Something you should know:
The Northern Plateau sits as a different land from the Hinterlands. It is cold, wretched and winters last for almost a lifetime amoung the plateau.
The wolves there have been losing to the battle of nature. As well as their prey. Most wolves do not belong to packs, and if they do they are small. And usually hold no Alphas. The only Alpha that belongs from the Northern Plateau now roams the Hinterlands. The Beta who was born to the lands, fled to the Hinterlands and lost a limb to old an old bear trap.
The wolves here seek refuge, however there is a band of wolves that will stop them at the entrance into the 'bridge' that temporarily links their land to the Hinterlands.
As the wolves die in numbers, so do the Sicht and they have seen into the future. Upon the Northern Plateau things aren't looking up so well. Soon, the guards that stop Hinterlands wolves or even old loved ones from returning to far the North-Eastern land, will have to join those seeking refuge.
Sicht or Seers are those who are touched with the ability to converse with even man. Speak and see the spirits of the dead. Sometimes they can feel empathic bonds or even feel thoughts if they are that deeply thought up... Or even.. See things briefly into the Future or into.. the Past.
It is a feeling or belief that they were born of a tree in the Northern Plateau. A tree that has outlived many. However, it has recently dwindled and those of the North have a feeling it will soon perish...
The threat of it's death only means that the Northern Wolves may not be able to stay quite as long in their lands. As other issues are at hand and the food source has dwindled. The death of this tree may have been the future that they dread. A sign that life in the North will only dwindle much like it has and the other animals around them.
Seers have foreseen these things, and they must abandon their lands.
To do that they will need Jericho. Owl has been sent by the Sicht with her brethren. Surely the Guards of the North will have to let them back in.
But there is hope.
Always hope.
Ever since the old oak had begun dying, another oak tree has sprouted in the Northern Hinterlands. Not to far from the Einherjar and Arcana packs, this tree has grown a significant amount, and is showing signs of being a sibling tree to the withering Northern Plateau tree.
A wolf who came from the Northern Plateau stood at the edge of this tree. He was a young Beta by the name of Jericho. Even one limb short due to a bear trap and a nasty infection. Jericho knew the hardships that man and wolf had with communication. He was one of those who were lucky to have found one of the Forest Kin who had the empathy to just heal the broken.
He had broken loose from a family in the Northern Plateau as a pup, his father and mother had come with him but risked their lives to keep their youngest alive and well. He had been adopted by a fox who had also adopted many others not from the fox species.
But staring at this tree an acknowledged shudder passed up his spine. A sign of his true home. It looked much like the one back home. It's brisk green slashing the blue skies at it's already young height.
It would not be long until another of the Northern wolves stood at his side. He only knew her presence from fading memories of home. Also because she looked different from those wolves in the Hinterlands who had gathered in wonder of the tremendously fast-growing Oak that sat in the lonely valley fields.
Her name was Owl. Most of the wolves of the north had simple names. Things that were connected to them. She held dark hollow eyes.
With a head tilt, Owl gave the blank look to the tree. Jericho stirred a little wondering how many Sicht there could be here. It was then Jericho would learn of the news. The Northern Wolves needed help. It was obvious he would lose his homeland. But those who still resided? That was heavier then the vast snowy-wasteland.
Will you join Owl and Jericho as they retreat into the Northern Plateau? Will your wolf join the two Northerners and help save their Arctic Kind?
