I'll set you right up with them Extermination Pape-what?!? A few days? Ho, that's a laugh. You'll likely be here for the rest of your life. Hm? I bet you were expecting them itty bitty bugs from e'erywhere else right? Well here the smallest bugs we've got are mosquitos the size of melons. You heard me right? We got all manner of giant creepy crawlies and none to friendly. None too smart either, though there's a few with a bit of brains to 'em. We need folks like you y'see. That's why we hired four of ya. The best in the land. Alright, let's you get you sorted? You've got a busy rest of your life to lead.≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ Welcome to a strange and silly land, medieval in nature, but with a twist : most towns and people are forced to contend with the presence of giants bugs. Some, not all, of these bugs are dangerous and a few can even talk. For the longest time the job of being an Exterminator was never a glamorous one until the first great adventure undertaken by Reemus the Exterminator ad his Purple Bear companion. After their grand exploits, Exterminating bugs became a very popular and heroic occupation. Now not everybody makes the cut and not all towns need one, but way out there, the town of Morticus has put out a call for not one, NOT two Exterminators, but four. Morticus has a very serious bug problem and so four of the lands most able Exterminators were recruited to undertake Project Pesticide. As per tradition each Exterminator has a companion (not a singing purple bear sadly, just everyday humans) and as one of the eight brave men and women who have come to settle the many problems of Morticus it is your job to tackle the missions as they come. Nobody knows how long your stay will be, but the Mayor predicts a lifetime and if that ain't an ample dose of job security then who knows what is? Anywhoos you've all arrived on the same day, all ready to be assigned your houses, and itching to get a start on your lifetime of bug-related missions. Most of the townsfolks are out to meet you, so get ready to put your best foot forward. Project Pesticide has begun!≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ R E S E R V E ____ F O R M A T Name / Age / Gender

R__U__L__E__S General :Welcome, I be Dakuo, the god and creator of this here roleplay. I expect everybody to follow the Gaia ToS, no ifs, ands, or buts. Godmodding, autohitting, and the like are completely unacceptable. Please respect what I have to say, as here my word is absolute, though I promise you I'm quite a benevolent person. Also, though this goes without saying, respect all your fellow roleplayers. If there is a problem (heaven forbid) it will likely already have been brought to my attention. I really hope Project Pesticide will be fun place for all, so if issues do arise I promise to do my best to solve them. Keep IC drama separate from OOC drama and all should be well. If there any questions or concerns please PM me. I'll always be willing to listen. Also, expect hugs. Posting and Literacy : This is Lit-Adv. Lit roleplay, so in regards to posting I expect a good minimum of 3-4 paragraphs and maximum of no more than 12. Well written paragraphs that are consistent, coherent, and detailed are a complete must. Naturally, I'd like to be able to read such wonderful posts, so no super bright or super faint posting colors if you please (absolutely no Cyan is to be used) along with somewhat average font sizes (10, 11, and 12). Included in your post should be your character's name, a picture of him or her, a dash of color, and some moderately nice formatting. Swearing, violence, and romance are all quite nice to have, though I do ask for there to be limits. Keeping things tasteful and warranting nothing higher than a PG-13 rating here on Gaia will ensure that Pest stays off the captain's (and VC's) radar in regards to inappropriateness. Please no cybering. I will report you if any of that is brought in here. Keep OOC limited and in the correct forum and make sure you always double check your posts with a spell checker before hitting the submit button.Reserves & Profiles : Okay, basically, there aren't going to be any super massive or super complex profiles for you to fill out. In fact I've scratched the idea entirely and so all you, the roleplayer, need do is send out one of the reserves and that will be good enough of a profile for this roleplay. Please follow the format as best you can. There are 8 spots and there needs to be a total of four males and four females. I myself may or may not be taking one of the reserves and I'll explain why in the NPC section.NPC's : There are a very good number of NPC characters, plus maybe a few more to be had later on. Normally I would be leaving things up to the roleplayers when interacting with the inhabitants of Morticus, but I decided that I would rather take over some of the NPCs myself and even a couple of the bugs and beasties you're bound to face. Because of this overwhelming task I might not be taking an actual character, unless we're one shy of being full and nooooobody is taking whatever the last spot may be. Roleplayers are free to take control of whatever NPCs I'm not taking charge of at the given time. Please note though that when I ask you to relinquish control of an NPC you are to do so posthaste. Also don't abuse the NPCs, kill them off, or make them do inappropriate things. Not without my explicit permission anyways.Other : PP is meant to be a very silly roleplay, so please don't take anything but the rules seriously. Also, if I have to, I may add on more rules so please keep watch here. If you have any suggestions please let me know via PM or in the OOC. Much thanks and loves to you all.

