Inner Peace

The room was divided into cubicles, each cubicle with a small, rectangular carpet in it. The whole place was so quiet that it was almost odd, and smelt strongly of incense; however, the smell seemed to calm your mind, and some students might find themselves feeling a little too relaxed or sleepy; there wasn't really anyone in the room to man it, just a sign lit by candles.

"Calm your mind, seek inner peace"

Perhaps you should try meditation... As you take a seat in one of the cubicles, a horsewoman of Death appeared behind you, and lowered a curtain that closed ypur cubicle off from the rest of the room; maybe there was someone manning the room after all...

Quote:
-> This is a solo activity!

Roll 1d10
1-2 : You got distracted...
3-4 : You fell asleep!
5-6 : You feel almost... Tranquil. (+1 concentration)
7-8 : You feel like you're floating on a cloud... (+2 concentration)
9-10 : You feel light as a feather, and surprisingly at peace with yourself. (+3 concentration)

Once you have at least 3 concentration points...
-> You've gained 1 Horseman point!
-> From the peace, turmoil rises!
-> You suddenly remember a fear you have. It could be anything; an old memory, a phobia...

Roll 1d100:
1-20 : Your concentration broke immediately, and you leave feeling shaken.
21-40 : You lasted a minute, battling with this fear, but ended up breaking into a cold sweat as your concentration shatters. You couldn't help shaking as you leave.
41-60 : You feel so conflicted, so unsure- A hand rests on your shoulder. It is the horsewoman of Death; she smiles, and escorts you out.
61-80 : Despite your uncertainty, your concentration stayed and when you finally open your eyes, you feel... Relatively at peace. It was as if you got one step closer to overcoming your fear, in that moment. (+1 Horsemen Point)
81-100 : You battled with your fear, beads of sweat cling to your skin. It was tough, and you wasn't sure how many hours you spent in that cubicle, and you might had been crying, but... As you opened your eyes and walked out of the room, your heart is light as a feather. (+2 Horsemen Points)

Tybalt entered the room and blinked, taking a minute to let his eyes adjust to the lightning. When he looked a again, he noted the little cubicles taking up the entire room. Which he had to admit, was a little strange to him at first. He knew this was a place for meditation, but for some reason he expected it to have been designed a little different. For instance, he expected to see a group of people sitting around a big pyre, in a wide open room or something. Not that he was complaining. He still found the whole meditation thing a little awkward, so privacy while meditating was a welcome idea to the black dog.

Carefully picking his way through the room, the black dog chose cubicle for himself. One close enough to the door so that he wouldn't bump into anything on the way out. Though by the time the horseman appeared to drop the curtain to isolate his cubicle from the rest of the room, Tybalt had already dozed off.

When he finally woke up from his nap, he was curled on the carpet, one hand clutching the curtain that closed him off from the rest of the room. The curtain which he must have tried to wrap around himself in his sleep and use as a blanket. Oh... well... looks like the whole cubicle thing was a good thing after all. At least it saved him from drooling in front of everyone as he slept when he was supposed to be meditating.

Releasing his hold on the curtain, and sitting upright, Tybalt tried to clear his mind like Cybele had taught them. It started to work, but just as he started let his thoughts go, something caught his attention.

The curtain... was snagged on the small charm he had made out of Red's horns.

"W-whoops..!" He quickly freed it, checking the it over for any tears he might have made, but was relieved to find there were none.

With the curtain free and Tybalt no longer sleepy, he tried to clear his head again. This time easily slipping into a state of peace. Like the last time he had done the whole meditation exercise, he became more aware of things he wouldn't have been if he were fully conscious. It was nice, peaceful. He could easily see how people got into the habit of adding meditation to their daily routine.

Unfortunately, like the last time, something crept up on him.

Fears. He could never bury. Though unlike the last time, it came in the form of yellow eyes and sleek black fur. A cat. He denied it, but he had always feared them. Or at least he had since his brother intentionally riled up a group of them and then abandoned him, leaving the young black dog pup to fend for himself. It hadn't ended well for Tybalt, obviously, and the result of that was his strong fear of the feline race.

He hated them.

Hate? No... That was too strong a word and it wasn't completely right. When he came to Amityville, he hated them yes. But over the past two years, he had met several felines. One of which was starting to become, despite being a royal pain in the a** at times, a true friend. Someone who stood by him, no matter the situation. He wasn't someone he hated or feared. Not anymore.

Tybalt took in an unneeded breath and maybe for the first time since the event took place, looked the cat directly in the eye.

"I'm no longer afraid of you. You can no longer scare me." Those were probably words he'd never expect to hear himself say. He still disliked cats yes. He probably always would, but he wasn't afraid of them anymore and he certainly didn't hate them.

His answer seemed to do the trick. The cat vanished, dissipating back into the depths of darkness, leaving his mind clear of thought again.

Had he just... admitted and overcome his fear of cats?
