Atticus is known for being a hard working, blunt sort of fellow. He takes his work in the castle's dungeons very seriously and most certainly isn't the sort to shirk duties, at least not frequently or without valid reason. He doesn't lack a sense of humor, though it could be called dark, by most standards and it's very rare for him to leave his designated posts... Unless said person knows just how to tempt him, at least. All in all, he's considered responsible and his work ethic is generally through the roof on any ordinary day.

The scolipede, in addition to his work ethic, also boasts what seems like an almost unshakable self-confidence. Of course, it isn't completely that strong, but anyone who didn't know him well enough might think otherwise. He's stubborn and headstrong, his confidence almost to the point that one could use the word "proud" to describe his behavior. He's not afraid to try new things, nor is he afraid to experiment a little with routine or "methods," so to speak. He can be sort of cocky, but really, his confident air is a good thing and, mixed with an easy, if somewhat feigned, smile gives him an air of a man that can be trusted. He isn't unshakable, however, and often bluffs. His bluff isn't usually called, as it can be hard to see just when he's doing it. He rarely doubts himself, yet when he finds himself in an unfamiliar bind, it almost shatters. He won't say it, of course, but it can be seen in his more nervous and jumpy behavior.

Atticus has an eye for detail, which can either be really good or really bad, depending on the situation. On one hand, his attention to detail and keen memory make him a reliable source and are what mainly support his talent for "finding things." He likes for everything to be just so and does most of his tasks in a certain order, not moving on until he's certain they are done right. While this makes his work thorough and generally very comprehensive, it can almost make him unbearable at times. See, when he becomes stressed out or frustrated, he will become hyper focused on one task and he absolutely cannot make himself move on until it is perfect. He'll worry over it until he either gets it right or is forced to snap out of it, whichever comes first.

When Atticus really likes or wants something, well, temptation is just too difficult to resist sometimes. He tries, he really does. To say he didn't would offend him to a fairly high degree, but his willpower just isn't always there. He's damned sure that his tastes don't interfere with work, but outside? Why yes, he'd love to eat another tart. Music? He loves it and they say it soothes the savage beast. While not outwardly savage, at least not amongst the general public, he certainly feels as though he has... Needs. He takes a certain pleasure out of the fear, pain, and misery of prisoners selected for what he calls "Truth Finding" and that, if anything, is what makes what could be a more harmless trait into something a bit more dastardly. Especially when he's feeling overly indulgent.

While he might smile and laugh, as well as usually say the right things at the right time, he is more of a self-centered, indifferent git. He doesn't seem to empathize with others he considers to be beneath him, which perhaps makes him more suitable for his tasks down in the dungeons. Of course, he doesn't make prisoners suffer needlessly, that is only reserved for those who he and the warden believe need a few nuggets of information extracted from them, but he couldn't really care any less about their futures or their general wants or needs. He gets on well enough with faction members who aren't clasp in chains, though sometimes his concern is faked for both their benefit and the benefit of his career. Realistically, though, he does have a tender spot for the cute sort of defenseless, like puppies or kittens, and other adorable things. Though unspoken, he is quite fond of children. He can't see himself as a fatherly sort and doesn't think he'll ever pursue that direction, but they can melt his heart.
xxxxxLikes: Sleeping late, combing his hair, warm afternoons, cloud watching, and a nice round of croquet, when he gets invited.
xxxxxDislikes: Complainers, folks who don't respect personal space, and the sound of crying. He absolutely loathes the last two. Oh, and tight spaces. A combination of the three can make him somewhat of a nervous wreck.
xxxxxFavourite Food: Strawberries
xxxxxHobbies: His main area of expertise falls right in line with his duties in the Hearts faction. You see, he serves as both a medic and what he calls a "truth finder." He's quite skilled at both and has had many years of practice. He started early, under the guidance of the dungeon warden, taking lessons from the scholars that lived in Hearts. He makes both medicines and poisons, which he naturally secretes, anyway. He also enjoys practicing his techniques on the prisoners that need to have their lips loosened, tying in both practice with concoctions and more physical methods. He practically lives and breathes his work, but he does have some sort of existence beyond. Also, oddly enough, he really loves to clean. It might not be considered a hobby for most, but he enjoys it. He's somewhat of a germophobe and likes for his surroundings to be considered pristine. His quarters are almost spartan in appearance and he's usually well groomed.
xxxxxInterests: He does have more subdued, commonplace interests, despite what others might think. First and foremost, he really does enjoy a good book. In fact, he practically devours them and has somewhat of a collection. It isn't unusual for him to be in the library, reading, when he's got some time to himself. He's also very fond of music, though he can't seem to grasp the concept of playing an instrument himself. He simply can't do it, so he listens to others make music, instead. He also fancies a few more athletic pursuits, such as jogging and weight training, to keep himself in prime condition, especially for a precaution. He needs to be able to defend himself if a subject manages to get loose in the dungeons.
xxxxxFaction Opinion: He fancies Hearts completely. He's very much devoted to his faction, as he was raised to be, and serves the Queen unquestioningly. Everything he does, he does for her. Well, torturing he does for her and himself. But if asked, he does it all for her with a my life for you sort of attitude.
xxxxxAspirations: He wants to be the very best. Like no one ever was. Seriously, though, he takes a great deal of pride in his work with potions and concoctions. He wants to be renown for his work in the field of medicine and he aims for his poisons to be used against those terrible, terrible animals over in Spades.
xxxxxFears: He's afraid of falling ill, but won't shirk his duties. He spends a great deal of time making sure his surroundings are steril and even wears what he consideres to be protective "armor" when working with his father, down in the dungeons. He's absolutely repulsed by the squalor and prefers the more plushy atmosphere of the castle's innards. He's also very much afraid of failure, though one would think he'd never be afraid of such a thing, as big as his ego seems.
Employment::

xxxxxJob: Despite his title, he's well known for his homemade cures. Of course, he's equally well known for his work in the dungeon, which is where he earned his title and his reputation for being a cold hearted fellow. When he doesn't have captives to question, he mainly works as a general apothecary for the well to do members of the Hearts faction. He makes his own cures and poisons, using his own, naturally produced toxins as a key ingredient in the latter.
Appearance::

xxxxxSkin tone: Tanned, to grow more pale as he spends more time in the dungeons.

xxxxxClothing: He generally wears clothing of what is considered to be proper taste. He certainly doesn't want to be seen as indecent! That being said, he also likes to wear what he considers to be protective garments when working with the sick or when working in the dungeon.
