Meaning: Night beauty, Lorraine; the province from Joan of Arc came from)
Age: Child
Nicknames: Leya, Little Lady Leyla, Little Leyla, Princess Leyla, Pumpkin, the list goes on.
Personality: Leyla, despite her parentage, is a very sweet; charming child. She tends to be playful and loves almost everyone on sight. She has a strange phobia of fae (not including herself and her father), and will not willingly go near them. She likes to be the center of attention at all times; like her father, she tends to be vain. She'll soak up compliments like a sponge; but will say very little in response to them. Hey, why deny the truth?
She is very articulate, choosing her words carefully. If ever insulted, her tone becomes formal and icy. She is always polite; some would say she has a smug tone to her words at times. She will quite intentionally use words that she believes her peers would be unable to understand if she's in that kind of mood. She is very intelligent, and has a goal to impress her parents.
She seems obsessive when it comes to swords; a dangerous obsession for a child. She seems to think they are pretty; she likes the reflection they cast when in the sun or under a light. If she cannot get to one, she will summon her own sword. This being the case, she loves anything silver; anything that will cast the same kind of sheen. She tends to be possessive and greedy (gee, I wonder who she inherited that trait from...) and will openly claim people, items, and other things as hers. "These belong to Leyla."
She tends to be observant, prefering to study her surroundings before reacting to them. It's the typical watch and learn thing; she wants to learn what people are like.
Likes: Animals, being around people, her Daddy, making friends, loud noises, learning, playing with her sword when Daddy isn't looking, pretty things, She likes making people smile. Sweet tasting things.
Favorites: Gold, silver, pink, blue. You don't want to know what her favorite food is in her infant stage. That'll change when she grows older.
Dislikes: Hurting people, making people sad, silence, being alone, other fae. (They're scary!)
Hobbies: Playing, reading, writing, dancing, cooking, baking.
Abilities: Ability This little cutie is far from the damsel in distress. She can summon a sword out of nothing and knows how to use it! * Note: Sword can not be given away. It dissolves if it is too far from its summoner Secondary Ability Inspiration- Inspires those who profess in the humanities. Not limited to art and music, Leyla will also inspire writers and inventors. This ability's only activated when she feels the person she's with has earned it (which is quite often). Personality:
Vate is stubborn. He's had things taken from him in life, and he's not about to let it happen before. He has the tendency to use others to get what he wants; and he's not above tricking others into believing he's something he's not. He's not malicious--not in the least! But he certainly will allow someone to believe he's cruel if they want to believe he's cruel--as long as he believes it'll help him in the long run.
Underneath this act, however, is a soft man--er, elf. He was raised by the guardian of Lynwood after being orphaned at a young age. Some would think such a harsh start in life would have hardened this elf's heart--but no. His father, Eamon might have been Captain of the Guard--but Vate was never suited for such things. He had a certain love for nature, for animals--for tagging along with Drystan--he was never vengeful like his older brothers.
Vate has always had the tendency to ignore orders. Especially those given by healers. With a need for adventure perhaps sparked by his father, this elf is spontaneous with his travels--and even more so when it comes to mysteriously popping up again.
This elf is possibly the most romantic you would ever care to meet--only he won't tell you that. He'll probably attempt to kill you if you mention it. He was left at the alter by his soulmate, Thali, when they were teenagers. It had been an arranged marriage from the time of their birth; but they had been encouraged to spend so much time together as children that Vate couldn't have helped falling in love. When Thali left him, it took many days for him to be consoled--and more to convince him to go after her.
He found her once, and nearly succeeded in convincing her to stay when Thali escaped with a group of human and shifter friends.
Vate's never really gotten over it. He blames those friends for ruining his relationship with Thali. Oh, he gets along fine with Kat now! But he hasn't truly forgiven her. Not completely. He gets along better with Gavin, who seems to provide chocolate milkshakes without being asked.
Drystan might have inspired Vate's romantic determinism, but something else inspired his constant desire for company. Probably Thali.