N__P__C__'__S T O W N S F O L K Gallowe Hill ┆ Barkeep. One of the nomadic Tribespeople who live across the land, Gallowe was taught how to mix various bug pheromones in order to survive. His mixes were always potent and at some point he began mixing beverages. Gallowe's tribe lived very close to Morticus and some people came with different drinks for the man to brew. One day Mr. Bumble, who was recently caught up deciding the fate of some decrepit building in the upper town, approached Gallowe about possibly running a bar in town. The Tribesman accepted and after some renovations and a year or so of loan payment, Gallowe Hill's Pub became one of Morticus' small number of profitable and permanent establishments. Gallowe is quiet man and has very low standards for cleanliness. His main good point is that he's very accepting of others and doesn't judge on anybody for any reason. He's also quite generous and lets his regular patrons run up some pretty impressive tabs.
Mr. Bumbles ┆ Mayor. Old as heck and dead serious about keeping the order, but behind this strict facade, Mr. Bumbles is a real softy. The man is a widower and owns the largest house in Morticus. He doesn't leave it much due to his age, but he's never one to shy away from inviting people into his home. He loves to plan and throw parties, the biggest of which is always the one for his darling daughter's birthday. Everybody loves and respects the Bumbles family.
Julie Bumbles ┆ The Mayor's Daughter. Julie Bumbles is an exotic, quiet lady. Her mother and father sheltered her greatly and so she has little knowledge of the world outside. She is very curious and quite artsy. Julie loves to paint pictures and write small snippets of poetry and is really a hopeless romantic. Her best friend is Miley Felbing and she has a crush on William Ryke .
Ricktor Swanson ┆ General Store Owner. Ricktor is the smarmy, secretive, and very sarcastic owner of Mordicus' General Store. He is well known for his magically ever-changing stock of items. Some of things his store sells are seldom seen and as much as people ask, he'll never tell anybody how or where he gets them from. Ricktor is also has bit of a health obsession and will always direct people to his freshest produce (which is usually in stock most days). Oddly enough the man has a terrible smoking habit and is always trying to hide his terrible coughing.
Miley Felbing ┆ Baker. A sweet and charming lass, Miley inherited the bakery and its world famous recipes from her aged grandmother. Miley is very earnest and good natured and is quite beloved by all the other townsfolk. She works very had to keep her family's business afloat and sometimes takes on more than she can chew. She is good friends with the Mayor's daughter, Julie, and comes for visits and tea as often as her busy schedule permits. Miley is also very affectionate and has been know to hug random strangers who come into her shop.
William Ryke ┆ Smithy. The younger of two half-brothers William was sort of dropped off by the older one to take over Mordicus' Forge. The smithy there had been a close friend of theirs and when he passed away on one of their trips up through the town, the elder of the two took matters into his own hand and signed over some papers on his brother's behalf. William wasn't happy to be left behind, but decided to stick it out for the sake of the old smithy's memory. William and his older brother (Charles) don't get on so well anymore and Will has since become a bit of a flirt due to bordem and his brother's absence. William works very hard, beating his frustration out into the many weapons he repairs throughout the day. Will also takes special requests for new weapons to be made, but it takes a long while to actually get around to such things on top of his other jobs.
