General setting: General Setting: It is absolutely silent inside the Temple of Guidance. It is a very large, domed expanse, and you note that quite a bit of attention to detail and architecture has been put into creating this temple. There is noone in the temple, the incense pyre normally burning in the center is quiet.

From what she could see so far, the four Isles had one thing in common. They all liked casting themselves into statues for commemoration. She understood the custom, she agreed with it, but it wasn't necessarily something she saw in all cultures. Her own culture never made statues of their own kind - they preferred to remain unseen, and in the shadow. She, however, would have a statue of herself one day. She could feel it.

This statue was holding a rather interesting flat stone. Riley instantly recognized the symbol on it, from her visit with Invictus. Spirals, even inverted ones, were not common symbols for anything she could recall. Unity, war, destruction, challenge - no, she'd never seen a spiral used for those. A spiral could be used for a labyrinth, or some kind of vague reference to a neverending path. Still, even then it would usually be a circle, since spirals do eventually end.

Perhaps an ending was intended, in this symbol.

Riley puzzled on the symbol for a few more moments, barely distracted by a glint that turned out to be another token of currency, before moving on.

A stroll around the temple found one of the prettier spots that the isle offered, as a row of candles flickered, lit all around the edges of the temple. It cast a mournful shadow on the walls, but the lights themselves were beautiful, in their own hallowed sort of way.

As she walked, she remained silent, as if the candles demanded her reverence, and she was willing to comply. Something other than the flicker of candles caught her attention, and she bent to pick up two tokens on the floor between two candles, holding them up to her eyes for a moment.

Edel had mentioned that spiral. The currency used it as well. As Riley stared at the symbol, she felt as though she were sinking into the - portals.

Spirals were sometimes used as symbols of portals.

She pocketed the little tokens, and headed back into the temple.

Riley moved in to the temple again, walking along the sides. She stopped at a book on a pedestal, and her hands brushed along the words. The Guidance of Death, it said. She opened it up to where it was bookmarked, and sure enough, there was a slab of stone with the spiral shape etched on it as well. And beside it, another one of those tokens, which she picked up and pocketed.

It was everywhere. And suddenly, Riley realized she had made the right decision in coming to visit Death.

This Isle held many secrets.

One Four Clans token obtained.

The Temple was the first place that Sparrow went upon his trip to the Isle of Death, mostly because he wanted the time to himself - and the Temple of Guidance, with its enormous domed ceiling, intricately carved marble work, and extreme detailing in every little fixture seemed the perfect place to do just that.

Inside it was quiet, and his footsteps echoed quietly within the expansive building. Outside, there were rows upon rows of candles, and Sparrow stepped towards them, along the wall, letting his fingers hover over the small flames without touching them. There was something glittering between them, and, curious, he reached down, picking up two small objects.

He was not certain what they were, but he tucked them into his pockets anyway for safekeeping.

The journey to the Temple of Guidance was, nonetheless, hauntingly beautiful despite the ghoul's natural disposition which was very much against fire. Or perhaps it was that the row of candles were burning steadily, providing her with a sense of calm and confidence in contrast to the fickleness of a flickering flame. It was strange then that amidst the steady dots of light that there was a sudden flicker. Two in fact.

The ghoul headed towards the area where she had caught the glinting of something, and it might have pleased her to find that two flat stone items – the tokens that she had been encountering regularly during her stay – lay there waiting. Those two, like the rest she had found, would be claimed by her as well.

It was through a similar process that the ghoul would find another two of these stone tokens – an outstanding glimmer amongst the candles would catch her attention and draw her towards where they were. Enough of the trivial looting for now though, the ghoul quickly slid her finds into her pocket and headed into the Temple itself, taking in the magnificent sight. For a while, her eyes were lost to the ornate architecture of the building – the temple alone was far more than what she had seen in the past two weeks with War and Famine. What was the nature of this clan? she wondered, though the wry answer came to her soon enough. Death.

Curious, how many mysteries death seemed to hold.

Whether she had done it unconsciously or not, the ghoul had mostly wandered along the walls of the Temple, avoiding the pyre of incense that burned in the middle of the hall. It wasn't a pity though; the ghoul found much joy in observing and admiring the exquisite architecture and detail of the carvings that adorned this sacred place. The way forward eventually found the ghoul in front of a statue, its imposing figure cloaked and bowed in prayer. Again, the ghoul wondered what it was that the Clan of Death did, what they represented, what their culture was like. Certainly, they were the most enigmatic of the four.

