General setting: The sacred temple is a large open shrine that leads into a deeper section inside, composed of two floors. The first floor is composed entirely of simple wooden engravings along the pillars and walls, the enter area depicts a large wooden carving of what would most likely be the Imperial Majesty of Conquest, sitting nobly on a throne. There are several Clans members kneeling in front of it in reverence. The second floor is composed of an "archives" area, though the scrolls are off limits.

[[ Entering ]]

Aurian made her way slowly from the portal to one of the more important-looking buildings on the island. It looked impressive - the sort of place secret things might be kept. Perhaps more importantly, it was easy to see, so Aurian always had it in sight and could easily navigate her way across the bridges and walkways to find it.

She wasted several minutes outside, staring up at the building. Gold and bright red, it was eyecatching to say the least. A pond filled with colourful fish and pink floating flowers distracted her yet again. Aurian knelt by the pond and trailed her fingers through the cool water - until she spied some Clans members exiting, and then Aurian tried to pretend she'd been merely getting a better look and wasn't wiping a wet hand on her skirt of belts, no. It was a good prompt to actually enter the building, if only to avoid their judging eyes.

Sheesh, this might be the prettiest of all the islands, but the Clan was clearly the most uptight, too.

Aurian made her way up to the second floor, staring and trying to take everything in. This room was filled with rolled up scrolls, was practically wall-to-wall with them. Aurian's heart leapt at the idea of searching them for information - perhaps the mysterious '1999' that had been written on several tomes in Death Clan's great library. Unfortunately, they were all locked up. Aurian pouted. That was no way to treat information - people needed to know things!

She wasn't about to try and break the locks, though, so she turned and continued wandering through the temple.

After the Lotus pavilion - and not without trembling - Wylfenne went to the Dragon Temple where they underwent their first nasty adventure. Again, it seemed somehow changed - the atmosphere seemed charged.

There was a sudden shriek, then noise, and then silence again. The fae looked around to see where it came from, but could not spot any opening doors or hidden rooms.

They saw a fellow guest student and thought about approaching them, but then suddenly realized they were not introduced properly. Still, it was worth giving a try.

Wylfenne looked around the temple and noticed that the statues seemed quite asymmetrical. It amused them, and helped to dissolve their low spirits.

They smiled and addressed the ghoul politely:
'Excuse my interrupting your contemplation of the temple. My name's Wylfenne, I am one of the guest students....' - the fae tailed off, waiting for them to show whether they are inclined to continue the conversation.

Aurian stiffened when someone approached - she wasn't touching anything, she swore! - but relaxed as she took in an outfit that didn't belong to any member of the Conquest Clan. The other ghoul introduced herself. She seemed a little shy, but Aurian could relate.

"I don't mind," she reassured Wylfenne brightly. "It's nice to know others are visiting here, too, not just me. I'm Aurian." She extended her hand to shake.

The status of 'guest' had Aurian confused for a moment. Then the metaphorical lightbulb lit, along with Aurian's expression. "Oh! Actually, I used to come on excursions as a guest myself. They... didn't end so well, though..."

Like the train crash, one time the students had planned to visit ChristmasTown. But if Wlyfenne was here at the start of a third week of cultural exchange, she must be doing better than Aurian had during her guest student times.

"Are you enjoying yourself so far?" Aurian asked. "The other students are being nice?" There were some mean ones, Aurian knew. Some of the demons and the bigger monsters. Hopefully the other ghoul hadn't had any bad experiences, though.

While they were speaking, a loud creak sounded. Aurian spun around. That had sounded like it came from behind her, but she couldn't see anything that could have caused it. No doors, no windows... Where had that sound come from?

Wylfenne smiled a bit apologetically: 'Not too much luck in guessing the clan's riddles. I was here the first week of our training, and the experience was.... amusing, in a way. This temple reminds me of some of the brightest experiences'... - they made a broad gesture and put a special stress on the word 'brightest' as if wanting to dwell on it further but being kept from it by second thought. 'And you, were you a student of the Conquest clan in the second week? Did you have to do all that incense stuff? - they smiled again, at the memory of it. - 'I am sorry, I am not from Amityville, so it all looks so new to me...'

Aurian titled her head, wondering which Clan had been giving the students riddles. She was glad she hadn't picked whichever one it was - Aurian wasn't so good with riddles. Her friends were, so she did okay in group scenarios, but solo? Best to avoid that.

"No, I didn't visit Conquest at all til now. It's all very new to me," Aurian laughed. "I was staying with the Death Clan, then with War. We learned jewelery making and mounted combat They were very interesting. And the priestesses of Death do some things with incense, too, but probably not the same thing as here." No one had mentioned visions of the future from Conquest Isle. And the priestesses did guard their secrets very closely.

