General setting: The Oasis is a small body of water that breaks away from the otherwise tedious nature of the surface of the Isle of Famine, nestled into location by a series of high cliffs. It is reachable through a series of pathways underground, and acts as the water reservoir for the clan, especially involving their testing rooms. While the water is dry, clean, the area is also for the most part abandoned. The only real function of the oasis is to act as a natural cooling agent close to one of the exits of the colonies underground. OOC gaia_crown [General ORP Mechanics] : This is an ORP THREAD FOR ALL. Dev had to admit the underground pathways definitely aroused her interest. She was not fond of digging, but such routes could be useful and added to her growing impression of the Famine Clan. It was dim in the tunnels, illuminated mainly by the glow of both her eyes and Fallow’s as well. “Ah wonder where thes will lead tae,” she wondered aloud before she noticed an opening up ahead. Her pace quickened until she walked past some cliffs, which she gave a quick look before turning to stare at the oasis in the middle of the area. Unsurprisingly, a majority of the place remained covered in sand, but there was now a pool of water. Dev hummed at the discovery. With the barren landscape of the island, she had wondered where the horsemen gathered there water, and here was her answer.
She took a step forward for a closer view of the water, but a buzzing sound filled her ears. Ears twitching, Dev looked up to notice a tiny group of bugs floating toward and away the oasis. She cocked her head. A wave of curiosity overcame the cu sith and she took a few steps toward the bugs, which looked like locusts. She turned around to call out to Fallow. “Dae ye see those bugs?”

The underground passages were.... fascinating, though not as fascinating as the place they came upon next. Emerging after Dev into the oasis, Fallow was first and foremost aware of the dryness of the atmosphere, the difference in climate that bit into his skin rather mercilessly and made him rumble. He wasn't quite sure he liked the unpleasantness of Famine's surface, especially the amount of sand that was getting into his shoes. "Hmm." He rumbled softly, looking at the oasis and turning to Dev, his ears quirking upwards in bafflement and intrigue. "Do you think the water is nice and cool, or do you think the horsemen of Famine have filled with something... ah, unsavory?" He grinned carnivorously at the idea, but at the same time, he was still messing the others of his very rashly formed herd.
The Púca's thoughts were quickly derailed by a buzzing noise. It seemed that locusts were zipping through the oasis in strange, erratic patterns, and trotting a few paces from Dev and closer to the small swarm, fingers reaching out as though to catch them, though some buzzed away and made for the scarce palm trees. Some landed on his ears though, and the Púca instantly crouched, becoming a perch for them in wonderment, almost missing something shiny within the center of one of the small swarms.
Turning his head carefully, the Púca looked back at Dev with a curious brow.
"Dev, what are these things?"

Mea brimmed with excitement at the passageway and felt along its side with a gentle hand. As a Mouryou she was fond of digging, especially for the next freshest meal and could only speculate the creation of such wonderful things - and more-so what had they found when making them. With a twitch of her ears she stopped for a moment, hearing the call of the familiar reaching out to her in such wonderful toned. Like food she craved to be near them and with such a notion hurried into a sprint.
"DEVDEVDEV!" She shouted in a tone to mimic that of Fallow before colliding directly into the ghoul, wrapping her arms around her into a shallow embrace. Grinning wildly she moved back and nodded to the Puca. "You could have woken me up you know." She teased before clasping a hand around his for a brief moment before departing to bounce around them excitedly. "It's so warm here! And the smell of sand!" Taking in a deep whiff she sighed happily, gazing back towards her friends.
Before more could be said she turned her gaze, her ears twitching wildly to the erratic buzzing sound near them. With wonder in her eyes she huddled closely near the two. "I see them too." She whispered, gazing over the bugs with a sudden urge. "Do you think they're crunchy?" She said with a waggle of her body, tilting one way from the other. "I wonder if they're stealing that water, or planting babies." She turned a curious gaze towards the others. "Hm?"

“Unsavory?” she repeated, brows furrowing at the inquiry. She gave the boil a long, hard look as she contemplated his words. Dev’s expression appeared to be incredulous at first, then seriously thoughtful when she realized the meaning behind his words. “Ah dunnae know. How abit ye fin’ out?” She revealed her teeth in a wolfish beam, half-nodding for him to walk toward the pool to see for himself.
Ears perked up when she heard the repetition of her name. It was distinctively high-pitched, not quite like Fallow’s or Bon’s voice. She pulled her smile wider when she let tiny arms wrap around her. Dev managed to turn around to face Mea, engulfing her in a bear hug that took the mouryou a few feet off the ground for a brief moment. “How ye doin’? Ah heard ye rode mounts an’ slept in hammocks.” She flicked an ear toward Fallow.
“Those things? Ah hink they’re called locusts.” She made a face. “Crunchy? How abit ye try one?” Dev grinned as she strolled over to the water, now curious about whether or not it was ‘unsavory.’ She strolled over to the water’s edge and kneeled down, hands half-buried in the sand while she looked for her reflection. “Hm?” A curious hum when she noticed the unusual sheen of the water. It was blue, but it also appeared glossy. She tilted her head. It was mixed with black too. Tentatively, she dipped a finger in and drew swirls in the liquid. Dev frowned at the sensation. It was like water mixed in with…what was it, oil?

