The night was fairly young as the sun had slipped below the distant hills, the land slowly ebbing into nightfall, a time where the Hybrid found it a wonderful time to stroll. Accompanied with his small companions the fireflies, it usually wasn't the only thing to accompany him on nights like this; as even more fireflies came to dance with his own leaving a stream of light trailing behind him.

It wasn't that he enjoyed particularly being alone, no that was far from it. The night was his mistress, the one who soothed the wanderer in his travels and it was where he felt most at peace under the romantic's dream of being bathed in moonlight. His little insect friends didn't enjoy the daylight; so he was sold with being nocturnal.

Which obviously didn't help his situation being a plethora of rainbow colours to the eyes of predators; but he managed. It was a life lesson not to try and woo a skin walker though; they didn't like Casanova's very much.

And so, there he continued on his stroll, his hair flowing along with the end and his little friends dancing and darting pas his vision; his smooth and velvet vocals calling out to them in a chuckling manner.

"You sure are enjoying yourself tonight, aren't you dear friends?"

Friends...Rhys couldn't recall ever really finding any of his own species to make and acquaintance with...too busy with the romance aspect of company to often think of making bonds with soquili who were platonic. Platonic, that word was almost left a foul taste on his tongue despite it being part of his thought process...why be with someone you can't love? Not even that fling for pleasure, Rhys never pursued anyone he didn't love in some way or another...but at the same time; he loved a lot...numerously.

Monogamy wasn't something he was familliar with either; although he did admire those who found that special someone...and perhaps a small part of him wondered often if he too had one special someone who completed and complimented him in his entirety.

"Wishful thinking though, eh my friends?" The fireflies glittered in delight, which the group seemed to laugh together in their private conversation.

Ah, this was life.

The flutter picked her way quietly through the grasses of the Kawani. Night had fallen with stars glittering gently above, and the glow of the moon illuminating the landscape surrounding her. It was a gorgeous night, with a warm breeze signaling that spring was well upon the land, and a promise of warm days ahead.

Thank goodness!

While there were certain benefits of the winter months - snuggling in close with another, finding companionship to help while away the doldrums days and, of course, to keep warm -- it was still her least favorite time of the year. Not only were the sweet flowers that she enjoyed sipping up long dead, leaving her cravings for their nectar unsatisfied for months at a time; but her beautiful, rainbow wings were terribly delicate, and did not do well in the cold. While Ilithyia could enjoy the beauty of snow and a winter wonderland, she much preferred the freedom spring, summer, and autumn offered her instead.

Stepping delicately through the grasses, the mare believed that this night was as close to perfect. The only thing that might make it better was company, a little someone she could compliment and fuss over, someone she could attempt to woo. A great lover of love, Ilithyia didn't discriminate. She could find beauty in all she passed, and was not at all shy about letting others know her thoughts.

Some called her a silly mare or a fool, but the flutter didn't heed their thoughts. She was happy, and while she knew she wasn't the smartest soquili out there, or the most beautiful, she did know how to love. And that was what she would give the world.

Thankfully for Ilithyia, the spirits heard her silent yearning. For cresting over the smallest of hills, a voice carried on the wind. It was quiet, and while she didn't make out the words, she was alerted to another's presence. It wasn't difficult to see the figure, drifting over the plans, circled by what looked like the smallest glow of fireflies. His colourful coat made him easy to spot.

Well, well, well! Perhaps she wouldn't be spending the evening alone. Never terribly concerned about the overall amicable nature of strangers, the pale haired mare made her way over the hill, attempting to bridge the distance between herself and the stranger. She slowed to a trot as he got closer, not wanting to crowd him and certainly needing to test the waters, see if he even wanted a spot of company.

Small smile upon her features, she called out to him, breaking the quiet of the night. "Salutations, stranger."

Although Rhys was enamored by the beauty of the evening as it was simply too perfect for him not to pay appreciation for such a fate given eve, his companions were not of the same mindset as they realized someone was closing in. Picking up the pace of their flying they swooshed and twirled, trying to make him turn his head before he could potentially need to flee for his very life.

It didn't take long, that the glittering light in his peripherals had him wonder what all the fuss about was; although as he turned his head the meaning wasn't exactly relayed as intended to the Casanova stallion.

Instead what he happened to see was an approaching figure, some into view with the fireflies dancing around only to illuminate her beauty in his eyes; his body reduced to a frozen state mid step as he tried to relay the absolutely perfect view capture with what was actually going on.

