A pained grunt. That was the only sound that registered in the stillness that surrounded the stallion. He'd managed to run into yet another obstacle on the path he traversed. The flare of pain diminished minutely with the touch of the horn that he'd been born with. His expressive gaze turned on the object that he had walked into before he kicked out his back legs. The branch went sailing into the air and disappeared from sight. Satisfied the stallion pressed onwards. He had no earthly reason to be traveling at night; it was just his preference to do so.
Cosmic Eternity. The name suited him well. He had fashioned a new name for himself after the incident that had changed him forever. No one knew of the change from his old life. He'd left as soon as he could and began putting distance between himself and the emotional pain that clung to his body like a second skin. He would never speak of it; he had vowed that much to himself during lonely days on the road. Everyone he came across gave up on communicating with him after discovering that he would not use his voice to answer. So for the time being it was safer to travel alone and in the dark of night. He blended in so well in the darkness. Only the marking on his rump gave away his position it seemed.
