Electronic impact detonated fin stabilized rounds. Using as small a device as possible, they still only sport roughly 15 grams of high penetration shaped charge RDX and enough fragmentation and explosive around the edges to cause an effective kill and causality radius of roughly 5 meters. The stainless steel round has an effective range of roughly 200 meters, although it's difficult to aim past that. The fin stabilized round are capable of being used with smoothbore barrels although this barrel is polygonal. Unlike the 12 gauge version, this rounds has the potential to be much more powerful, much of the mechanism being replaced- still, it is less powerful than a 40mm grenade with theoretically less range, but is a strong substitute for a slug, as it is explosive- they are rather poor in close quarters combat however, due to their explosive and fragmentation range, making them mostly suited for armor piercing applications or specialist interactions- these rounds can penetrate about 1.25 inches of steel, with a 21mm hole.
Sabot
The sabot rounds are roughly 46 grams, with a fin stabilized capacity, although the barrel has rifling. These rounds have a somewhat farther range than the typical shot, as they have a somewhat higher velocity and don't break up in float. They get around 3-4 MOA and are intended for relativley close range combat, but with more immediate stopping or punching power.
Bird Shot
The bird shot contains around 56 1 gram pellets roughly equating to large birdshot. Made predominantly out of depleted uranium, these shots have a golfball like surface, which makes them substantially more aerodynamic in flight. Due to their high density and aerodynamic profile, they have a much longer range than typical birdshot, although they are more or less a combat shotgun so their relevance is minor (and as well it carries far less and bigger shot).
Still, for spread shots the shot is relativley efficient. Effective out to 50 yards, the rounds possess the capacity to penetrate about as much as a 9mm with around the effect of a .22. With the combined effort, the rounds will deliver relativley devastating combined energy, and can penetrate much deeper than typical "birdshot".
Still, it can produce rather shallow wounds, depending on the target.
Buckshot
The buck shot contains around 15 3.75 gram pellet in a 3.5 inch shell, and accelerates these to over 380 m/s. Made predominantly out of depleted uranium (with a little bit of lead), these shots have a golfball like surface, which makes them substantially more aerodynamic in flight. Due to their high density and aerodynamic profile, they have a much longer range than typical buckshot, although they are more or less a combat shotgun so their relevance is minor (and as well it carries far less and bigger shot).
The rounds are intended for deeper penetration and bigger wounds than birdshot, but is still more spread out than a slug. The relativley large rounds are intended to inflict a substantial amount of damage to targets at a considerable range, and is effective out to 50 meters, with a maximum effective range of about 100 meters. While theoretically it has a longer range than this is it rare aim for targets much further out.
Like all buckshot, it is intended to do a considerable amount of damage to large targets, and it's high density, higher power and aerodynamic shape make it far more effective at this job than a typical 12 gauge.