Elijah Elsmeer ┆Inventor. Elijah, or El as she is most often called, is the forge’s loud-mouthed inventor. Sixteen years old only and hailing from some distant costal land, El arrived in Morticus via boat, with only the clothes on her back and the tools in her belt. The dear girl lives at the forge alongside William Ryke, constantly enduring his many passes and avoiding the eyes of the other townsfolk. Elijah doesn’t talk much about her past and it is widely accepted that she is either an orphan or a runaway. Regardless of her past El serves the city by inventing all kinds of strange, new devices, ranging from flameless lights and death-spitting, powder-charge weapons to music boxes and clockwork timepieces. Sadly, what the lass is most known for her is loud-mouthing, stubborn disposition, and constant trouble making. Deep down El is a great young lady and some, though not all, of the townsfolk respect her for her creativity and mechanical innovation.
O U T S I D E R S
Deryl Stein ┆ Traveling Doctor. A very scary man, but a damn good fixer-upper. If he sees you with a skinned knee or split lips he's bound to go straight for the bonesaw. Deryl wanders the outskirts of town and sets up his mobile clinic wherever somebody happens to be hurt. Most people are pretty wary of him since he is technically blind in one eye. Despite his many shortcomings Deryl Stein is a good man with good intentions, it's just recommended to keep a close eye on him while being treated.
Arden Wil ┆ Gambler. A strange and tricksy man with a poor moral compass. He is widely known to be a swindler and a smooth talker, though he wisely never stays in one place for very long. Mordicus is one of his favorite haunts although the people there have learned to ignore the man. He is great actor and if not for his hefty purse full of winnings he would never be made terribly welcome. He is known to trick other travelers into gambling with him and Arden Wil is quite often the only one who leaves the dice board smiling. His fast, slightly accented, way of talking has been known to push people over the edge being that man never, ever, shuts up.
Sparrow Hawke ┆ Tribesperson. Gallowe Hill’s younger brother, Sparrow Hawke is just as quiet, if not more so, than his elder. Incredibly shy, Sparrow tends to stay as far away as he can from Morticus and the people in it. Strangely, the family ties between Gallowe and Sparrow is stronger than spider silk, and the young tribesman has been known to venture into the city at night to spend time with his brother. Sparrow Hawke speaks very little to the citizens of Morticus and hides always in the shadows when Mr. Bumbles come out from across the river. The man’s strict face terrifies the lad and the mayor is barely aware of Sparrow’s presence. When Sparrow does come into visit Gallowe Hill’s Pub, many of the female guests are bound to gawk, due to the lad’s exotic and handsome features. Sadly for them, Sparrow Hawke is already betrothed to a lady of his tribe, and the wedding ceremony is planned to take place when both parties are deemed ‘of age’. Sparrow’s tribe neither encourages nor discourages the lad's visits, though they do worry when he is away. Trust is scarce between the tribe’s people and the citizen of Morticus due to problems in the past.
Alla Barette ┆ Tribesperson. Sparrowe's betrothed, Alle is a headstrong, dagger-tongued woman who seldom takes no for an answer. She wasn't the first to seek the tribal prince's hand, but with her force of personality and prime pedigree she was the first the elders seriously considered. After being allowed to finally meet, Sparrow willingly accepted her as his bride to be. Alla and Sparrowe are seldom apart, even when the latter goes to visit his brother whom the former is not on good terms with. Alla is very harsh and critical, though she is also known to be sly and seductive. The woman is known to walk around topless without caring whatsoever. Being that most citizens of Morticus are fairly conservative, this raises a lot of issue. The only one who doesn't seem to care is William who finds Alla particularly attractive.
- His Tribe.
Tedson Family ┆ Farmers. A family who raises cows for Morticus. They sell mostly meat and dairy products.
Nils Family ┆ Farmers. A family who grows and sells all kinds of cash crops including corn, potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, pumpkins, peppers, and even tobacco.
Hutchins Family ┆ Farmers. This family raises sheep and Giant Silkworms. They are well known for their soft fabric and blankets.
