After Shehk's outburst in the dorm room the little chupacabra decided that it would be best to just leave the area and get a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere had turned sour and left her wanting to get out and have a chance to clear her mind.
Her obvious destination was the library, a place full of tomes and knowledge all ready to be devoured. The monster liked reading, she didn't know if she'd be allowed to actually read any of the books (or if she could know the language), so it was a good choice. Pausing at the entrance she lingered for a moment or two, wondering if Shehk would indeed be joining her.

The fresh warm air was nice. But she needed to go somewhere quiet, somewhere that maybe wouldn't be filled with other people...and maybe somewhere where if those idiots followed after her, she could duck behind a shelf of books and then labyrinth her way out.
However, it actually seemed to surprise her as she walked up the steps to the library that Chuppi seemed to have known exactly where it was she was heading, ears perking up a bit as she silently approached the ghoul.
"So you left after my outburst too, huh?"

Chuppi's quills and her ears perked up as Shehk approached, an uneasy and shy smile spreading across the little monster's face. It looked as though her hopes had paid off, the older ghoul had indeed decided to come here, and the chupacbara waddled over to her companion's side and nodded her head. "I tell secrets too easily, is how the hunter in the trial-dream taught me. I spilled secrets to them and so after you left, I was - " It was hard for her to talk, her words kept getting mixed up in her head. She slowed herself down, trying again. "Without you there to keep my quiet, I would ruin for all of us."
It did her no credit to admit her shortcomings but it was something she desperately was trying to work over. She would not and could not be the weak link anymore, not if she wished her friends to be able to count on her. "Are you okay now, Shehk?"

Shehk frowned. "I think I should be more willing to help them, and yet...I can't hep but feel this distrust to all of those who don't come from Amityville now. It's like..they're some wave of people who don't understand how it is to truly learn something." To learn it through blood, swear and tears, that was.
"I'll be better after some time away and perhaps when I get back to the dorms later for those two ghouls to not be there. Just hole up in my room and text Jericho." Because he was good to take her mind off of things. Soothing in that way.
Maybe that's why she liked talking to him so much. Yeah, he was just right for that.
"It's hard to not want to share things, though. I understand that. I'd hate for you to become as bitter to outsiders as I just proved I can be."

"Do not worry, I will never hate others and I am unable to properly mistrust. If perhaps just in my nature?" A nervous chuckle escaped her lips and she rubbed at the side of her face, her eyes uneasy and looking at the ground. "I...was not there for Professor Red so I could be considered an outsider too, but I have died at the hands of a hunter. I am thinking they are using ignorance as an excuse, but I can pity them for that." Pity was a strange word for her to use, perhaps she really was indeed growing as a person. Pity, ignorance - all had been things she would have never thought about before.
"Jericho? Oh, I know of him. Are you two good friends?" Shehk's face seemed to lighten up at mention of him and so Chuppi pressed his name, hoping it would set her friend more at ease. She was curious enough about him, she knew him from lessons together and he had always been kind to her, so there was no harm in talking of him and thinking kind thoughts. "He has always been good to me, I like him."

"Mmm, I thought I'd be that way too, but...." she'd snapped after months of pent up frustration. It felt good to get that off of her chest, and yet it made her feel bad to think it would be a long time before she'd trust someone from outside of the school.
She'd likely end up marrying someone from inside of Amityville with her trust issues.
"It's good to be willing to forgive. Maybe if I spend enough time with you I will be able to leech some of that from you." Shehk joked, smiling. "Do not feel bad for not being there for Red. It was what happened after that made me angry. What the newspapers said. How she was slandered. How we were all called liars because of the 'mythical' hunters...."
Talking about Jericho seemed to brighten her right up, though. "He is a good guy. I like him a lot." There was definitely a lot to her 'a lot' based on the grin on her face. "He's fun to spend time with and he's very attentive too. Just... overall a good guy." Fondness abound.
"We're...kind of experimental dating, so... I guess I might be a bit over the top about his greatness at times though." Or she might have been spot on in her honesty.

"Oh! You two are mates then? I am very happy for you!" Chuppi moved forward and took Shehk's hands, her honesty and happiness for her friend's word overly apparent. "It is good to have a mate, but what is experimental? Testing?" She didn't know the word, or at least didn't know the English for it, so she tasted it on her tongue before offering something similar.
She motioned towards the library, maybe they had tables they could sit at. "Come let us go inside and we can sit and talk more?"

"Oh goodness, it isn't quite that!" Shehk corrected, but still Chuppi seemed to be happy to hear Shehk was in some sort of..relationship. She wouldn't have called Jericho her mate, though. Just.. o-oh dear.
"I think the best way to explain what I have with Jericho is that we're testing to see if we think we're compatible or not." Shehk had already given her opinion on the matter, so it was really time to see if Jericho thought so too. Which was why it was testing.
Sigh. She moved to one of the tables that were set out in the wide open space, sitting down as she looked up towards the ceiling and the almost..creepy moulding it had illustrated along the edges, her nose crinkling a bit. The Horsemen sure were strange.

