Secrets makes her way toward one of her favorite places in the swamp -- it's a quiet place, set away from some of the more popular trails used by kin to travel by. Despite the difficulty of getting to it, however, the doe finds it well worth the effort. Surrounded by tall cypress a clear spring waits, catching the afternoon sun. It's surface glistens like a jewel, and a tiny small pulls at the otherwise stern and serious doe's mouth as she spots it. The only sound is the soft, wispy noise of Liar's wings and the twittering of nearby birds. After a few moments, Secrets slips into the cool water with a sigh and closes her eyes. Peace and quiet, at last.

The snake was making his way to the water, mainly to get out of the heat and away from his matching companion. He slithered his way to the bank, just letting the water lap over his back, when a doe catches his attention. Keeping an eye on her, Joke waited to make sure he was safe from her hooves. Solemn was some distance behind the snake. There was no rush to get any where today, not when plots were in the making. A shame really when his twin was not near and plans needed to be made, with a little help. Shrugging the buck went on a different path, finding hoof prints in some areas. Smiling, he follows them as best he can and finds a surprise of clear water.

Secrets has never been a very excitable doe. Not easily phased by much (though she has her buttons like anyone else) she pays the orange and cream colored snake little mind once she determines it's nothing more but a simply water snake. It's the poisonous ones she's concerned about -- but seeing as there don't seem to be any nearby, she continues a little deeper into the water.

Seeing that the doe was going to enjoy the water herself, Joke found a small rock to rest his head while soaking in the sun and water. It was nice for once, not being used for whatever Solemn had planned. Just as he was falling a sleep, the buck moved into his sight. The orange buck didn't pay attention to the snake, though he noticed him.
Solemn looked around, trying to stay hidden as his coat was not so swamp friendly. The doe looked relaxed and enjoying herself, but that could change. A glance towards the opposite direction she is facing, Solemn finds a decent spot to enter, without being seen. His smile grew as a plan formulated. He started on his path towards the area, stepping as softly as he could.

With her eyes closed, Secrets doesn't see the very orange buck slip into the water. But her sharp ears do register a faint splash.
She cracks one eye open, and sees nothing. A turtle, perhaps, she thinks to herself, and settles into the soft mud of the shallow end of the water. Only Liar seems a bit agitated, but that she attributes to the watersnake's presence-- and unlike the snake, her moth can fly, and so she pays it no more mind.

He stopped when his hooves made the small splash, waiting to see what the doe will do. As she settled back into the mud, Solemn dragged his hooves along the bottom so not to splash again. This would be tedious if he wanted it to work. The water started getting deeper and he started to swim, with just his head and rump above the water. Making sure to stay in the deeper part, the orange buck moved his way towards the doe. His legs moved slowly under the water, keeping him afloat and steady.

After a moment, Secrets shifts in the water once more and edges into the deeper end. Her back is to the buck approaching, so she does not see him as he gets closer. Before long, she's humming a faint tune to herself, wordlessly, as she ducks under the water long enough to rinse her hair of the dust that tends to collect after awhile.
