α lot of people say I'm. . .
Out of the two Ty is actually considered the 'good' one, observant and often quiet unless someone asks his opinion. Petty jokes in class and bullying are not his style, actually he is more likely to put a end to both if it occurs near him.. No, despite how laid back he seems Ty actually suffers from a extremely unstable nature. His beast wants to kill and devour anything that irritates it, his morals tell him that such a action is wrong.. but to be honest he once survived by beast's mentality and loved it, only after meeting Joell did he learn the value of life and the concept of mercy. This is part of the reason why he came to the school, but that will be explained shortly.

He can be (and often is) brooding, a little intimidating at first, hard working , and a teller of half-truths to keep people out of his business. At the same time he is protective, loyal, and stubbornly caring to those that he has taken a penchant to.. They are the few safe near him when his temper gets out of hand ( While it may happen from time to time, it is actually hard to get him riled to that point.) But keep in mind that while he has his cruel moments, particularly when dealing with his nature, Ty is someone you can trust at your back regardless of the danger.. though he will still lie, dodge, and ignore anyone that attempts to dig too deep into his or Joell’s back story. After all, Kelpies are born predators.. he can be cruel with a taste for bloodshed if his nature is not held in check by someone he trusts, and if influenced by that person it is not hard to push him to the ‘dark’ side.

care to hear my story?
It is a simple one, to be sure. Ty has lived on the streets almost his entire life, banding together with other poor fools into a gang that terrorized the market streets after dark for nearly ten years. They started out just trying to steal food, taking only enough for themselves without causing real harm. Until of course another group started to hit their targets.. this is when the group became a gang, scuffles breaking out almost every night as more and more friction appeared between them. The turning point, from somewhat innocent brawls to outright bloodshed, was entirely Ty’s fault.. chasing after the punks when they fled from the fight he cornered one in the alley behind some rich man’s restaurant. The adrenaline was still riding him hard from the fight, making his blood boil for more. Like a idiot the kid decided to face him, thinking he could take a single attacker on. It was the first time Ty shifted in the city, if not for Joell’s chance encounter he would have ended the boy’s life.. as it was he still lost two fingers and suffered from cracked ribs where Ty attempted to step on him in his horse form. One moment he had the punk under his hooves.. the next some kid was yanking on his ear and darting off down the alley way. Enraged he followed, knowing better but unable to control his temper.. and (long story short) he ended up getting trapped in some old ware house. As the night wore on and his berserker rage cooled he did manage to shift back to human form, passing out from exhaustion on a pile of old rags.

He spotted the kid several times over the next week, trying and failing to steal food.. but it was when the rival gang started to torment him that Ty took the boy under his wing, getting him some food and taking him to his gang's shelter. As expected no one objected to Joell's presence, half because the kid fit right in and half because they were afraid of how Ty would react if they turned him away. Not that it did much good, they were having to get more and more violent to secure their turf.. and Joell was getting sick. Yes, he left his gang for his adoptive little brother.. he swallowed his pride and worked to save up the money for this school, the moment he had enough they enrolled. Joell, to have a bright future.. Ty, to ensure no one got in his brother’s way.

The ability to become water in either form, and travel through/breath in it. He does shift into a large horse at will, and being a Kelpie he gains energy when consuming meat.

α lot of people say I'm. . .
Out of the two Joe is the trouble maker, instinctively a joker and unable to resist playing around when he should be focusing on his studies. He likes school work, and he is good at it.. but it is a jesters life for him and it is where his true talent lies.

Often described as Mischievous, his sense of humor is always in the area between funny.. and a little strange. He enjoys giving others a fright from time to time, yet his mind is calm and actually rather innocent for his age. Friendly, kind if befriended, and loyal to the point of blind faith in those he cares for. Very sweet, intuitive , and outgoing.. Joe is energetic and entirely on a beat of his own. He loves to run, and needs to be in motion to help himself think clearly. Joe is a vegetarian, he is skilled in riddles and is always quick to join in on a friendly joke.. His favorite color is, of course, purple and he hates onions with a passion. Music is his weakness, a gentle Irish tune will either thrall or tame him while it plays.. He is also known to listen to or sing said songs quite randomly in his daily life, those around him learn to adapt or ignore it. If upset he may laps into a thick accent, otherwise it is just the gentle tilt to his voice and rare odd slang that hints at his background.

As most can tell you Pooka is a shape-shifter and can take any form it chooses.. usually it is seen in the form of a dog, rabbit, goat, goblin or even a human but traditionally a Pooka is seen as a dark, sleek horse with a long wild flowing mane and luminescent golden eyes. If a human is enticed onto a Pooka’s back, it has been known to give them a wild ride; however, unlike a kelpie, which will take its rider and dive into the nearest stream or lake to drown and devour him/her, the Pooka will do its rider no real harm. The Pooka has the power of human speech, and has been known to give advice and lead people away from harm. Though the Pooka enjoys confusing and often terrifying humans, it is considered to be benevolent.

The story of Joell is a little less known, perhaps this is because his life started in the streets.. or because his adoptive brother Ty has taken great pains to ensure the past does not stain their future. At a young age his mother, a Irish lass, died from illness.. leaving him in the care of the local church until he ran away. He met Ty when he was just a kid, startled to see another horse-beast in the city.. and terrified that he was going to kill the human under his sharp hooves. Without thinking he yanked the horse's ear and ran, praying he survived the beast's temper.. funny how that impulsive action changed everything. As time went by and he grew closer to the Kelpie he started to think of him as a brother, and when they came to the school he was overjoyed.. and relieved. Perhaps, here in a school, his brother would learn how to enjoy life.. and away from the gang, his beast would forget the call of bloodshed.

Shape shifting into a Horse, Human, and a Dog... Other forms are hard, he has not learned how to shift that well yet. He can always seem to find ways to amuse those around himself, it is a natural naïve charm that is as much a part of him as his human nature. No one is sure why his Dog form is pale in coloring.
