It is the Malum Era, a new Era, a continuation of the Ordinatus Era. The Third Generation of Heroes is split, The Vindicators, true blue Heroes, Dane Nerro and the Kemonomimi Clan, which stay isolated, and Heroes for Hire Inc., which at the time of the Malum Era are hired by the Ordinatus to defend their capital of Oculus while the Ordinatus military recover from the Oculus Crisis.
This is the Era the villains grow in power, Chaos had been driven away since the Spirit of Sin was defeated by the 3rd Generation. But it wasn't over, the brother to the Hero Dane Nerro, Rizen Nerro, was still alive, even after his inclusion in the Sutherland and Oculus Crisis. Rizen formed a united team of Villains, known as Hell's Fang, with the simple goal to cause chaos in Sol.
Both Heroes and Villains fought in the final battle of the 5th Century of Sol. The battle of Runestead was the final battle, Dane Nerro and Rizen Nerro clashes blades atop rooftops. Lotherio Punglione, Son of Ein Punglione, fought Sarah Xverian, daughter of Syythe Xverian. The Entire Optimus fought a single, monsterous immortal. In the end, Aurum was left an anarchtic region. However Rizen was defeated, and for the time, peace was won for Sol once again.