"What classes did you take? Were they fun?"

'Well, I took Conquest and Death, and Death had me all.... bewildered. We had a training in trance and guidance, and during it we were killed by the Humans, then saw Humans being killed by the Clans, then saw Halloween turned into ruins by the Clans and Horsemen hunting the Halloweeners', Wylfenne wondered whether during the previous week at the Death Isle was less... life-taking than the time they spent there. - 'What do you think about horsemen, in general?'

"Huh." Aurian rocked back on her heels when Wylfenne described the Trance vision. That was not at all like the short one Aurian had experienced in the temple. "So that was in a class on Trance? Some of us experienced a Trance for ourselves, but I saw a future where I was ruling a city and my own army."

Did that mean, though, that there was a possible future where HalloweenTown was extermined by a war between the Hunters and the Horsemen? Aurian didn't want to believe it could be true, but from what she'd seen of those two groups... And especially when the Hunters had the ability to turn every single member of HalloweenTown into a weapon...

"I don't think I've met enough of them to have a 'general' opinion, apart from thinking they're very secretive, even from each other," Aurian admitted with a shake of her head. "I've met some really nice ones, particularly in the Death Clan. And then some aren't so nice. The members of War Clan were a bit... grouchy. And so far I've only heard the ambassador for Conquest, but he was rather nasty, wasn't he?" Not as in a horrible monster, but with his sneering and his obvious disdain for the students. Aurian didn't think he was a very good ambassador at all - weren't they meant to be diplomatic?

"Why, what do you think about them?"

Wylfenne furrowed their brows. 'Well, I mean they are distanced - and I don't think they are nasty; they don't care too much about us, but they are not supposed to. Here, on the Isle of Conquest, they have been exquisitely polite; as for the Ambassador, well... He should be one of the nobility, and it explains it. For him, we're all just commoners. and he won't bother about our feelings, so just don't take it personal. What was your experience on the War Isle? Any indications they are preparing something? Did you notice anything suspicious?... and also, who are those Humans with shiny weapons? In our trance class I saw them fighting with the Clansmen, though they lost, of course' - the fae tried desperately to gather information on the questions that seemed vital to her.

Lacie, having received a text from Aurian, came to stand on the doors of Conquest. Well, that wasn't all. Since she hadn't had a chance to come, Lacie expressed a desire to visit the isle. But if she had expected anything.. Conquest was simply amazing, startling the small reaper into speechlessness. If she had thought anything of the other isles, Conquest didn't disappoint.

She sat on the shores of the lake at first, watching the fish swim in the pond. Occasionally, she hear a splash, and her attention was drawn to it momentarily.

Eventually, she stood up and dusted herself odd. She entered the temple slowly, hesitantly, not yet knowing much of the rules for this clan. It would be dreadful if she was doing something that she wasn't supposed to.

As she looked around, exploring, a creak came from behind her. Turning around, she looked for the source. But her attention was distracted by a familiar figure, spying Aurian. "Hello Aurian." Lacie greeted with a slight bow.

It was also then that she caught sight of the student that Aurian was speaking to. Blushing from embarrassment at her rudeness in interrupting, Lacie quickly bowed to the guest student as well. "I-I'm sorry for interrupting..!"

In her apology, Lacie retreated back a step. Her foot nearly slipped on the uneven flooring, causing the reaper to look down. Each of the tiles.. were not the same. It wasn't surprising for such a ornate, detail-oriented clan to do so, but at the same time -- it was quite remarkable.

The golden hues of orange reflected in Lacie's golden eyes as she stared, transfixed by them. She felt the overhwleming urge to reach out for them.

The fact he'd been able to quell his anger was good enough for Invictus. In fact, for those who knew him from Amityville his demeanor would have been seen as rather normal for the heir's way. However, there was also those who knew him better and would be able to tell that he was not happy about being there. But, he would be an adult. He would handle this responsibility as calmly as he could and he would remind himself of the finery of his home, day after day.

It would not be the first time he revisited the Temple of the Nine Dragons, either, walking through the halls of it with a familiarity to his actions and a calmness. He treated certain things with the reverence he'd always been raised to, but he paused in front of the wooden carving of his father, taking a moment and sitting in front of his, his expression impassive.

Another student entered, and on greeting their new acquaintance, bowed to WYlfenne as well and apologized for interrupting their conversation.

'No need to worry', answered the fae firmly. 'We have not been discussing anything that should be kept a secret; and it concerns everyone anyway I am Wylfenne of the Unseelie Court, pleased to meet you'.

On catching glimpse of their tutor of the Clan of Conquest, Invictus the Heir, Wylfenne bowed.
