The forest was familiar and yet not, the clearing where she'd managed survive her failed attack against the dragon wasn't the same. A small spark of fear lay glowing in her belly as she trod through the undergrowth. Dark eyes slid over the countless shadows searching for something that wasn't there. Elleth wasn't afraid per-say, but being back in a forest, alone, where she knew at least one dragon lived, didn't sit well with her. It was safe to say that having the life nearly beaten out of her had knocked her down a peg or two.

But she wasn't allowed to go back home for now, not until she'd gotten over her 'silly' fear of the forest.

Samril was once again in the forest. He was determined this time to befriend a dragon, not kill the poor thing. He hadn't meant to, but it had happened. He'd just have to be careful not to let himself get out of hand like that again. He'd just... gotten carried away. That was all.

The sound of something moving not too far away caught the Dovaa's attention. Aha! A dragon to befriend! It never crossed Samril's mind that other things might be in the forest. Nope, dragons to befriend were all that existed in his mind. And so he paid little attention to where he was going, other than straight towards the noises.

As he drew closer, the boy grinned. Oh what would everyone say when he brought a dragon pet home!? They'd be stunned!!

What was that? Elleth spun in a circle, trying to pin point the sound of snapping branches over the sudden pounding of her heart. She scuttled over to the closest tree and somehow managed to climb to one of the lower branches. She perched huddled next to the trunk as if she were trying to blend in, but the sheer white of her robes made that rather difficult.

A small part of her wailed at how weak she was being. She was a warrior in training! Not some dung pusher or little baby. The sound of something moving in the forest shouldn't send her shying away like a beast with its tail between its legs, whimpering at shadows.

Elleth forced herself to calm down, mentally going over her family mantra. She was not weak, she felt no fear, she would face what ever this beast was and show her superiority over them. Or she would die trying.

Samril burst into a clearing, ready to befriend the dragon he was sure was there. Only... there was nothing. The Dovaa paused, clearly confused. He'd heard something here, he was sure of it! Perhaps the dragon was hiding! "Here dragon~ Here boy. I don't want to hurt you." The boy softly called out, not once thinking to look UP. No, he was looking under bushes, behind trees... even under a rock or two.

But no dragon was to be found.

Movement caught her eye as a brightly colored boy? Girl? Creature child burst into the clearing calling...for a dragon? Elleth couldn't believe what she'd just heard, this little fool wanted to find a dragon and not hurt it and probably end up a smear of unidentifiable parts on the forest floor. Just like she'd almost been if sheer dumb luck hadn't saved her. The dark skinned girl shifted her weight, leaning more against the tree's trunk, careful of were her feet were. While it was true that the base of the branch was thick and sturdy, Elleth wasn't feeling very safe were she stood.

It was almost as if she were afraid of heights. Which was absurd. No self respecting Oblivionite was afraid of heights. Only the falling-to-your-death part.

Dark eyes watched as the other started to look under bushes and behind the trees, even picking up a rock to peer at the contents it hid. Elleth shook her head in disbelief, wondering if this wasn't all an act. She'd heard that the other races were formidable opponents but this... this made her question everything she'd ever learned.

Leaning over a bit Elleth picked off some of the peeling bark on the tree and tossed it at the girly boys head. Not even waiting to see if her projectile hit she called out, "Hey, what are you trying to do, catch centipedes?"

Samril had set the rock down with a sigh. He'd doubted there was a dragon under there, but there could have been one there... right? Eh, probably not. Oh well, not like anyone saw-

The Dovaa jumped several feet into the air as something made contact with his head and a voice spoke out almost simultaneously, turning and looking around. (Yet still not up. Silly boy.) "W-who said that?" Spinning in a circle, Samril saw no one. Dragons couldn't talk, so it wasn't a dragon. Had to be a person... but there was no person around!

Perhaps it was the forest? Was this some sacred clearing?! The thought caused his lavender eyes to widen as he slowly stepped back towards the edge, unluckily backing up straight towards the tree Elleth stood in.

Elleth scowled as her question went ignored, the girly boy creature choosing instead to jump around like a scared rabbit. The one good thing about all his wasted movement was that it gave her a better opportunity to study him. What Elleth first thought was an oddly dressed girl was in fact a boy with long hair pulled into braided tails and two white curved horns. She pressed her lips together as she tried to recall which race had horns...

Dovaa. Oh Soudana there was a Dovaa standing under her, oblivious to her presence. Her eyes took on a dark light as she drank in the details before her, of the color of his skin to the scales on his face, the cut of his clothing as the sheer light that seemed to radiate from him. Looking at this boy it was so easy to see why her goddess thirsted for power, why she went to the lengths that she had to create a soulless army to fight in a seemingly unending war.