Just as she was about to leave, her sharp eyes spotted something in between the statue's clasped hands. She knew what it was, and wondered if the horsemen thought it was sacrilege for her to be picking the stone item from its hands. Still, it was probably not meant to be there, and the ghoul simply picked it up and slid it into her pocket for safekeeping.

((Enter~))

Malodore padded into the temple, having made a beeline there instead of the forges. It remembered the vision the Clan of Death had sent to them, and was most curious, if wary, about the Clan's knowledge and 'mystical' ways. They certainly had a high degree of power that it was unfamiliar with.

Thus, the plague doctor entered the temple, a hush falling over it immediately. A glint of light caught its eye, and it bent down to retrieve two of those odd spiral-marked tokens from the ground under some of the candles. The candles felt like they did little to actually dent the silent dimness beneath the massive dome. This was their temple... what did they worship, it wondered? Was the dream-power they seemed to possess somehow religiously motivated or granted?

Death was a powerful realm...

Turning its head, Malodore realized there was a familiar figure here; its beak opened in a smile. While it couldn't bring itself to interrupt the silence by speaking, it didn't have to. I see wherever I go, I am naturally led to your side, it thought, folding its hands and waiting for Riley to notice it.

Riley had just managed to close the book when she felt the touch of Malodore's presence, a moment before it spoke to her. She turned her head, her eyes thinning as she eyed it mischievously, and walked over very slowly, making no sound with each step she took.

She was glad for their private method of speaking, as she wouldn't have wanted to disturb the hallowed silence of the hall.

It's not so bad, is it? She whispered, even though she didn't need to. I can only hope you never wish to get away from me. I will always find you.

The slimer hugged the pillars and its walls. He wove around them quietly. He consciously took light steps, carefully picking each foot up, and gently placing them on the marble as he made for the center of the room. His green glow was a little dim. He rarely walked on his feet, but he found it a little unusual that the floor beneath him felt hollow, pliable, maybe because he felt them reverberate gently beneath his slimer feet.

The ghost explored the temple at a distance. He knew the plague doctor and the tentacled demon, but didn't want to disturb them. He wanted to take in the grandeur of the temple, and perhaps make a personal pilgrimage to what he feared most; death.

Not bad at all, no. Far from it... and this Island... Malodore looked up and over at a beautifully rendered statue, elegant in its simple outline but touched with fine detail work. I came seeking some knowledge of their power, their visions. Are they clairvoyant or simply... fanciful? I would like to know.

There was another of those spiral tokens glinting in the hands of the statue, between her folded fingers. And these, it continued, reaching out and touching the token. This symbol keeps repeating, more and more. I saw it some on the Isle of Conquest, though I do not recall its presence on the Isle of Famine... was it there on the Isle of War?

The slimer eventually found himself in a room with a few tables filled with books on them. The last hour or two had spent mostly at a few spots, staring at the pillars, walls and the ceiling. He was taking note on their design, and compared it the last isle he had been in. He was looking for similarities and differences. Then a few times, he would notice the stillness of the place.

His curiosity eventually led him to the books. He wanted to read them, and maybe understand what Death meant to others. But something else distracted him, a little token.

Not there at Famine..? Riley looked remarkably surprised to hear it. I would have assumed.. Yes, we found it at War. But these tokens, they are found everywhere, are they not? I assumed them to be currency, shared through all four Isles. The symbols, however, have begun to show much more prominently here, in what little time I have spent at this Isle.

She fingered one of her own tokens curiously. I was just musing on what the symbol could stand for, when you found me. I have theories.. nothing solid.

It might have been present - I simply was not looking for it, at the time. That is the most likely explanation. Malodore bobbed its head and opened its beak in a smile. Might I take you there, later? It is such a charming place, so full of fascinating plants. Their culture is one I think you might enjoy - familiar without being oppressively so. The things they do with sound alone...

It was evident that Malodore was a fan of the Famine Clan.

The plague doctor turned and looked at the book Riley had been examining earlier. And here it is again. What Guidance might Death have for us... I wonder...
