Pippin was fed up. It was once said that every cat had his day and yet he was still looking for his. Where was it, it had to come soon because he pretty much was running on bad luck. And when it said that it’s bad luck, he meant really bad luck. It had got caught not once but twice trying to go for the pretty gold locket that was hanging right in front of his face in the rather department store. Sure, no one notice him while he was looking at it outside of the window but when he made it on the other side of the window that’s when they had a problem. The first time he was so close, his little spotted paws had touch the shimmering gold that was lace upon it before they yank him away. He was once again tossed in the pound, he hated that place, it smell like death and pee. Luckily for the little cat Pippin had no worries he was a master getting out of the little thing they called a temporarily “home” for the poor animals he had left behind multiple of times. Just one swift motion of his tiny little nail and he was out as always, he had even left them a little present this time to show them how disgusted he was with the treatment he received.
The next time he had made it on the other side of the little window they were ready for him. He was a bit surprised by this because most of the time people who work at this stores that held his wonderful little shiny trinkets weren’t very smart. He wasn’t even able to get paws on the golden locket before that had grabbed him, but instead of dropping him in the pound they threw him outside behind the store. The nerved of some people! Really, whom were these people throwing a guardian cat outside in a horrible alley like that! They should be ashamed of themselves, he was saving their life from danger what they should be doing is throwing shiny trinkets at him instead of throwing him!
This little kitty had to think of something and fast because the time when this store was closing was approaching fast. He moved up and down thinking hard and fast until something near the department store dumpster had caught his eye. It was shiny and gold and he hoped that it was the golden locket long lost sister. He gave out a small squeal and ran over in happiness, jumping in face first. Clasping on to the gold piece he frown, not only was it not the long lost sister, most of the shiny was a mirror! He frowned and stare it at for sometime wondering where he had seen something like this before. Ah yes, on the tv. Men who wanted to look like “gentlemen” wore this to go to “fancy” parties. And as he thought about this, a light blub went off in his head. He knew how he was going to get that locket he was going to change his look. He would become a gentleman! No more Pippin the kitty, he would become Pippin the gentleman. No one ever stop gentlemen, in fact that let them in store with big greeting and happiness that the man was gracing their store with his glory.
He had the monocle; all he need now was the top hat and mustache. That shouldn’t be too hard, all he had to do was dumpster dive a bit and everything would be set forward with his plan. He ran up and down tons of alleyways with no luck and was almost about to give up until he saw one alleyway that he had yet to go down. It was the alleyway that was next to the costume shop surely they would have both! Instead of doing the usual dumpster diving he ran into the store as quietly as he could and grab the near top hap and mustache and ran out and quickly as he could. Luckily for the cat, he fit right in, as there were tons of odd and end that blende in with his coat and he was able to escape without being notice.
For the first time today that cat smiled. He had everything he needed and all he had to do was place the stuff on and walk right in. No one was going to stop him; he was going to be a gentleman now and there was nothing anyone could do. He placed the hat on and then the fake mustache and the monocle he had found in the dumpster and check himself out in the store mirror. Oh did he look fancy. He walked down the street towards the store like he owned the world. Yes, he was going to get that locket now. He smiled and walked right and waited to see if anyone one would notice. He watched as everyone looked at him and stared noticing that one was doing anything but staring unsure what to do in this situation. He smiled hopped on the window display, grabbed the locket and walked out as the people in the store keep staring.
So in fact, every gentlemen cat had his fancy little day.
