Project Legion
It all began with a single mistake, a single failure at a super secret lab dedicated to creating the perfect American super soldier. What they got instead of a soldier was a monster. Their experiments lead them to the creation of a strange virus that could only be spread by a simple bite. Their monster felt no pain and was driven by one thing, a drive to spread its virus to others. If only they could have restored its consciousness they would have had the perfect soldier. The scientists were thrilled with their discovery and locked it away in the deepest cell in their underground lab for further testing. What they didn’t count on was their monster getting out of its cell. Once that happened it couldn’t be stopped and the lab was destroyed, the scientists turned into the very creature they had created. The poor creature they had created was Patient Zero for the disaster to follow.
Story
Five years have passed since the Zombies decimated the population of the U.S.A. The cities now lay in ruins, the land having reclaimed them, and the living dead wander the streets. Those few who are still alive hide in groups in the best places they can find to defend, only venturing out to scavenge for supplies when they are running low. This is how you live, a survivor in a land torn to shreds by monsters that should not exist. There is rumor that there is a cure back in the lab where it all began but are you willing to risk your life and travel across the destroyed country during winter to find this fabled cure in a lab that might no longer exist?

Name: Alyx(Zero) Thorne Gender: female Age: 20 Personality: quiet, cold, harsh, calm, determined, ruthless when she needs to be Appearance:  Weapon: the gun in the pic and an elegant katana Additional Skills: master with her sword, other skills unknown even to her. Theme Song: The Infected by Four Year Strong Story: Alyx was found outside of a safe house, surrounded by Zombies. She was defending herself quite well but was outnumbered. When first asked she said that her name was Zero before collapsing from exhaustion. Later she claimed that her name was Alyx but the nickname stuck. She never speaks of how she ended up at the safe house or what she was doing out in the city alone. She refuses to talk of her past as well though she seems to know very little of the world and everything in it. She knows nothing about the gadgets from before the Zombies destroyed the U.S.A. and wonders at everything placed before her. She is the one that brought the conformation that there really is a cure.

Name: Ace Knight Gender: Male Age: 21 Personality: Quiet, intelligent, keeps to himself. Appearance:  Weapon: His weapon of choice is a bolt action rifle with a scope, but he can do well with any rifle. He is also okay with pistols. Additional Skills: He knows about a bit about most machine and technology. He is quick on his feet and is a quick thinker. Theme Song: Not Ready To Die by Avenged Sevenfold Story: He moved around a lot before he found the small group of survivors. One day he saw a group of people slowly getting overwhelmed by the undead, he was up on top of a building and had a good line of sight and fired onto the undead dropping one with each bullet he fired. After that the people asked him to join there little town. They put him up on the wall most of the time, because he is one of the best shots with a rifle.

Alyx was longing on a couch in the safe house, waiting for the group of survivors to decide on their plan of action. She was bored and it was every survivor in the room to figure out if they should go after the cure she said existed. There was no one left guarding the edges of the city at the time, everyone had to vote on this. The entire thing was pointless to Alyx though and they all ignored her. She pratically lived in the main safe house in the small town ever since they found her. She was still recovering from her wounds from that day and was lucky that she hadn't been bitten though it wouldn't have even affected her if she had. She yawned and was pondering sneaking out of the house to wander the streets since everyone that would even catch her was in the house.

Ace stood in the corner of the room, listening to the people argue about what to do. He didn't care about the argument, he knew what should be done. He cleared his throat loudly, catching everybody's attention. He told them loudly so all could hear him "I don't know about the rest of you, but I think we should try for the cure. Not all of us would have to go, some could stay here. I am going back to the wall." He moved towards the door to retake his place up on the wall, his rifle hanging on his shoulder.

Alyx saw one person leaving and got up. "Zero agrees with him," she said, speaking as she always did when they were al around. They thought she was retarded and she let them think that by speaking plainly. She wasn't going to let them know the truth about her. "Cure is very important and Zero will go search for it even vote is no. Zero knows where it is and can lead the way."

Ace stopped at the door and turned to face the crowd. "Can you?" he asked the girl who spoke. He wasn't sure what her name was although she referred to herself as Zero, all he knew was she was brought in not to long ago.

"Zero knows," Alyx said. "Zero saw." She smiled as if she was a bit touched in the head just for affect. She didn't know who had spoken but she didn't care. The others finally all agreed that it would be best to search for the cure and she heard the man's name be said as on of the party names along with her nickname. There were three other names but she didn't listen to them.

"Alright, who all is going? We only need a few, me and her makes two, so who else will come along?" Ace asked the crowd of people, he knew that few wanted to risk their lives for a cure. He didn't have high hopes about who would want to leave the safety of the town to hunt down a cure.

Alyx heard a name she recognized, the name of the man that had saved her; Kurt Archer. She heard that also a medic named Cleo was going and another guy named Ivan. 'Of course the guys outnumber the girls,' she though as the other three stepped foward from the group. 'Guys think they're better than girls but I will show them.' Alyx felt herself growing weak so she sat down quickly to avoid collapsing infront of everyone. She couldn't afford for them to see her as weak.

Ace nodded his head at the men that steped forward. After a moment longer he said "Alright listen up... Get some supplies ready and get some rest, we will leave first light tomorrow." "About how long will it take us to get there?" He asked turning his attention towards the girl that was once again sitting on the couch.

Alyx shrugged. "On other side of the country," she said. "Zero traveled long to get here yes she did. Zero fought many creatures. Project Legion, secret lab on west coast. Zero remembers, she remembers it all."

Ace rubbed his chin and thought a moment before saying "Make sure we have enough supplies for a few days also make sure there is an atlas in there." He looked around and saw people moving about. He pulled the rifle off his shoulder and checked the magazine. He then found a chair in the corner to sit in as the others set about making things ready for tomorrow.

Alyx closed her eyes and ignored the rest of the people scuttling around like bugs as they tried to get them things for their trip. "Man, I don't think I can manage the trip," she muttered under her breath so no one would hear. She really was still very week but she needed to lead them and show them she wasn't what she seemed to be. 'I just don't want to go back there,' she thought wearily. 'I don't want to go back to the place I woke.'

Ace pulled a table over to him and sat his rifle on the table and began to take it apart so he could clean it. He said nothing more to the people moving about, which he was fine with. As he finished cleaning his rifle he pulled out his pistol and cleaned it up as well. Five people going across the country for a cure...Will the zombies eat us or will we do that to ourselves? He stayed in the corner and leaned back in the chair as most of the people left the room.
