of light that was able to penetrate itself into the cave. Putri looked at it with a smile on her maw. At that moment it became her secret place.

Far back in the gave a loud grumble errupted, red eyelids begrudingly lifted to reveal two shocklingly bright blue eyes behind a shield of gold hair. A deep scratchy voice echoed, "Who goes there?" If it was his sister or worse, one of his fan-girls, he wasn't going to give up his spot without a fight. Akanni hoped the voice would throw whomever it was off, since it was only a tone he could achieve while groggy.
It didn't take long in the royal's life to discover that he was always surrounded by the younger girls of the pride staring and sighing over him. Once he got bigger, the sighing turned into heavy breathing and more staring. This cave was a place he found while trying to escape a mob of females just the previous week and it had since become his haven.
The young lion yawned, an echo of a loud roar escape with it into the cave and sounded like many. He smiled, if that didn't scare the lion he had not yet spotted, then perhaps he should be the one afraid. (yeah right)

Putri's head lifted at the loud sound of someone yelling further back in the cave. Her head tilted slightly to the side in curiosity. She was not in the least bit afraid but now she was certainly overwhelmed with curiosity as to who made such a sound. And why. With a small grin Putri hopped through the cave, towards the juve that had called out within the cave. Before she got close she heard a roar. Putri grinned a bit more now hastening every step she took. Poor Akanni had only intrigued the small cub.
When she finally reached the red juve she smiled and quietly padded over to him. "You don't look as scary as you sound." Putri said as she pushed her upper half down to the ground, forcing her nose to touch his. She smiled bumped his nose with her own and then flopped herself onto his back gently. Not like she could really hurt him anyways. "Maybe you should take lessons." Putri said as she pawed at his back with a light purring sound. Obviously this cub was not at all concerned with who he was or what he looked like. To her he was just another cub to play with.

It was a small, bright female, but she did not awe over him, he exhailed in relief. Instantly as their noses touched he shot up right and began chuckling once he thought about what she actually said. The juve didn't really have many friends, mostly he was too busy out running after birds.
"If there was a class to sounding scary, I would have already enrolled." His voice crumbled back down to it's normal tone, which was more high pitched than he'd like. He was constantly assured by his mother that it would drop as he got older, likely. Still chuckling he added, "Looking Scary 101, taught by Professor Tiny" he poked the cub.
"I'm Akanni, what's your name, little birdy?"

Putri smiled and batted gently at his ear. "You're right." She paused, then slid off of him and putting herself in front of him once more. "I'll teach you!" Putri tried to wink but it just ended up looking like a really poor attempt at blinking.
"My name's Putri! It's nice to meet you Akanni." She beamed before laying down and batting at her tail. "Why do you want to be scary?" The cub asked, noticing now that his voice had changed.

Akanni's ears tweaked a bit as he thought of an answer to her question. 'You're right' that would probably be a phrase he wouldn't hear from females very often.
"Well it's nice to meet you too! I want to sound scary so I don't have to fight off my adoring fans. There's older females that follow me around! Think I can give them something special. Pah." He thought he knew what this something special they wanted was, but he was wrong. To avoid more questions he asked one of his own.
"What're you doing out here anyway?" He laid down to be eye level with the yellow cub. "It wouldn't look very good for a royal to be harboring a run away cub now.." The accusation would be serious, but the words coming out of his maw sounded whimsical as if words to a song. Now the answer was clear, Akanni needed to sound scary because he was as soft as a feather.

The small cub didn't hide her confusion over this something special he mentioned but it wasn't of concern to her anyways. "You have fans?" She asked in awe. Once more she further proved she had no idea who he was which could have been to his benefit or not.
"I wanted to explore my home." She replied simply enough as if he should have known that all along. "What about you?" Putri asked before he began his next sentence which threw her for a loop. "Royal?" Putri tilted her head and let her ears flop a little. "Whose the royal?" Poor girl actually thought he might be talking about her. Which she of course knew to not be right. But the one before her couldn't be one... Right?

Perhaps he should allow her some delusion about her own birth right, often times he second guessed his own. But his blood would not allow him to keep the rouse alive for long, then looking into her eyes he felt it was like telling her there was no Sandy Paws or Toofless Faire.
"This cave is royal, that's why I like coming here and have to sound scary. To fend off the queen and her cubs if they come to escape the lushes of her cushions. Now you know about this part of your home, little birdie." Couldn't be too far off from the truth, after all wherever he went could be the royal something. Lying to her felt wrong, but surely she wouldn't even remember this encounter down the road in her life.

Putri couldn't stop herself from looking around the cave for a moment before returning her gaze to Akanni. "Will you get in trouble if the Queen decides to come in anyways?" She asked innocently. She had no idea she was being deceived, even if it was just a white lie. "Maybe if we roar really loud we can scare her off!" Putri grinned as if she had just made up the most brilliant plan ever. "Then Akanni won't get in trouble!" The yellow cub sat herself down in front of her red companion and wiggled her tail, doing exercises with her mouth and clearing her throat. Because it was totally possible that she could sound more scary than him.

"No no no!" He stood up quickly, looking around wildly. "I mean.. I think that we should stay quIET." His voice pitched. Damn puberty.. "I'm sure you would scare the entire pride into a frenzy I mean! They may think a monster crawled out of the ocean." He haunched his back and spread his paws out, making playful monster noises. And besides, who would want to scare off their mother?

Putri was a bit surprised by his voice suddenly making a weird sound. "Stay quiet?" She said in a questioning tone. "Whoa. I never thought of that!" Putri frowned, but soon replaced it with a smile at the monster noises Akanni was making. "Grrr..." She turned to face him, flicking her tail and getting down into an attack position.

She certainly was a spirited one. Akanni would do anything right now to keep her from drawing attention to his secret spot of serenity, surely if he told her what this spot truly was she would try to return. Now how was he going to get her out of there without being seen? As his wheels spun and gears cranked, trying to produce an answer he melted into the playfulness, his own cubby behavior coming to the surface.
"Lets see what you got, look like a birdie sting like a bee?" He put his tail up in the air and bounced from side to side to give the cub a moving target to pounce on.