1-20 1-20: The Oasis looks pretty much abandoned, you notice that almost all the signs of vegetation nearby have been harvested OOC: You obtain TWO Four Clans points which you can redeem in OOCLY. "Oh, hello." Fallow chirped when Mea appeared, his tail wagging in appreciation. "You got my message? And I would have, but you seemed so very, very comfortable and it was so wretchedly difficult to pack and be on time as it was." Leave it to Fallow to leave everything until the last second. Grinning wildly at the rabbit from his position as a perch for a few locusts, the Púca blinked at the question of whether or not they could be crunchy. "Well, I suppose so," Scratching one ear, Fallow shook off the bugs and listened as they buzzed away and into the wind.
Blinking over at Dev, Fallow yawned during her hard look. "Perhaps," He rumbled, "I have never much liked getting wet though." Stretching himself to his full height, the Púca began trotting for the waterline, wondering if they were even supposed to be touching it at all. Well, it was not as though there were any clan members around to tell him otherwise. The Púca grinned. And breaking the rules had never been something he'd tried very hard not to do.
"It seems plenty safe right now, I suppose," He called back to Dev, though his ears quirked when she put her own fingers into the water. "What is wrong with it?" He asked, tilting his entire body over in an attempt to examine her finger closer. "It seems very odd for water." And it smelled weird too. The Púca wrinkled his nose. Huh. His confusion only expanded when he turned his head and noticed what seemed like vegetation nearby. Or... ah, what had been vegetation.
"Hmmmmmm."
Sighing softly, the Púca trotted over, getting tired of the way he seemed to have to wade through all of the sound. And how it... well, got everywhere. Peering closer to the vegetation, Fallow was surprised to see it all harvested and nearly gone. Had the horsemen been in a rush, or on a shortage of food? How strange. Fallow bent over and wondered belatedly what sort of stuff this was. Food? Ingredients?
"Mea, does this look like food to you?" He asked the rabbit over his shoulder before something glinted out of the corner of his eye.
Hm.

It took a while to turn her gaze back from the bugs. The rabbit had decided not to go crunching them just yet but rather wanted to reconnect to her comrades. "Maybe in a bit when my stomach goes all grumbly." She nodded towards Dev, smiling at Fallow with warmth in her eyes. "I did, but my legs are faster than my fingers unless snacks are involved." It was a giggle of sorts that rose from her chest which silenced her and the resorted to walking near the pool's edge tentatively.
"..food."
Mea's head spun back to the horse and she hopped over, staring at the piece of vegetation. Sniffing gently she moved her head back with a puzzled look. "It's not exact, like something we'd know, but it's close I think. So yes, food." She reached out a hand a poked at a harvested stalk with a wary finger. "Or at least edible in some way. But I've been wrong before." A sheepish grin trailed along her face as she recalled attempting to eat her fish charm back in Conquest. The memory faded and she gazed out over the water, eyes vacant in the calmness of it all.
Her eyes shifted and she blinked, moving near the water's edge and looking it over. "I haven't seen water like this, is it even safe to drink?" She asked, leaning her face over it to stare back into her reflection. The murky darkness swirled gently under her gaze and she felt inclined to touch it, though refrained. "If we're staying here, do we have to drink this?" She posed the question back towards her comrades.

Mitsu was excited to see another Isle and even more so that she would be seeing it along with Shun. Having been away from him another week she was glad to be at his side again and clung to his hand in an effort not to part from him.
The sun was rather fierce on this Isle, more so than any of the others. Tilting her hat to keep her face protected she looked around at what looked like nothing more than sand and....more sand.
It probably hadn't been the greatest of ideas to have Mitsu take the lead. She was willing to do it but the path had taken them mostly in circles until they finally ended up at the Oasis before them. It stood out from the rest of the scenery. Lush and green, the air much cooler here no doubt due to the pool of water.
"Oh look!" Mitsu could see movement in the water from here and urged Shun forward. Perhaps there were fish in the pond!
Certain Shun wouldn't want to be too close to the water's edge Mitsu released his hand once they were close so she could peer in to have a closer look. Closer was the wrong idea it turned out since whatever the shadow was the was beneath the water's edge lashed out and wrapped around her foot and started to drag her in.
"AH!" Her feet were taken out from under her and Mitsu began to claw at the ground trying to pull her way free, kicking at the...plant? Monster? that had a hold of her.

