Annabel Lee was a good dog. She really was! She'd had a rough beginning, but all that changed once Chris had been able to adopt her! She took to training... uh... relatively well. A lot of the times Chris just had to remind himself that she had a lot to live up to. Eleonora had been an amazing dog and wonderful friend, but her time in this world had passed.
So instead of the beautiful, patient, loyal Golden Retriever he'd once had (or his family had, really), Chris had taken in a loveable, but rather energetic at times, Finnish Spitz. She barely reached his knees at full height, had a curled tail that looked funny when she wagged it back and forth, and a furry face that he's woken up to more times than he could count.
He didn't typically mind being licked in the face, but it was a bit of a shock to come into consciousness to!
At present, Anna wasn't being her usual charming self. Well, Chris liked to think of her as charming, but really she was a little spitfire when she wanted to be.
"Anna!" he yelled after her as she bounced and darted out of his reach, playing an innocent game of 'keep the leash away from Chris'. He was sure she never did this to Paris when he walked her! In fact, she didn't usually do this, anyway! But today... there must have been something in the air, because she seemed to think it was hilarious watching Chris try to grab the leash, and then bounce cheerfully out of the way.
It was embarrassing! One yawn and she decided to prance away in the middle of the park with a decent amount of joggers, bikers, and other dog walkers were out and about. It wasn't his fault he was exhausted! He didn't typically walk her in the mornings any more, but since his boyfriend's dad had kinda just died, he thought letting Paris sleep in while he took up his old responsibility would be, well... the nice thing to do.
Maybe he should have had his cup of coffee before leaving the house.

After his own morning run, he had taken up the habit of running every morning and then grabbing some more sleep, Alexandre had gotten home to find Cadha whimpering for a walk. It wasn't usual for him to be seeking a walk quit this early but he wouldn't deny the little black terrier. Not to mention Cadha was a puppy and so wasn't expected to keep to a schedule just yet, he would eventually.
Leash in his left hand, a cup of hot espresso in his right, he was walking through the park amongst the other people there. The black watch leash was held in a loose grip the little dog didn't tug or pull to get free, though he seemed like he wanted to head over to other dogs to make friends. The little, shot, stub of a black tail wagged in that oddly endearing sort of way while the tiny terrier walked down the path, owner sipping espresso ever so often.
He didn't hear the calling for the run away dog but he did see the dog that was off leash, it seemed they were...playing some sort of game? Where was the owner? Looking around, expecting to see someone running after their dog. The little tartan dressed Scottie was glanced at, wanting to keep him from pulling if he decided to try. "Be good Cadha." And so far he was being good. He'd taken him out to the park as soon as he could, once he had the shots he needed, to get him used to other dogs and lots of people.

Anna, on the other hand, was not being good at all. It must be in response to her owner being out all the time and not cuddling her as much as she would like. With school and baseball and whatever Chris did at night, Anna wasn't all that pleased about falling into a boring routine.
She bounced out of reach, light on her feet as her curled, fluffy tail wagged excitedly back and forth. She didn't mind strangers and was much more friendly than she should be for a guard dog of sorts. Prancing around the boy with the long blond hair and little puppy of his own didn't faze her in the least. Well, until she decided that the other dog was a lot more interesting than having Chris chase her around.
Dropping her head to the ground, butt and tail wagging enthusiastically in the air, Anna yipped a few times at the little puppy, before bouncing away and circling back to sniff at the terrier again.
"Anna," Chris hissed, practically diving on the ground to grab her leash and pull her back before the puppy got too frightened. Or so he hoped... "I'm so sorry," he quickly apologized as he knelt on the ground, grabbing onto his dog's collar before she could try to bounce out of his grip again. She whimpered only for a few moments, before happily trying to lick at Chris's face. Apparently she thought he should be rewarded for catching her.
"Are you okay? She's harmless, I swear..." he tried to explain, knowing it could be a little shocking to be almost pounced by a stranger's dog.

He'd been nervous, with good reason considering the size of his puppy, but it seemed the little terrier wasn't going to become a meal for the much larger dog. That was one good thing, hopefully the rest of his day and evening would go as well.
Rather new to dogs interacting with each other, he didn't go for walks with Lily and Eamon, Alexandre had reason to be mindful of the new dog who was so close to his own even if all seemed well. It wasn't that he didn't trust the owner, who he saw headed there way, but rather he didn't know how his own dog would react and in turn how the larger dog would react. It seemed well enough though, as one dog yipped and his yapped in return. Seemed Cadha didn't mind the sniffing, as he in fact returned the gesture as much as such a tiny little thing could.
Smiling, nothing too big nor bright, as the owner made it to the scene. "It's alright, no harm done. In fact it does tell me how he handles dogs approaching him as yours did." And he was happy with the result. Bending to scoop the little tartan clad pup up. Standing he held the pup in one arm against his chest and side, ignoring the little pink tongue lapping at the underside of his chin and throat. He'd grown rather used to it, and thankfully would be showering once he got home.
"We're both fine, I assure you. No harm done, and I can tell she's harmless. Most of the dogs here seem to be." He had worried about that, quite a bit in fact, and he'd figured he had ever reason to worry as much as he had.
"It seems your...Anna was rather bored and wanted to make a game of the morning walk." A glance to the Finnish Spitz and a smile flashed down at her. "She's got a lot of energy."