Needless to say there were a few quiet moments before his mind triggered reaction.

"Good Evening, Miss; although lets not be strangers shall we?" Turning in mid step he buckled at his forlegs and dipped his torso into a elegant bow, his nose between his knees. "My name is Rhys; a nomad of love wandering this beautiful eve..."

Although, he admitted in his mind; not nearly as breathtaking as this mare who happened upon him. The way her wings held the same bright and colourful disposition as his own was something of fate - he would go as far to say. He took from speculation she was a flutter, but a muttle of breeds like he was; and for that he already appreciated her so much more...it wasn't often in this day and age he saw someone pure and although he had love for everyone..there was something special to say about purebreds.

Rising up from his bow he tossed his long pesky locks from his face; darn them for being in his way of such a beautiful sight!

"I am surprised though, I have not seen many flutters who dwell in the night; for they look most beautiful in the sun. I beg to differ though; the moonlight plays on your wings like diamonds." He grinned lightly, tilting his head to get just a little better of a peek at them through her cream hued locks.

While Ilithyia was quite certain that she would be able to coerce the stranger in to at least a little conversation, it surprised her to see him turn and stare. Rather, it wasn't the stare that caused her surprise (she was beautiful, thank you) it was the fact that he suddenly dipped his head in to a bow!

A legitimate, actual bow. Oh, Ilithyia had come across the occasional knight, as well as the good-hearted and good humored soul, but so rarely did those gentleman actually possess such gallantry! To be bowed before, as if she were some princess , well . . . it was absolutely adorable. And purely fuel to her own flame of flirtation.

The spirits were being kind tonight, and giving her such . .. well. . . .easy prey! Still, the pale haired mare wasn't about to dismiss him, or even chuckle at his behavior. It was refreshing, mostly because he seemed to legitimately believe every word he spoke. The greatest thing about this night was that not only was he sweet, but his words! Did he really claim to be the nomad of love?

Adorable. . . . and hilarious.

Still, Ilithyia could play the role he wished her to. She was a flirt, and always enjoyed a good time. So to meet one who also appeared to be a lover of love, this only worked right in to her hooves. "Let's not be strangers," she agreed with a delicate dip all her own. As she rose, she gave a small flick of her head, allowing most of her mane to flip to one side, giving him better exposure of her neck.

. . . what?

If he was going to gape at her, she'd at least be polite and give him a little bit of a show. Besides, Ilythia herself liked to be admired, to be the center of attention. Perhaps it's why she never lingered in one place (or with one soquili) for long. . . She enjoyed the thrill of the chase, and of course, the thrill of being something new, something beautiful, something to be admired. She didn't ever want another to find her boring, dull, or . . . mundane.

"While I do enjoy the beauty of the daylight," she agreed with a smile, "I do enjoy the mystery of night. The daytime, I must admit, can be quite over rated." Even as she spoke, she allowed her delicate wings to spread briefly, as if she were sunning them. Just enough so he could get a better look at their rainbow touched beauty in the moonlight. "And what brings you out here, alone. . . . save for your glowing companions." She gave a nod in the direction of the fireflies, not wanting to appear rude for disregarding them.

"I am absolutely enthralled we share such a connection with but a few sweet words between us; such a delight to be blessed with coming across someone of kindred spirit." Rhys said, honestly flowing in each smooth and calm word from his own lips. It wasn't an understatement by any means what he meant what he said and said what he meant. The boy was in love with love; and everything that had to do with love. He wasn't sure the origin of such behavior; his mother raised him till an appropriate age as his Kirin father wasn't around. The doe was kind; but not by any means in the same disposition as her son; neither his father.

It was almost as if he'd been struck by cupid's arrow and it never quite dislodged.

Never the less with his rose eyes seeing like a permanent pair of rose hued glasses, he neither shyly or shamefully gazed upon her; drawing in each detail which he found more and more to like about he mare like an artist to his subject.

Every small motion as if she was performing ballet for him and him alone; the (not so) subtle flick of her hair, the spread of her delicate wings....perfect. Already he could feel his heart fluttering, is this why this breed of soquili were named such?

"There is no shame in trying something different, it would simply be a dull grey world if we had no spice, no excitement, no individuality..." He urged, excited to speak more with the mare as he took a few steps before as he moved into a slow trot; circling her with a faint grin. "It is simple though, I would be alone otherwise if I didn't come out in the evening. My friends although beautiful have no chance against the sun; so it is in the pale glow of the eve where their beauty and grace can be admired and appreciated. In the day I keep them save while they regain their energy for another eve of dance and life in these woods."

