Kalypso made way from her dorm to Xerxes dorm room. She was happy that she got to spend time with him. She hadn't seen him since the grave of faries and didn't get to visit him. She didn't have him in any of her classes so didn't get a chance to see him then.
He was going to teach her how to bake and she was real nervous. She didn't want to accidently burn down not only his dorm home but the school. When she got to his dorm room she stopped her hand in mid-knock. She felt so rude. She was about to visit someone and didn't even bring anything with her. Would she need to bring plates and pans and stuff? She knocked on the door and smoothed down her hair and clothes.
She wondered how Xerxes had been doing since the Grave of Faries and couldn't think of something to say to comfort him and boost his spirits. He was probably feeling as low as she was. She decided right then and there not to bring it. She didn't want to open up old wound.

Xerxes cleaned up the last bit of mess in his room and crammed it out of sight under his bed. He gave the room a quick glance over, and the cleanliness of it looked to sterile and unnatural to him. He usually didn't bother much with keeping his dorm room spotlessly clean. But he had a friend visiting him today, and he didn't want his room to be a mess when she arrived. His bed was hardly ever slept in, so it only needed a bit of straightening of the sheets. The rest of his stuff was stuffed into drawers, the closet, or under his bed, including his mountain of pillows.
As he was trying to think if there was any other cleaning that he needed to do, a knock sounded at the door. He tripped over his feet as he rushed over to answer it, yanking open the door. "Hi, Kalypso," he greeted with a bright grin as he opened the door wide enough to allow her to enter his room.
"So, baking," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. Baking was the whole reason for Kalypso's visit today. His mother had taught him a lot about baking, but he had never tried teaching someone else. "Did you have anything in mind?" There were a lot of recipes that he knew, but he wasn't sure what Kalypso might want to learn how to bake first.

Kalypso smiled at Xerxes when he opened up the door. She was able to see his room from behind his shoulders and noted how clean it look. It looked more cleaner than hers. Her room had clothes thrown all over the place. Her room was also more smaller than his since that was what she asked for when she came to the school. "Hi Xerxes. How have you been?" She stepped into his room and took off her shoes. It was something that she was taught how to do ever since she was little. To take off her shoes before stepping in somethings home. It was something her nana had her do when she went to visit her. She looked over at Xerxes.
"Yes Baking." She thought about his second question. She didn't know what they could bake. She never in her life cooked or made anything in the kitchen. She didn't have a kitchen growing up. The only time she saw a kitchen was when she was visting her nana. Her parents never cooked themselves they had always eated out or went to her nana's for food.
"Umm what would be the easiest for us to make?"

"Good, good," Xerxes answered, shoving his hands into his pants pockets. "Have you been well?" They hadn't had the chance to spend much time together since the Halloween party. Classes had kept him busy with studying, and a lot of his free time was spent practicing spells.
"Well, there are a lot of different things we could try," he answered as he walked over to his desk. He picked up a box that was stuffed to over bursting with scraps of paper. "There's cookies and cakes and muffins and cupcakes. I have an excellent recipe for lemon bars." Realizing that he was starting to ramble, he bit his lower lip and glanced over to Kalypso. His cheeks tinged pink with minor embarrassment. "None of them are that difficult, really, as long as you follow the instructions."
It wasn't like they would be cooking souffles or those chocolate cakes where when he cut into them, rich chocolate poured out from the center. He still had never managed to make those successfully. Waiting for Kalypso's answer, he dug around inside the box, sifting through the many recipes.

Kalypso smiled at Xerxes. It was good to see him again. She had meant to try to hang out with him and the others more often but since not passing the grave of fairies trial she had been keeping mostly to herself. She had been practicing her magic. She wanted to be able to be able to good at it.
“I’m doing good. I’ve been studying and practicing my magic.”
She watched as he went over to a desk and picked up a box. She guessed that it had recipes in it. She listened as he described the different recipes that he knew and smiled as he blushed. She thought it was kinda cute.
“Umm… Lemon bars sound nice. We can try to do that.”
She looked over at his stove. She actually didn’t have a stove in her room. Just a microwave. She was too scared that she might accidently burn the dorm down. She didn’t know anything about cooking and looked over at Xerxes.
“The only thing I know about cooking is the last part. The part where I get to eat the food that is prepared.”