"Not like that? Oh, oh...let me explain to you our meaning. My kind, the chupacabra, we do not have that word for...um...boyfriend? Girlfriend? What is it...couple? Yes, couple." There, she was proud she knew that word. "Everyone is as a mate, even if not a full mate just yet. I will try to use your words though if needed?" She wanted Shehk to think that Chuppi was really trying and so the little monster promised to use more of the words that people of Halloween used, not just her own kind.
The pair moved inside at her suggestion, Chuppi pleased over that, and it took some effort to climb into a chair and get settled. It had a back, which meant she had to sit sideways, and her legs jutted over the edge and swung above the ground. She was a year older, soon to be two years older, but had not grown an inch in height. an inch in width however had graced her many a time. "You know, I had been brave once and told Tybalt I was the liking of him. It...did not end with us as a couple." A random sentence, but then again it had been a long time since Chuppi had spoken with Shehk and she wasn't to try and keep the older ghoul's mind off the situation that had happened in the dorms.

"Ahhh! Okay. I see. I understand. Yes, we are undergoing a courtship, but we are not mates in the sense of the word as my kind would call it. However, do not worry too much about fussing over the choice in wording. I will understand from that explanation." she was quick to understand. Though it had been a lot more awkward when another canine had been referring to Jericho as her mate.
Even before they were dating.
Or there were feels.
Man, they were complicated.
"I'm sorry that telling Tybalt of your feelings did not work out for you, Chuppi." Shehk frowned a bit. "To be honest, I didn't expect to tell Jericho anything. I like it better when I don't say anything. But it happened and I told him without intending to and...he didn't know how to answer. So we are not quite a couple, really." It was a nice distraction, though. Plus he was super fun to be around. All nice and helpful and protective. Happiness <3.
"However, I think we will find you a nice boil yet, hmm?"

"You think there is a chance of someone for me? I am not pretty like you, nor am tall or thin. Boils do not like chubby ghouls, I have seen how they watch the ones with large teats and thin waists." She patted her stomach but her face didn't look sad, there wasn't any want of pity in her words or actions. She knew what she was and, thanks to Tybalt's reject and time, she was comfortable in her skin. Should she one day find a mate would make her happy but for now she liked seeing her friends with theirs. Their happiness was hers, in a manner of speaking.
Except for when they were overly affectionate around her and she felt like a horrible third wheel. Which was often.
"None the less for you both I am praying for your happiness. You deserve a good mate." Hadn't Shehk been with someone before, with that skinwalker? It would be a bad move to bring it up so she kept her mouth closed on that subject. Past was past, even someone like her knew that. "Also, um..what do you think of this place? Is so huge, being small makes it hard to get places."

"You know what else being pretty will get you? Boils who will only chase after you because they like a big rack with a thin waist. While I am fortunate to be pleasant on the eyes, it is not what I want from any boil who would pursue me." Or what she would pursue in a guy. "I certainly am not pursuing Jericho because he is..is.." it was like she'd suddenly been struck with the realization that Jericho was attractive and she hadn't realized it fully before. She'd known, yes, and she'd even told him he'd make some lucky ghoul happy with it, and yet...
Huh.
"It's much nicer, I think, when you find something that is nice on an emotional and psychological level. At least for me. The first chased after me and I am better without it.
You are a lovely ghoul and there will be a nice boil who will see that despite whatever flaws you believe you have, Chuppi." she smiled thoughtfully. She might have been mentally matchmaking her. Maybe.
At the inquiry about the interior of the library, Shehk looked up and around it again. "Yes, it is quite large. I imagine there are quite some interesting books here. Maybe I should browse over them to see if any of them share the information I would wish to have..." she brushed her fingers over her chin thoughtfully.
"Maybe."

"I will trust your judgement Shehk, because you know best. You are smart and pretty." Chuppi's words were not hollow, she meant each words a compliment with all of her heart, and she smiled as she pushed off the chair and waddled over to a book. She lifted it in her hands and returned to the table, pulling the spine to her eyes and reading over the label. "1999? Is this a title of it or a book numbering?"
She raised the book over for Shehk to look at it before she peered at the cover - the number was there too - and she flipped it open. Instead of words there were graphs, glyph types of all shapes. Things she had never seen before yet was not afraid of like she should have been. "I am wondering, these are what?"

"I say it from experience, dearheart." Shehk insisted with a small smile, and as Chuppi went up to go fetch a book, Shehk looked around, noting an academic seeming young Horsemen going through a series of books and hoarding some in his arms. However, they didn't seem very interesting to her.
She looked back to Chuppi when she returned, looking at the book she set out on the table curiously before she leaned over to look at the contents of it, ears perking up curiously as she looked it over. Hmmm.....
"I have no idea. It looks interesting though... wait.. wait wait wait." Shehk waved a hand. "What were those numbers on the front?"

"Hmm? It is of...1999. I think if at this time I would have barely been a pup, maybe two years? This is more than twelve years ago, perhaps thirteen? If we refer to the entire year?" She looked down at her hand and folded her four fingers three times, taking in a count properly. Yes, she would have been only two and - what was that in the corner? She looked inside the book and reached for something, pulling out a weird little token. Huh, time to move along. "Is the date important to you, does it make something remember?"
