►► The ward smelled strongly of the burning scent of antiseptic, the surfaces glowing in the harsh lights. For the most part, it was quiet. There were the occasional coughs of patients, the buzz of whispered conversations, the murmurs of the nurses and doctors as they checked on the patients and went about their usual responsibilities. To Nurse Kay's relief, everything was running like clockwork. She smiled as she shut the door to the ward, emerging with an empty dinner try that she set on a cart as the doors to the center were opened. A petite blonde kunoichi entered, breathing heavily, another shinobi thrown over her shoulder. With a soft gasp, Kay ran over to help the girl, moving him to an available bed in the ward and beginning to check his vitals.
"Kaiten, wha--?" She wondered incredulously as her hands glowed a soft green. Kaiten watched in silence as the woman began administering medical jutsu to heal the man. "It's nothing too serious, from what I can tell. Extreme exhaustion, fatigue, dehydration, malnutrition. Wherever he's from, he was traveling a long time. Where did you find him?" The nurse wondered in a hushed whisper. Kai shook her head once, the bottom half of her face still shielded by the cloth of her mask.
"He was between here and Kirigakure. I found him as I was crossing the Bridge." Kai murmured as she glanced at the man. "I have no idea who he is, but he was wearing a mask when I found him." Kay gasped, looking at the patient in dread. "From the looks of it, he's a hunter. And we all know who hunters hunt." Kaiten's voice was grim as she spoke before turning to Kay. "I wish to speak with him as soon as he wakes."
