There was a long quiet path underground that Aymet had begun exploring lately. Always interesting carvings on the walls. But at the end of the path was a room full of... mirrors? He couldn't help his curiosity, and walked toward one of them. His reflection seemed strange. It almost seemed to be moving on its own...

Opponent HP: Your doppelganger starts out with half of your total HP.
Dice: Roll 3 of your normal dice amount for each attack (ie. 3d6 instead of 2d6, 3d8 instead of 2d8, etc)
Damage taken: Whatever the third number you roll is. The -6 still applies to your attack!
Extra: Due to instability, your doppelganger takes 100% recoil damage from its own attack!

eg. I am a Y1 student, rolling 4d6 to get: 3, 4, 1; I do 1dmg and take 1dmg, this means my doppelganger takes 2 dmg total.

The mirror shimmered oddly for a moment, his reflection washing out to a dul grey, ghostly. Behind him, he heard a movement. It was there --

How could there be another of him there?

The other one said nothing, it seemed to stare at him oddly, head cocked to one side. The glow of the doppleganger's phylactery was pulsing as though it were trying to speak, but all that he could hear were faraway whispers too faint to make sense of. What--

It crouched in some feral way, leapt, struck a blow, sending the two of them flying across the room. In desperation Aymet closed his claws around its phylactery and crushed it into glittering dust. The apparition vanished instantly.

Still shaken from the confusing encounter, he passd by another mirror. This time, he was ready for whatever might leap out of the darkness at him.

Or so he thought.

Something had indeed clashed against his outstretched claws, sending pain down the bones of his arm even as he struck back. It was small, bright blue, and deadly sharp, its wielder hidden in heavy robes. It was -- it couldn't be --

It was the weapon he had once become.

Opponent HP: Your doppelganger starts out with half of your total HP.
Dice: Roll your normal dice.
Damage taken: 5hp per attack, whether you hit or miss.
Extra: Each hit you take weakens you; however this is purely for rp purposes and does not affect dice mechanics.

eg. I am a Y1 student, rolling 2d6 to get: 4,6; I do 4dmg and take 5dmg.

He delivered a strong swipe to the hidden hunter, but they still managed to strike, as if completely unaffected. It was impossible. They shouldn't exist. Couldn't. Was he going crazy?

Aymet had a sudden horrible thought that maybe what he had thought was the death trial hadn't been a trial at all, and all that he was doing now was a distracting dream.

The hunter stabbed him again. It felt pretty real actually.

The dracolich couldn't do this. He couldn't. How could he stop the hunters if they had so easily done this to him? How could he ever have thought he was strong enough?

The hunter had him pinned with his back to the mirror. He struggled, in vain. The weapon seemed to sap his strength, consume his fear, and its razor edge was pressed to his skeletal throat.

He thought he could hear mocking laughter from the shadows of the hunter's cowl. There was a pause, a slight anticipation. The runes along the blade suddenly flared--

Everything went dark.

He really hadn't meant to find this mirror room again, not after what happened last time. But it was apparently unavoidable. Carefully he stood in the reflection of a different mirror, expecting to see yet another twisted version of himself. Instead he saw -- just himself.

Older. Stronger. The corpse-like form he took had begun to rot, and here and there the bones were completely exposed. Even so, he looked so much more powerful, taller, noble almost, wearing the sort of clothes he would only expect demons to wear. Like a ceremonial military uniform. There was a look of disdain on his face at the sight of himself, as if disgusted.

The chamber echoed with a dry dragging and clattering. None of these mirror images were contained for long.

Unlike the last time, Aymet was prepared. This version of himself didn't move like an animal or a hunter, but a behemoth, swinging his appendages like wrecking balls to try and reduce Aymet to bone dust. The dracolich couldn't avoid the blows but he was small and light enough to avoid most after the first few, striking the key weak points of any skeletal structure.

Aymet: 40 - 18 = 22
Opponent: 15 - (24/2=12) - 1 = 2
Molten Tigrex rolled 6 8-sided dice: 1, 8, 3, 6, 2, 2 Total: 22 (6-48)

Unprecedented. The shock was apparent even in this apparition's glowing eyes. How could something so insignificant defeat it? It wavered, unstable both in its position and FEAR.

Again he knew himself too well. One blow to the phylactery and it vanished, leaving him in stunned silence at what he had done, and what he had seen.

Aymet: 22 - 7 = 15