"Uck," he groaned, pushing his dog's face away from his own, along with her slobbery tongue. While she hadn't scared the puppy, he was very aware of leash laws and felt ashamed that he could not keep her under control like he usually could.
"A lot of energy is an understatement," he grumbled, pushing himself back to his feet now that he had hold of his dog's leash, and used his arm to try and wipe off some of the slobber. "Chris," he introduced with an extended hand, feeling rather sheepish, but still wanting to make somewhat of a good impression.
Anna had now gone back to sniffing, although now that Cadha was out of her reach, she went with sniffing at the boy's shoes, her tail wagging excitedly.
"How long have you had... her?" he asked, unsure of the puppy's sex, but since he was used to his own dog, every other unknown dog ended up being female until he was told otherwise. "She's adorable," he said, hoping he sounded as sincere as he meant, and not just trying to sweet talk his way out of being scolded or whatever... He was glad that the puppy wasn't too scared, and while he was positive that Anna wouldn't hurt a fly, much less another dog, he knew others didn't know that, and it could be a really frightening experience to have an unknown dog running towards them.
"Annabel Lee," he added the introduction with a nod to the fluffy dog at their feet. Anna peered up at him at the sound of her name and bounced around again.

Shifting Cadha, just a bit, so he had a good hold on him with his one arm while he transferred his espresso cup to that hand. With his now free hand he was able to shake the offered hand. "Alexandre." Something of a polite smile was given as he shook the others hand, a brief action before his hand fell back to his side. "She must be young to have all that energy?" He really couldn't tell, though with some dogs you could, he couldn't tell in this case. He knew, could see, that Eamon was older and had been through a lot.
Looking down to the dog sniffing at him he let his hand reach out to pet her head. She seemed excited to be sniffing at, and meeting, a new person. Dogs really could be easy to please, or so it seemed as far as he'd been able to tell thus far (not having a lot of experience with them).
"Him, and not all that long. A few weeks, long enough to try and work out a schedule for him." Although he hadn't wanted to keep to it this morning, again he couldn't fault the little one really. "He is, I think it was the face, and the short tail, which attracted me the most." Though he did like plaid, most of his pajama bottoms being the same plaid pattern (which of course Cadha wore now as well), and so the idea of dressing up a Scottish terrier in tartan was also a decider when it came to breed.
"A nice name for a sweet dog. This little bundle is Cadha." So obviously not English, likely Scottish considering the little guy wore tartan (a Scottish thing). Obviously he had a thing with sticking to the Scottish theme.

”It’s nice to meet you, Alexandre,” he said with a sheepish smile, still embarrassed about how Annabel had gotten away from him. Maybe if he had more time to spend with her than being stuck working on homework and knight stuff...
Chris nodded in response to the question on her age. “Only almost four,” he revealed, knowing she should be calming down eventually. Once her puppy energy wore out a bit more...
“It’s nice to meet you too, Cadha,” he grinned at the dog’s unique name, amused by its little outfit. For some reason, he could imagine someone who looked like Alexandre to have such a cute dog. There was something about his demeanor, too... Chris couldn’t put his finger on it, but there was always something similar about dog and owner that made them such a good match.
He never thought Annabel would be such a good match for himself, but here he was...
“You’ll get a schedule soon enough... or as much as you can with a puppy,” he smiled, a little more comfortable now that Alexandre didn’t seem too upset about Anna nearly bowling him over. “If you’re out walking around this time, we’ll probably run into each other again... I’ll be sure Anna’s on her best behavior, of course,” he added, glancing down to the furball as she wiggled her butt and tail in excitement, for no reason other than she could.
“We should probably be on our way... Gotta get to class in an hour... Nice to meet you, Alexandre, Cadha,” he said again with a small nod as he took a few steps around them to continue on his walk, hoping that they would in fact run into each other again, and on better conditions! Sleet Tempest Snape I’m willing to call this finished if you are! <33 Feel free to post again if you want!
