OUT OF THE JUNGLE AND STRAIGHT INTO TRAINING OHOHOHOBONUS TASK This is an optional bonus task that will not earn you any horseman points. You need to demonstrate the basics of using a mount. Please do these in a separate thread.Hey! Listen!- Roll 1d4. Even, your mount listens to you. Odd, it does not. Forward:- Roll 1d4. Even, it moves forward. Odd, it does nothing. STOP:- Roll 1d4. Even, it keeps moving. Odd, it stops. Turning:- In order to demonstrate your ability to turn, your mount will need to turn one full circle. Pick even or odd. Try to roll what you called twice in a row. - Upon accomplishing that, call even or odd again. Then roll what you called twice in a row again. Upon completing this bonus RP, you may now RP your mount anywhere within the War clan. Except in RPs that takes place in trees, because that is rather silly and the mounts are too big to fit in the elevators. This isn't Thunder Bluff.

"I need a name for you."
The dragon stared. Snorted. Went back to sleep.
"Hey, hey, listen."
The dragon's eye cracked open, a large opalescent blue iris squinting at Fallow and Fallow's very animated hands. The boy hadn't even climbed on yet. Right now he just wanted the beast to listen to him. And the dragon was having none of that. None at all. The whole way to the clearing where he'd taken his beast for mount training was filled with fighting, tugging, lassoing, re-lassoing, chasing, and general mayhem. By the end, Fallow was positive that his beast was a narcoleptic, and keen on sleeping everywhere and anywhere it could -- even while standing!
"Let's try this again," Fallow said as patiently as he could. Which wasn't very patient at all. "Come here, and let me name you. And then let me mount you."
The dragon rumbled, exhaling a thick stream of smoke from its nostrils before raising itself onto its scaled legs and ambling over. Fallow smiled -- up until the dragon headbutted him straight in the chest. Groaning, the PĂșca wrapped his arms around its head and sighed. "Well, alright. That works."
Frowning down at the scaly dragon, Fallow tried desperately to think of a name. "How about Perscitia. You seem like a Perscitia. And then I can call you Persci when I want."
The dragon simply exhaled another stream of smoke and butted him with his head.
That had to be a yes.

Pulling himself up onto Perscitia's back, Fallow let out a small sound of surprise when the dragon rose to its - her? - full height, and rose very far away from the ground. Even flightless, it was still a very tall creature, and Fallow rumbled and tightened his legs around the creatures sides. "Alright then, let us see how this goes." He hummed, tracing absent patterns along the dragons scales and patting her side.
What was the first command again?
Oh right, forward.
Tentatively, Fallow nudged Perscitia's side. "Let us move on then." He told her. The dragons head swung around to view him with a large, unblinking eye. He stared back.
"Forward." He said very sternly. She continued to stare.
Fallow flicked back his ears. "Forward."
Snorting, Perscitia swung her head back around and paused. Fallow opened his mouth again to tell her the command, but the dragon seemed to know exactly what he was going to say, because she rocketed forward like a bullet, veering across the clearing with a roar. Fallow yelled and clung on, screaming for her to slow down -- which did not seem likely to happen any time soon.
But at least he had made her move forward!
Very... very forward.

"Stop, Perscitia!" Fallow yelled.
The dragon was still loping around in wide circles and snorting delighted curls and streams of smoke. She heard him, certainly, for he was very loud, but she either disdained the idea of slowing once he'd asked her forward, or was simply being a brat about it in the end. Fallow groaned and clung closer to her scales, digging his heels into her side to ground himself to her body and not fall off.
"Again, Perscitia, it is very good that we are going so fast, but first you should stop so we can get our bearings!"
Utter bullshit, and the dragon probably didn't care or didn't understand, but it didn't stop Fallow from trying.
It didn't stop Perscitia from ignoring him either.
Too bad.

A few minutes later, Fallow had managed to right himself on the dragons back, and though he was still victim to being flung forwards or being left behind from time to time, he'd gotten the gist of riding his mount at such a speed. Grumbling, the PĂșca continued to tighten his thighs and calves against Perscitia's side, and when he did, the dragon surged forward even faster than before, making him yell out.
It was all good and fun, but he really, really wanted to learn how to make her stop.
Otherwise class was going to be fun in the way that bowling students over with ill-mannered dragons was fun.
Which, Fallow could only imagine, would not go over with Faiza and Radha.

Deciding that his dragon was either as stubborn as a mule or as deaf as a rock, Fallow sighed from his position atop the creatures back, now very used to the rocking motion. Up until Perscitia suddenly decided to veer around and change directions, sending him from side to side and clinging on once more for dear life.
"A little warning next time!" He yelled out.
The dragon simply roared and surged forward even faster in reply.

Fallow decided that now he was a pro at riding.
The only problem was that he didn't know how to stop.

Fallow's a** was beginning to ache, and he was pretty sure that Perscitia was enjoying his pain.
Grumbling, the PĂșca opened his mouth to shout stop. He thought better of it when Perscitia whacked him in the back of his head with her long, scaly tail.
Next time, he thought, next time, you dumb dragon.

Finally, Fallow summoned up his determination again and rolled his shoulders back and yelled, "Halt!"
The dragon skidded to a stop and threw Fallow forward, sending him sailing over her head and into the underbrush.
Learning how to stop mount accomplished.
Learning how to stay on during transition... not so much.

EVENS
Fallow, having crawled out of the underbrush, kicked away a meandering tortoise, and climbed back onto Perscitia's back, figured that now it was time to try and make her go forward... and in a circle too.
"Think you can do that?" He asked the scaly serpent in a low rumble.
Perscitia blew smoke at him and when he nudged her forward she shot like a rocket across the field, but not in the circle he was hoping for.
Fallow yelled.
Here they went again.

Fallow continued loping around aboard his dragon express.
He just wasn't going in a circle was all.

EVENS?!
Finally, Fallow dug his heel into Perscitia's side, and with a roar, she began to turn into the circle he was trying so desperately to make.
"AHA!" Fallow screamed. "Good girlll!"
She most certainly was not.

COME ON EVENS
And then half way through the circle, Perscitia decided that throwing Fallow for a loop was too much fun.
She hopped to the side and started charing into the undergrowth instead.

EVENS I HAVE FAITH IN YOU
Nope, no circles. They were still doing zigzags all around.
Fallow groaned. His a** was really starting to ache.