“Oh? Ah dorn’t min’ gettin’ wet. It gits rainy at home sometimes.” She shot Fallow a look at the safety comment. “Ye sure abit ‘at?” Dev commented dryly as she drew another swirl in the water before taking out her hand. She shook off water, the droplets pattering and creating thin ripples in the surface. “It is weird. It’s got a weird feelin’ tae it.” Her gaze trailed after the puca as he wandered off, eyeing the vegetation before she decided to examine the water for a while longer. This time, Dev’s hand fell deeper into the water and she made small splashes in the pool before she joined her friends’ conversation about the harvested vegetation. “Clever nose ye got thaur, Mea.” She pressed her hands against the sand to push herself up so she could walk over to Fallow and Mea. Dev threw a reprehensive look toward the oasis. “Drink it? Ah hope nae.”
The bugs began to buzz in her ears again. She frowned, a low growl rumbling in her throat as she reached up to swat at the locusts—annoying buggers. A startled cry drew her attention and Dev looked back to see a lupine ghoul and Shun. Eyes widened at the ghoul, who appeared to be struggling for unknown reasons. She leaned forward to murmur to Fallow and Mea, “She okay?”
Dev spoke louder, this time calling out to the pair. “Ur ye okay?”

"I do so hope not," Fallow responded when Mea questioned if they would have to drink the water, "it seems very strange. Perhaps we can simply go to Conquest once we are hungry. They do have a lot of tea." His ears quirked at the idea of the strange snacks and drinks they'd been given in the other Isle. Compared to it, Famine was much more... ah, wild. Fallow's ears pricked and shivered. But then, that was to be expected, he supposed.
Picking himself up from the leftover vegetation, Fallow trotted back over to his little ground and rumbled softly, leaning on Mea for support. It wasn't that he was tired, far from it. But the sand was getting very annoying very fast. No wonder so much Famine was underground.Turning back to Dev and Mea, the Púca's ears pricked at the sound of someone else approaching, only for his eyes to widen when the girl was attacked by what looked like a plant.
"Oh." He paused, not quite sure how to react. "Oh, Dev, Mea, there is a person being attacked plant over there. What should we do?"
It was a very quaint question for a very strange subject, and ears quirking, Fallow tilted his head from side to side indecisively.
She seemed to have brought someone else with her, and after a few moments, the plant seemed to relent. Was he supposed to ask if she was okay? Was that impolite? Aaah, why were manners so hard?!
And it seemed the locusts had returned again!
Fallow's ears twitched as another bug landed on his ear. Turning to Mea, the Púca growled softly. "Maybe you should try eating one? There are so many."

Mea nearly face-planted into the water but kicked back away from it just in time - only to fall backwards with an "Oof!". She felt Fallow brush up against her and she smiled at the comfort but turned at the sounds the others had already picked up on. "Hmm?" She made the sound as she mulled over the idea of returning to conquest. It would have to be settled later and she moved closer to her little band, watching the other girl, perplexed. She was about to join in the questioning herself when she shifted on the bank, moving into a bed of reeds.
"Ah!" It was a small, shrill sound and she stood, surrounded by them. "Huh?" They were tall, so tall she could barely see where she had been a moment before. For a single moment she entertained the idea of eating her way out but allowed it to pass when she got a whiff of them. These things were clearly not for eating.
With little resistance from the reeds she began to move from the clump she'd fallen into and stopped to stare. Had they just moved? Turning back to stare they seemed to settle in the light, sandy breeze moving over them and acted normally as any plant would. A chilling sensation crept up her spine and she dove from them, out towards her friends. "The plants are alive!" The rabbit said, scrambling over the sand and clinging onto Fallow's arm.
Wildly her eyes searched for the other ghoul while she clung onto his arm for support. "They didn't get her, did they?"

Something dangles in one of the palms bordering the slushy sands leading to the oasis, swaying gently in the breeze. Perhaps the horsemen left this behind, and the salamanders haven't managed to get to it yet. The wind occasionally obscures it from view, blowing the tree's branches in front of it and causing it to rock precariously. It appears to be a strange parcel, wrapped in leaves. ((Entering)) There was no lack of sand in this area for that matter, and Shun was wondering if it was really a good idea to let Mitsu take the lead given her sense of direction. .. Oh well. It was too late now. He'd just have to take the lead later on. But she did bring them to a sort of oasis. It was pretty nice looking too. As he moved closer to the pond, Mitsu was soon grabbed by the plant monster thing. He heard Dev's voice from nearby, but he was a little preoccupied rushing towards the wolf's side to help free her. He pried it away, but apparently the plant decided to switch to him. A sort of strangled noise escaped him as the vines grabbed him by the throat and began to tug. "Gack!"((+1 clan point!))