Elleth found herself wanting the careless attitude this boy had shown just moments before.

Picking off another piece of bark she dropped it on his head, "I did. Try looking up sometime." She commented dryly, leaning over more so that he could at least see her head. "What brings a lone Dovaa out here? Looking for a fight?"

PostPosted: Tue Apr 17, 2012 8:41 pm

Samril had just about decided that the voice had disappeared and left him for good when a piece of bark fell out of the tree behind him. And the tree spoke! Oh wait... not the tree, a person in the tree. Oh. Well, that made more sense than the tree talking...

Samril did indeed look up, trying to see what he could of the dark-skinned figure above him. Dark skin meant.... meant... oh why didn't he pay attention to his instructors more?? Oh! Oblivionite. Yes, Oblivionite. Samril felt so proud to remember before he remembered even more. Oh man! There was an Oblivionite in the tree above him!!! Oblivionites were mean and nasty and-

The boy's train of thought crashed as Elleth continued to speak. "No! I'm looking for a dragon." It sounded a bit stupid to admit that he was wanting to befriend said dragon, so he left that part out. He hoped she wasn't looking for a fight. Not that he wouldn't fight her, but... couldn't they just be friends instead?

"I... don't suppose you've seen one around?"

Well it was already established that this boy was looking for a dragon, to do something that didn't involve killing it of all things. The Oblivionite had to wonder if all Dovaa were this strange, or if this one was an oddity. "A dragon? One tried to eat me a couple weeks ago." Elleth replied, eying the distance between the ground and her branch. If she jumped she wouldn't break a leg, assuming she landed on the Dovaa of course. But looking at the empty space between them made a chill sweep down her back.

Oh blast it all! Elleth refused to remain stuck in the tree (because yes, she finally acknowledged that she was stuck) because of a silly fear that was actually quite healthy. Falling to your death never sounded fun. But she wasn't going to look like a wimp in front of this girly looking enemy who wanted to play with monsters twenty times larger than he was. Just thinking about that again made her head hurt.

"I'm sure if you made more noise one would come to investigate it." She added in a distracted off-hand manner.

Samril looked up at Elleth with a slightly amused expression on his face. "Tried to eat you? I don't think you'd be very tasty," the Dovaa commented with a grin. "I saw one a while back..." he added, his smile dropping slightly. He really hadn't meant to kill the poor thing. Was that why the other dragons were avoiding him? Were they afraid of him? Or were they mad? He did bury the poor thing!

Elleth's comment drew the boy's attention back to the present. "Really?" He could always make noise. Noise was easy! "Why are you in a tree, anyways?" The boy asked as if the oddity of it had finally struck him. Oblivionites didn't usually hang out in trees, did they?

"...." Elleth didn't bother to reply to the boys last question, instead shifting her weight as she dug her fingers into the bark of the tree. Taking a deep breath and steeling herself, Elleth began the treacherous task of climbing down the disguised death trap. "Oi, you better not look up my robes!" She called out, remembering just what it was that she was wearing and just what gender the person under her was.

She peered over one shoulder to glare at him and paled as she was reminded about the distance she still had to go. Gulping she turned her gaze back to finding hand and foot holds, because no matter how tempting it was to use the Dovaa as a landing spot, she really didn't want to hit the ground in any manner that wasn't softly.

PostPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2012 6:08 pm

Samril's face turned beet red at Elleth's warning. He hadn't even thought of doing something like that! He turned so she couldn't even accuse him of trying, looking around as if possibly a dragon had snuck up on them. Moments passed and he started to fidget. How long was it going to take for her to get out of the tree?

The Dovaa picked up a stick, twirling it about in the air. Snippets of a song hummed under his breath could be heard from time to time.

Elleth couldn't help the sigh of relief that passed through her lips once she felt solid ground under her feet again. Climbing a tree was a good idea in a pinch, if your enemy didn't look up. But against a dragon? Looking back on it Elleth couldn't believe how stupid she'd been. All she'd done was put herself in a convenient spot to be eaten. She'd might have well just rubbed some spices on her body to be polite too.

Looking around she spotted the Dovaa not too far away, swinging a stick and humming some sort of song from what little she could make out.

Hesitating Elleth honestly didn't know what to do. Sure she was supposed to beat up any of the other races she came across (or so her teachers said), but honestly, this boy hadn't done anything really, to warrant an attack. If anything he'd just sort of shown how stupid he was. But he was little, like her, and she'd been stupid too as a little kid. Gnawing on her bottom lip she resorted to the aged old tactic she'd always relied on. "Hey...you wanna spar?"