Nodding his head at the fireflies as they followed him in a trail of sparkles, they took the cue to turn and dance around Ilithiya's frame; fluttering around her back to make the illusion her wings were actually making prisms of rainbows like a diamond in the sun. Eventually Rhys came to a stop right infront of her, smiling genuinely as the fireflies slowly returned to his side; a few resting along the scales of his back.

"I couldn't imagine not spending my days in mundane without having beauty surround me...luckily though it always seems to find me day or night..." He winked, his expression playful.

The mare kept her coy expression, her eyes following the pink stallions every move. Now that they were close, she was better able to give him an obvious look over. He was a most peculiar breed, looking a bit like a cerynei, and a bit like a kirin all rolled in to one. His coat was the brightest shade of pink she'd ever seen, and yet his mane and legs were touched with rainbow. . . . . And were those . . . hearts?

The mare was absolutely delighted by this turn of events. She herself sported a rainbow heart upon her left foreleg. It was a bit strange, considering the rest of her was natural in color, but . . . standing before this rainbow pelted stallion, she could only see their similarities. Lovers of love . . . Well, maybe, just maybe, tonight would be the easiest seduction ever if she played her cards right!

Some might claim her easy, some might claim her a whore, but Ilithyia thought little of those claims. What was so wrong with giving physical affection to another? Of taking comfort in their closeness, of getting to know them and sharing some time together? She found absolute beauty in the world and could find so many things in a stranger to love or adore . . . . There was no ugliness in her world.

Perhaps she was a fool, but there was no harm in having a little fun. Right?

As the fireflies danced around her, Ilithyia couldn't help but dip her head, perhaps a bit shyly, even as her smile grew in pleasure. She admired the dance of the small creatures, cooing ever so softly as the glittered against the shadows of night. "They really are a beautiful addition to the night," she complimented, craning her neck to focus once more on the circling stallion. Thankfully, he had finished his inspection -- one she hoped he found favorable -- and let her amber eyes settle upon him more comfortably.

"Beauty can be found everywhere, you know. One only needs to know where to look." Taking a few steps forward, bridging some of the distance between them, she was careful not to distrub the small lightening bugs dancing around them. "At least you're granted a boon by the spirits; your fireflies make play companions, and certainly help highlight the beauty of the world. So tell me, Rhys the wanderer, has beauty met you this evening? Or shall we seek it out together? I do know a few places we could look. . . " Her words were innocent enough, waiting to see what he might say. She wasn't actually seeking out a compliment, though the bait had been set. Ilithyia KNEW she was gorgeous, she didn't need someone to affirm such a thing.

"They are..." Rhys smiled to his little companions, the small insects which did not judge, or otherwise get jealous when he found his attention to be elsewhere. The stallion had a companion once or twice, ones which well, jealousy was too easy a seductress for their emotions. He couldn't help that he was a Casanova soul, and since then found it better to be himself and worry about friendship and the sorts lastly. It was why he and the fireflies worked so well together, they sought nothing in that nature of him; and often found delight when he met with a suitor.

"Quite, yet for some, we have our favorites..." He trailed, looking into her eyes with a calm and savvy expression; leaning his face forward to touch his nose against her playfully. "I'd say we're acquainted, don't you belle?" He mused, his tone soft like the velvet dark hues of the sky with effortless transition. "If you dare say there is even more beauty than what stands before me, then I near beg of you to show me; and prove me somewhat wrong."

Rhys did not want to leave her, not yet anyways. Even so, he had this sinking feeling in a good way that this meeting would not be the last between him and the flutter beauty.

"Besides, the night is young and dare I say, there are not many who can best me in staying till the beautiful and entrancing sunrise. Would you be interested in trying such a feat, my darling?" The stallion flashed a smile, the fireflies glittering in an almost giggling mischief in the way they danced about around them.

Taking a few steps away from her, he half turned his body to face off into the night. Warm and gentle breezes occasionally swaying the grass ahead of them and it was out there that adventure was to be found...perhaps not normal perception; but a dance of beauty, fun and perhaps heart swaying emotions ahead. He was familliar with the means of love and lust...and for him they were one in the same. Like he, to him it seemed she was the same, love wasn't blind and he was more than welcoming to feel the warmth of affection and rush of flirting.

After all, she wouldn't still be around if she too didn't understand the type of stallion he was and be accepting of it.
